Beautiful venue

Lapstone was the most perfect venue. We loved it the second we first walked in to look round. The whole planning process was made so easy by the wonderful Katherine. The day itself all the staff were so fantastic, genuinely nice and caring people who did a great job. The barn is stunning, the food was delicious and the whole day ran so smoothly.

An amazing venue

From the moment we booked Lapstone Barn nearly two years ago until the day after our wedding, the experience was flawless. The entire team's level of professionalism and genuine care is truly unparalleled. While the planning process sometimes required a gentle nudge for email responses (as expected with a busy, popular venue!), this never once made us doubt the incredible team or service we would receive on the day.

Special thanks must go to Mylie, who was an absolute star throughout the planning process, and Helen, the brilliant Catering Director. The entire staff, including Toby and Dan at the bar, made our day feel extra special. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were incredibly accommodating of all our guests' dietary restrictions, ensuring everyone felt safe and well-cared for. Even getting Christmas cards from them during the planning process was a lovely, personal touch that showed how much they truly care about their couples!

And the food... wow! We had a table full of chefs as guests, and they were all raving about how astonishing the meal was.

The venue itself is stunning, and it was so lovely to see our dog having the best day ever, too. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with a team that goes above and beyond, look no further than Lapstone Barn. Thank you for making our day perfect and truly magic x

The Perfect Wedding Venue

My husband and I visited Lapstone Barn in April 2024 and booked our wedding here for May 2025. From start to finish, Lapstone Barn was the most incredible venue to plan and host our special day.

What drew us to this venue was its ideal and stunning location, range of spaces to socialise in, the friendliness of the team, the catering and on-site accommodation. As soon as we arrived at Lapstone Barn we were struck by how peaceful and idyllic the setting was, and knew this would be the perfect location for our wedding with lots of stunning photo opportunities. We also loved the range of spaces available to host different parts of the day - one thing our guests commented on is how much they loved having different areas to sit and socialise in, both inside and outside, which meant there was something to appeal to everyone. Our guests also raved about the delicious food at our wedding - canapes, main meal and evening pizzas - with many saying it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding!

Finally, the team at Lapstone Barn were so amazing to work with and we cannot thank them enough for ensuring the smooth running of our special day. Our wedding coordinator was Mylie, who took all the stress out of the wedding organisation and was on hand throughout the day to make sure everything went as planned. Clare took over for the evening reception and regularly checked in with us and our guests while ensuring everyone had what they needed for the cake cutting and evening dance. Mylie and Clare, thank you so much for making our dream wedding a reality and for making sure Lewis and I could fully enjoy the day.

The Perfect Wedding Day

We had the most wonderful wedding at Lapstone Barn.

The team could not have been more attentive and Kat in particular did so much to make sure the day ran smoothly. Nothing was too much of an ask.

The food was incredible with several guests commenting that it was the best food they’d ever eaten at a wedding.

The team did everything for us, we barely had to lift a finger.

The venue itself is absolutely immaculate and was the perfect aesthetic. The photos we’ve had back so far are stunning.

Lapstone was the first venue we looked at and we booked it the following day. It was all the more special for being dog friendly meaning we could have our little dog with us!

The new accommodation on site was a lovely addition as it wasn’t there when we booked! But the rooms are absolutely stunning.

Amazing Day, now somewhat tarnished

The venue is beautiful and overall we had a wonderful day, but, unfortunately, it has been somewhat tarnished by their behaviour in the aftermath.
The place is gorgeous and we fell in love with it the moment we saw it. Our coordinator was lovely, so patient and most of the planning process was fantastic and proceeded so smoothly. There were a couple of times where we felt they weren’t being as flexible as promised but all largely worked out okay. Credit where it’s due, they were great and the whole run up to the day was brilliant.
The day itself went smoothly and most things were done as expected. The food (canapés/ wedding breakfast/ evening food) was amazing and far superior to what we expected, our guests have also provided fantastic feedback. The waiting staff were all so lovely, engaging with us and making sure any extra food went to the Groom! All staff in general were fantastic and very helpful.
It’s just a real shame it ended on a bit of a sour note at the end of the night and the next morning.
There is very little in the way of ‘aftercare’, the niceties end, they dump your stuff by the entrance and you have to search yourselves for bin bags and extra items left in their stores.
We were extremely upset to find our leftover cake had been thrown away. We didn’t think to specify keeping it as, with other weddings we’ve attended, the Bride and Groom usually receive the leftovers. What made it worse is that we were both so distracted in the evening that neither of us had chance to taste it! No compensation, nor even an apology, was made for this, it’s just not something they do (forgetting it isn’t their property).
Other errors they made on the day were apologised for and compensation promised (but not given as per the below comments).
To round off the disappointing aftermath the confirmed damage deposit refund (and other refund stated above) was then rescinded a month later, stating we had been undercharged for accommodation. A further month of trying to get a sufficient explanation off of them (it’s more than a little confusing and frustrating when everything previously appeared correct and you paid them what they confirmed was due) revealed a mistake on their pre-wedding final invoice. So, instead of appropriately compensating us for their errors and what they confirmed we were due, they have used our refund to recoup a loss of their own making. Their not pursuing the extra amount owed from their error was also termed a ‘gesture of goodwill’. I’m not sure Consumer Rights would quite agree!
This has all been extremely frustrating and upsetting, and, we feel, has rapidly tarnished the amazing day they gave us. Of course the wedding is the most important thing, but that doesn’t mean shoddy treatment in the aftermath is acceptable. We’re now unfortunately having to work really hard to separate this behaviour from our day and try and recoup the amazing memories.
For an exclusive use venue with a good few years of experience you don’t expect these gaffes, not to mention a complete lack of care or responsibility for their own mistakes.
Anyone getting married at Lapstone will have a wonderful day, just remember to save the cake, take bin bags and perhaps steel yourself for the aftermath…..

Just a quick email before we head off on our honeymoon to thank you for being the DREAM TEAM!

You have been amazing from when we booked in July right up until yesterday.. the day was absolutely perfect, it was more than we ever dreamt of, so thank you so much. Everyone LOVED the venue and we both haven’t stopped smiling. We feel so lucky to have gotten married there & you made it perfect for us.

So much love for the whole team.. and the food was just INCREDIBLE!!

Ginormous Thank You!

We just wanted to say a huge/massive/ginormous thank you for everything you and the team have done for us. We couldn't have asked for a better day, everything was just perfect. Our guests absolutely loved the day and also commented on how well organised it was and how helpful and friendly all the staff were. We'd also like to pass on the many comments about the food...from all of our guests..."the food was the best they had ever had at a wedding". "It was the best wedding they'd been to ever". Non of it would have been possible without your help, so a big thank you from both of us all the planning, prep and hard work paid off.

Best Day Ever

We had the best day ever and only wish we could do it all over again. I don’t think there was even one guest who didn’t comment on how stunning the venue was and we couldn’t have wished for anything better.

B and I both wanted to say a massive thank you for all your (and the teams) help leading up to and on the big day, and especially for staying later than we had agreed at the venue the day before. I’m sure you had things to be getting on with but we massively appreciated your patience and kindness in letting us stay until we had things completely ready-it meant we were able to relax the night before and the morning of which was invaluable.

I think we are both in shock that, after all that planning, it’s all over...and I have already told B we will be attending some Lapstone open days as I can’t quite get to grips with the idea of not seeing the venue again!

Perfect!

Thank you for a wonderful day on Saturday.
Everything was perfect, the day flowed seamlessly and the staff were, without exception, delightful.
I know it takes a lot of organisation and every one of your brides will want something done slightly differently but you did a great job!
Please tell the chef, there were many comments about the lovely food.
The barn looked beautiful, you have a fantastic venue there and I wish you every success in the future.

Massive Thank You

Now that we’re back from honeymoon and settling into married life we just wanted to drop you a message to say a massive thank you so much for everything you have done over the last 12 months and above all, on the day itself. It really was the best day of our lives and everyone else seemed to have so much fun as well.

The whole day went off without a hitch (I think?!) and that’s a huge testament to how well run the venue is and how well organised you all are.

The food was just as good as we remembered it from the tasting and we had countless great comments from other guests about it as well.

I’ve no doubt there are plenty of amazing weddings to come over the years at Lapstone, it really is a fantastic venue. Again we had many comments about that too!
