Where do I even begin? From start to finish the team at the Lancrigg were exceptional. No job was too big, and no request was too bizarre. We were their largest wedding with 120 guests, and the staff were so adaptable when it came to confirming the outdoor ceremony, even with the high chance of rain, plan a, b, c and z were created.
Simon was wonderful and made us feel right at home for the weekend.
Sereen, Anna and Nikki were incredible, they were so calm, relaxed and sociable, it felt like they were part of the wedding guest list.... we especially loved dancing with them at the silent disco at 2:20am! What troupers!
And finally the view, we have had endless texts, emails and calls commenting on the fairytale view during the ceremony, many couldn't believe it wasn't AI.
My husband and I look back at the wedding as the best weekend of our lives, and it couldn't have been possible without the hospitality of the Lancrigg team... oh and Simon of course, for owning such an incredible property! Yay Simon!
Thank you to you all, for making our dreams come true, and we will see you all soon for a little trip in winter- big hugs to Sereen and the girls!

The most picturesque Lake District venue, full of character, with the best team making it happen
We had our midweek wedding at Lancrigg in June, and it was the most amazing day we could ever have dreamed of. So much of that was down to the incredible team at Lancrigg, as well as the absolutely beautiful setting.
The venue itself is stunning, and having enough accommodation for our family and friends to stay made the whole experience even more special. Every member of staff was incredibly helpful and kind, and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble.
There was some uncertainty over whether the weather would hold out long enough for us to have our ceremony outside, but Simon and the team made it a priority to have everything ready so that we could move outdoors at the last minute if the weather allowed - which we were so grateful for.
We stayed for two nights, both the night before and the night of the wedding, and enjoyed lovely breakfasts each morning. We also had pizzas in the evening, which were delicious, and the team even saved two for us to enjoy after we had finished celebrating at the end of the night! Throughout our stay, everyone was incredibly accommodating of the various dietary requirements within our group.
The bar staying open until 2am was the perfect end to the day, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to be there and involved in the celebrations. So many of our guests commented on how friendly and kind everyone was.
Overall, Lancrigg was absolutely incredible, and we cannot thank everyone enough for the time, effort, and care they put into making our wedding so special. We would wholeheartedly recommend Lancrigg to anyone considering getting married there, and honestly wish we could do it all over again!Lancrigg's reply:

We have just had our wedding weekend at the Lancrigg and we don’t have the words to describe how incredible it was. As soon as we viewed Lancrigg, we knew that was where we wanted to get married and we are so happy we chose it for our special day. The setting is amazing, the house is so lovely & the rooms are all great!
The planning of the wedding was also very good, Alison and Simon were on hand for any questions and were so accommodating with our requests. That continued when we got to the venue on Friday as no request was too big! We requested for one of the beds to be removed to use the bedroom as a hair and makeup room and that was done with no questions. Simon even got up a ladder to fit a projector for us in the barn so we were able to watch the England match.
The staff at Lancrigg are all amazing, they all had constant smiles on their faces! Sereen is also incredible, we had a pre-wedding dinner and her food was delicious! The Breakfast was also very very good, all our guests loved it.
We would recommend this venue to anyone, the beautiful setting, the gorgeous barn and the amazing staff! What really stood out to us was the flexibility! As soon as we arrived we really felt like the venue was ours for the weekend and we could do what we liked. It was amazing to have it all weekend & we really made the most of it.
We are so so grateful to everyone at Lancrigg for making it the wedding of our dreams! We’re just so sad we can’t do it all again. Thank you!!!

Perfect Location and Perfect Venue
We recently got married in Lancrigg and couldn't recommend this venue enough.
We were lucky enough to have dry weather so our ceremony was outside which is the perfect backdrop and no need for additional decor as the view of the hills does everything you need.
The team at Lancrigg went above and beyond to ensure we had the best day and this started from the moment we arrived on the Friday right through to leaving on the Sunday.
The breakfast provided both mornings was amazing too - full cooked breakfast alongside fruit, pastries and cereal.

Lancrigg is a true gem in the lakes!It is simply a phenomenal venue that I would highly recommend.
The staff are brilliant, you can make it truly your own, the rooms are all unique and amazing and the overall flexibility is very high- this is not a cookie cutter place.
We hosted a bank holiday weekend wedding and did all sorts....we managed to fit in walking, wild swimming, afternoon tea, played croquet on the lawn, jenga and all the garden games, had a firepit at the wedding, pizza party, drinks reception.... cocktails.. epic breakfast.. a lovely casual lunch and coffee &cake... golf... church wedding... and our dog could attend it all!
Guests can walk into the village easily to explore the lakes, the scenery is stunning and a fabulous list of suppliers who can help cater to all your needs

Joni Sent on 26/05/2026A fairytale location where you can make your wedding your own.
When we viewed Lancrigg we were captivated by the view and knew immediately it was the wedding venue for us - with us drawing up the paperwork while we were still in the carpark at our viewing... And we were not disappointed.
The stunning location speaks for itself and, with plenty of onsite accommodation and a beautiful wedding barn for the reception, the Lancrigg is uniquely both a fairytale location and a home away from home. Simon and Alison were attentive in the lead up, answering our many questions. With Simon building a new secret wardrobe door onto the Azalea room just in time for our wedding, its safe to say they went above and beyond.
On to the wedding itself...the Lancrigg gave us the freedom to make our wedding our own. We had some outlandish requests including a South African welcome braai, confetti cannons on the dancefloor and a firework display deployed using walkie talkies. They let us do our thing and delivered it all. With many of our guests saying it was the best wedding they have ever been to, we know that a lot of this is due to the Lancrigg's wraparound catering, stunning location, and flexibility. The baby Guinness shots may have helped a bit too.
Sereen, who works there, was a real vibe the whole weekend, juggling a million things, and lifting the atmosphere while cooking for us at the same time.
It was the best weekend of our lives. If we could, we'd do it all over again tomorrow.Lancrigg's reply:
