Simply the best

My wife and I got married at the Pig and Whistle last week and I can honestly say it was one of the best days of my life and that in large part has to do with the careful curation of the day by Justin, Brendan and their team. They were so attentive and the day went off without any issues because of them. The food was absolutely magnificent (as it always is) and the venue itself was a joy to be at. It's an ideal venue for smaller, intimate weddings (we had around 30 people) and the location is removed enough from Chelmsford city centre to feel private but not far enough away that it caused transport issues for anyone. The whole experience was very reasonably priced and if I wasnt planning on spending the rest of my life with my wife (fingers crossed) I'd say I'd be happy to do it all over again!

Our Wedding Day

The team made our day beyond extra special. Everything was communicated before the day and during the day with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. The team were attentive, polite, and friendly without being intrusive. The three course meal was absolutely wonderful. The room for the ceremony was decorated beautifully and the setting with views across the countryside just made the day for us. We had a completely stress free day and this was all down to how Justin and his team looked after us. We cannot recommend the venue highly enough!

So much more than we could have hoped for

We celebrated our wedding at the Pig and Whistle in November and it was so much more than we could have wished for.

Both Justin and Brendan made sure that our ceremony and wedding breakfast went totally according to plan, no hiccups. Justin made sure that the service at the table was exactly as you would expect at a wedding, he made sure that we were served first and made us feel like the most important people in room at all times.

From the moment I arrived, Brendan and Justin made me feel like a princess. They greeted me and made sure that I didn't bump into my groom unexpectedly. Doors and curtains were held open and music was right on cue every time.

The decor was magical. Exactly as we wanted. I felt like we were getting married in a castle with all the decor and magic that you would expect in a much bigger and grander place. We could have been anywhere, but wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. It was perfect.

All our guests were so complimentary. They were stunned by the quality of the food and the beautiful decor as well as the top notch service we were lucky enough to have. Our waiter was also a credit to them showing just enough humour and cheekiness to enhance the experience without ruining the professionalism of the service.

All in all a real 10/10 experience. I would highly recommend the Pig and Whistle thanks to Justin and Brendan, as the venue for the most magical wedding. It is certainly a day we will never forget and one which we already look back on with such fond memories.

Thankyou so much for making our dream wedding a reality.

A Perfect Day

Outstanding. We held our wedding here just a few days ago and words cannot adequately describe how lovely the pig and whistle was.

From start to end the day was amazing, Justin and his team were on hand whenever needed and couldn't have done more for us but at the same time never seemed to hover and left us to enjoy the day with our guests, a real fine balancing act that they executed perfectly.

The restaurant was decorated beautifully and the table and settings without fault, we hired out 2 rooms for the afternoon on their lunch ceremony package and were aware that other restaurant guests would be in the building after the ceremony but the setup was so perfect that we felt like we were the only ones in the world.

The food is their crowning achievement, every course had by us and our guests was so well presented and delicious it was hard to not book to go back for dinner the next night. All served with perfect timing. Drinks, wine choice and cocktails were some of the best we ve had and Justin had knowledge of everything that was being served.

The ceremony room is beautiful, decorated tastefully and elegant. A real unique space to get married.

Our day was perfect, we just wish we could do it all over again.

Fantastic intimate Wedding Venue

We had the pleasure of being the Pig and Whistle’s 50th wedding. It was a fabulous evening very well hosted by Justin and the team, I cannot recommend the venue enough if you’re looking for wedding venue. Everything from the food, the room decor and the service was perfect.

Perfect venue!

Our day was everything we could have wished for and more and this in no small part down to Justin and his team at the Pig and Whistle. The decor is fantastic, the service is impeccable and the food was the best we’ve ever had. All of our guests had the most wonderful time, nothing was too much to ask for and many felt like it was an intimate party at home. This is how welcoming the Pig & Whistle are - like part of the family. Absolute value for money, given how special the day was and the quality of the food and drink. We look forward to spending our anniversaries at the Pig & Whistle!!

A Wedding to Remember

Everything about the Pig and Whistle exceeded expectations. Justin was there throughout, from welcoming us and our family to bidding us a genuine farewell. He and his team looked after us and made our special day really special. The venue, the atmosphere, the attentive service and the wonderful food made our wedding an event to remember. Brilliant Day, Brilliant Ceremony, Brilliant Food

From the first contact to the final farewell after the Ceremony and lunch, Justin and his team could not have done more to make sure our special day was really special. Preparation, liaising with the Registrar and Florist, service, attentiveness and food were all excellent.

Fabulous, intimate venue.

The Pig & Whistle's attention to detail is unparalleled. Justin and his team worked like a well-oiled machine, understanding all the little things that go into making a wedding outstanding. The venue is intimate, so welcoming and packed with charm and delight. The food was delicious and the evening canapés scrumptious. Every element was thought out, and nothing was too much bother. Thank you, Pig & Whistle, you made my best friend's wedding a beautiful and resounding success.

Best day ever ♥️

The Pig and Whistle was the first wedding venue we viewed, and we absolutely loved it! We didn’t look anywhere else and emailed Justin the same day to say, “We want to get married here!”

From the first email to the last, Justin was so helpful and professional, making the entire wedding planning process relaxed and stress-free.
Our wedding was cosy, intimate, special, and beautifully decorated. The food and drinks were absolutely incredible! Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they’d ever been to—and we couldn’t agree more!
