Choosing Hockwold Hall for our wedding was one of the easiest and best decisions we made. From the moment I first viewed the venue, I fell completely in love. Meeting Richard and Beth solidified that feeling—their genuine passion for the Hall and their commitment to reducing waste is truly infectious. I called my fiancé immediately and told him to pay the deposit; there was simply no other choice for us.
For us, Hockwold Hall was more than just a beautiful backdrop; it was our home for two nights. The sense of exclusive hire makes you feel incredibly special and completely unrestricted, allowing the celebration to flow naturally. I also had a deep personal connection, as my Nannie used to live just up the road, and we spent Christmases at the old pub (now the Inn). Seeing the space transformed by the current team, while keeping that wonderful, warm atmosphere, was incredible.
Our guests constantly complimented the venue, with many saying it was the best wedding venue they had ever been to. The outdoor ceremony space was beautiful, and the weather held out perfectly, but knowing there was a very capable and elegant Plan B was highly reassuring. The unique features, like the animals on site, added an extra layer of charm and magic that you simply won't find anywhere else. Later, the basement space provided the perfect setting to continue the party after the marquee.
We were consistently impressed by how reasonably priced everything was, from the venue hire itself to the drinks served on the day. Considering the sheer grandeur and the all-encompassing experience, the value provided is outstanding. Richard, Beth, and the team ensure that you are treated like family, making the whole experience feel personal and relaxed.
If I could change one thing, it would be to heed the venue’s advice on suppliers. We opted for an outside supplier, and the clear-up the following day became quite stressful due due to things being misplaced and the supplier not knowing where to go. While this had nothing to do with the venue itself, I now understand why using the recommended suppliers, who are already familiar with the space, is so crucial for a seamless experience.
For future couples planning a highly detailed wedding like ours, I would also strongly recommend hiring a wedding planner. Although the venue coordinators are fantastic and arrived at 10 am, having a dedicated planner from the start would have reduced the need for our groomsmen to run around organizing things on the morning of the wedding.
Hockwold Hall offers ample, amazing on-site accommodation and a truly unforgettable atmosphere. This review simply doesn't do the venue justice for how brilliant it is. If you are searching for your perfect wedding venue, I highly recommend you go and view it—you will fall in love with it straight away. -

The venue is absolutely beautiful and the staff are all brilliant! The rooms are all so unique and offer a great experience for guests. We only wish we could have stayed longer! The cellar bar was a great addition for the after party also. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone and it was all very organised from start to finish -

The staff at Hockwold hall went above and beyond in everything they did.
They allowed us to have the best day of our dreams. Nothing was too much trouble.
The shefs catering were equally the same and catered exactly to our budget and guests. Everyone is still talking about how amazing the food and how spectacular the day was.
I cannot recommend Hockwold hall enough. I’m so glad we chose here. -

When we were looking at venues for our Wedding, we must have looked at what felt like 100 venues in a very short space of time. There were a few key things we were looking for, Accommodation for family members coming from afar, a venue where members of the public wouldn't randomly be captured in your day and somewhere that was accessible for the ceremony and evening because we had some guests who had special needs. Once we had set eyes on Hockwold, there wasn't really another option which came close. The accommodation for the day and the option to have accommodation for the night before was something that worked perfectly for what we needed. Meeting the team initially was easy and everything was laid out for us as to how the day normally works we were showed all parts of the venue, including the rooms in the house and the area for the evening do. We were absolutely blown away by each and every part of it, the absolute clincher, if we needed one, was for sure the peacocks roaming the grounds. The house, marquee and grounds are the perfect setting for a Wedding and as I say once we had been shown around there was little to no discussion afterwards because we knew we had found our venue. The team were great once we had secured the date with them, we had constant updates on when payments were needed, had a tasting with the SHEFS company that they use for the food (Which was unreal and has since ruined all other puddings and food, which doesn't stack up to their standard), there was an option for a wine tasting and other Open Days to meet other vendors that they often work with which really helped us in regards to entertainment and decoration. We also had a pre-Wedding meeting around a month before to run through all our choices and to really sure up how the day would look, which was great because after a year and a half of thinking and planning it was nice to finalise things and get your mind around how everything will look and feel on the day. When we arrived at the house the day before, we were wowed again by the house and surroundings, a feeling that never wore off no matter how many times we visited and another feeling that was expressed by each and everyone of our guests, both those who stayed in the house and those who came for just the day. When the day finally arrived the staff made sure that everyone of our needs were catered for, the day ran so smoothly considering the nervous headspace we were both in. They held food and drinks back for us, ferried guests into the correct areas in the house always leaving a spare room for us to have moments of quiet contemplation as a newly married couple. Similarly to the day, the evening was just as smooth and everyone was well catered for in every way shape and form. I cannot imagine having the day anywhere else and we are already planning, if we can, to return on an anniversary to relive the day because it went way too fast. It was a 5 star venue, with stunning visuals which look amazing in the photos we got from the day, the house is packed with facilities and activities that we really didn't make the most of with the time constraints but everything is just absolutely perfect for a big celebration. I can see why the reviews are so good for the venue, and why they have previously won awards. I would recommend Hockwold in a heartbeat for anyone wanting to cement the perfect setting for the best day of their lives. -

Living locally to such an amazing venue is always a bonus however we didn’t expect it to turn out as perfect as it has!
From the first meeting we were filled with confidence that any questions or worries we had would be taken care of.
On the day we had staff waiting for us to help us get into the right places at the right time and it all went to plan. The staff are a credit to the venue and worked tirelessly to meet anything we needed.
The beautiful gardens and marquee helped set our magical day. If the weather hadn’t of held out for us the option of having the ceremony indoors as well is a massive bonus.
We really can’t thank Hockwold Hall enough for making our day go off with with our a hitch!
We recommend the venue to anyone getting married!
