Danby Castle Barn was the perfect venue for our winter wedding. Despite the cold season, the atmosphere felt incredibly warm and welcoming, thanks to both the beautiful setting and the wonderful staff. Our event coordinator, Kaylie, was truly outstanding—calm, professional, and completely unflappable throughout the entire day. She made everything feel effortless and genuinely special for us. The food and service were exceptional, and our guests are still talking about it. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. -

We got married November and we had the most amazing day, the food was brilliant for our reception and Danby Castle itself was just incredible. That being said a few improvements definitely need to be looked at. I was told that we would have a call from our wedding co ordinator the week before just to touch base however we didn’t get this. When I arrived on the morning of our wedding I was then told that our wedding coordinator wasn’t in. For someone with OCD this straight away made me feel anxious plus I was really poorly unfortunately on my wedding day with a chest infection and a cold. I then had explain some of the arrangements we had with our original co-ordinator, so good job I created a file with everything in as I just didn’t have the time or wanted the stress of this. The co-ordinator we had was okay, but wasn’t overall attentive especially for when my mum arrived it was raining at this point, so my groom needed to be in the Jury room so the door upstairs was locked between so they couldn’t come through to accidentally see the bridal party, however initially the co ordinator wouldn’t let me mum through that door and expected her to walk around outside in the rain to get to the bridal party as she wanted to see me, so luckily our photographer stepped in and opened the door for her to go downstairs to see the bridal party and me. It was just unnecessary and unhelpful. When it got to me being needed in my dress I was very nervous at this point and felt I was rushing however I had no reassurance from the coordinator on timing or anything. We also had arranged for a grand entrance with a special song which was a 90’s hit, and when we came into our guests spinning their napkins and cheering us on, the music was so quiet and ended up being pointless. We had to ask for the music to be raised several times. The food on the evening was pork and the sandwiches were cold, so a lot was left for waste and our guests were eating the only hot potatoes and coleslaw. Luckily we had cakes and some of our guests were still full from the main which we couldn’t fault that.
Do our overall experience we did have the best day, but we felt we had more support and guidance from our suppliers who were our Photographer Aaron, our Videographer Nick, and my hair and make up Artists Laura & Paige. We even had our Decor Designer wait until our ceremony finished to transfer our decor over to the bar for behind our sweet heart table who was Wow My Events - Ingrid. We can’t thank them enough. Thankyou to Danby Castle Itself for being so beautiful and making our wedding pictures look even more beautiful with scenery. (We can’t attached pictures of my husband due to his job) -

Our wedding took place in July 2025 and we had the most wonderful day that we will never forget. Danby Castle was such a beautiful wedding venue. Staff were so helpful and professional. The stunning new Dale View barn had just opened before out wedding which meant we could use this for our wedding breakfast and we couldnt have asked for more....our day was perfect. Thank you to all the staff at Danby Castle who worked hard to make this possible on the day. Les & Steve XX -

We wish we could experience our wedding day all over again 💕
We wish we can do the day all over again exactly as it was. We wouldn’t change a single thing. Leah and her team were wonderful, super supportive, helpful and friendly. Especially organising a wedding from a different country, we had nothing to worry about as her expertise and care made us feel at ease and knew that we were in the right hands. We and our guests enjoyed our time at Danby so much and we’re grateful to have Leah as our wedding coordinator. The whole Danby team all made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. -

We had the most perfect day at Danby Castle Barn, it was everything we could've imagined and more! Our coordinator Leah was fabulous, she really made the build-up stress free and exciting then our step-in coordinator Georgia was absolutely amazing on the day - nothing was too much trouble & the day ran seamlessly, we cannot thank you enough! Every single staff member on the day was beyond helpful and so kind, the DJ was amazing and they all had the best communication. Our menu tasting experience wasn't the best, but the food on the day was absolutely unreal, we had so many compliments from guests on how amazing the food was and how great the bar service was. We honestly cannot recommend this venue enough, I am so so glad we booked this gorgeous venue and cannot imagine our day anywhere else, it was truly perfect. -

Everything we dreamed of!
We looked at a few venues but Danby Castle Barn blew us away. From choosing the venue to getting married, the staff were amazing - so personable, easy to contact and made sure everything we wanted for our wedding day was carried out! Thank you so much to everyone involved in our day, would 100% recommend this venue for anyone looking for a venue -

We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect day! Danby Castle is such a magical venue and the whole team there are absolutely incredible. A special mention to Eve and Georgia who were our superhero wedding coordinators, who ensured our whole day was everything we could’ve dreamt of! From initially viewing the venue, to our special day, we are overjoyed with the whole experience. -

We booked a viewing at Danby Castle only 5 months ago due to unfortunate family circumstances and really needed a date for this summer. Well Danby was the only venue we ended up viewing because we fell in love with it instantly. From the very first phone call with Rosie and our meeting with her we just knew nowhere else would come close. Towards the end of the meeting Rosie introduced us to Leah another coordinator who also ended up being our wedding planner. Due to unfortunate circumstances my dad passed away before our wedding day but Leah took everything in her stride and helped so much with planning and details I couldn’t quite face. The food was sensational and my gluten free guests were able to enjoy their first pie and crumble in years. (Best pie they had ever tasted)
The whole experience of the team at Danby Castle were truly amazing. Our day was a dream come true. We couldn’t recommend a more beautiful venue however if you don’t have the correct team working there then it makes it less special in some way. So for the team Danby have who also seem like they love what they do honestly makes this place one in a million.
