We had first been to Scotland in 5/2024 for one of my bucket list items. I had always wanted to visit there and my husband made my dream come true! I booked a photo session with Rebecca Atack of Holeyn Heritage Photography PRIOR to making any of our travel arrangements for that trip! We ended up doing two photoshoots with her during that trip and decided we would return to Scotland in 10/2025 to renew our vows for our 20th wedding anniversary! Of course, we had to have the same amazing photographer capture our special day.
That is how I first learned about Culdees Castle Estate. I had a video call with Tracey, one of the owners, at the suggestion of our photographer. I was located on the east coast of the US. She was so welcoming and walked me around the property via video showing me everything. I leaned that Tracey and her husband , Rob, bought the property and were restoring the castle themselves—pouring all of their heart and soul into the project. We just clicked and I told my husband I found the perfect place for our vow renewal! The Chapel in the castle was one of the first areas they totally restored, and they themselves were the first ones to have a wedding ceremony in that chapel after the restoration.
I began having regular email, WhatsApp, and phone conversations with Tracey and her team. I had a vision for what I wanted, and I wasn’t sure if they would understand my vision without my being there and not meeting with them in person. I discussed colors, ideas, themes, etc. I sent pictures and and video clips to try and express my dream to Tracey and her team. I knew in my mind and hard exactly what I wanted everything to look like for this very special and meaningful occasion for my husband and me. And I hoped that I had expressed and explained everything to the best of my abilities. Tracey reassured me that she understood what I wanted. I had never planned anything like this remotely before and cross my fingers that everything would come out as I had discussed.
She had made recommendations for a private chef who would be able to prepare a special meal for the two of us and our guests. We had bagpipers as well! Becky at Holeyn Heritage Photography to capture our moments again, plus Eloise from The Wee Moments for our videographer! And we had a very special celebrant!!! We decided to have the meal in the glass rooftop courtyard after our vow renewal/handfasting/Celtic blessing ceremony and photos were completed.
It came time to travel across the ocean to Scotland. We spent a few days exploring prior to arriving at Culdees. Tracey was waiting to greet us. It was so amazing meeting her in person after spending months communicating with her remotely. I felt like I had known her my whole life. Our guest and ourselves all stayed in the four wonderful glamping pods that Culdees has on the Estate. Everyone had their own fire pit annd wood fired hot tub. They reminded us of Hobbit houses!! After getting settled in our pod, I went up to the Castle to meet Tracey to steam my gown and those of some of my guests.
Tracey said that she was going to show me the courtyard when I got there as a surprise . I had described my vision to Tracey as Enchanted Woodland Fairytale. She had lit all the candles etc so I could see it as it would be the next day. When she opened the door, it took my breath away and I started to cry!! Tracey & her team had truly captured my vision and made it a reality!!!! If there had been snow in the room it would have looked like something from Narnia!! Every corner had special touches! I gave her a huge HUG and cried with her and thanked her for making my dream come true!!! It was truly magical!
The next day we had our vow renewal along with a Handfasting and Celtic blessing in the chapel! We could feel the history in the Chapel and we were now becoming part of that history. We had many food allergies among our group and the chef was able to accommodate everyone. Our guests and us had the MOST AMAZING & BEST MEAL EVER!!!!
The entire day was TRULY MAGICAL in every way and we will treasure those memories forever!! THANK YOU cannot come close to expressing our gratitude to Tracey, Rob and their entire team!!! We are forever grateful!! Our guests were so amazed and everyone had an amazing time!! So much so, that they all said we should do it again in 5 years!! We would return to Culdees Castle Estate anytime for any special event—in a heartbeat and without hesitation!!! We consider them part of our chosen family!!

From the minute we arrived to view Culdees we knew that it was something special. The venue is incredible from the views, quirky details, beautiful chapel, outdoor spaces and lovely lodges. It has so much to offer!! The space can be customised to suit each couple and Tracey and her team are on hand to help bring your vision to life with suggestions, assistance and guidance.
On the day our guests commented on how welcomed they felt and well cared for, the team really were great. We also had so many comments on the venue and all that it offered, it was amazing.
We had our dream wedding here and would absolutely recommend this to others!! -

Our day was perfect. Exactly how we pictured it, all thanks to everyone at Culdees Castle.
Everybody at Culdees Castle were amazing. They were very helpful the whole time we were planning and when it came to our big day they made sure everything was exactly how we visioned it and if things started not going to plan Tracey and Rob made sure there was a solution straight away. Our day was perfect. -

Culdees was our dream wedding venue, and we couldn't have been happier with it.
What a stunning venue, and what a fantastic team behind it. Tracy and Rob pour their hearts into the place, and you can tell. Our wedding there went without a hitch, and they were a big reason for it! The place is beautiful with a great range of options for style and configuration. It really does feel personalised to you on the day.
During the lead-up, Tracy & Co. are fab at keeping you updated, making sure you're on track, answering any and all questions and generally just having a good natter. On the day, they made sure everything ran smoothly and made the day such a breeze for us and all the helpers we'd got.
The glamping pods on-site are fab, and there's a great range of local accommodation options. We had people traveling from all over Europe and the rest of the UK, and they all found it very easy to get to and arrange transport for.
They also have a great list of suggested suppliers, which helps greatly for some inspiration or filling in any gaps in your supplier list (we ended up using a few!).
Our only regret is that we can't get married there again. Absolutely love the place!

Everything was absolutely perfect! Fantastic food vendor, flower lady, baker, makeup/hair - all recommended by the owner of the castle - Tracey. Our guests arrived from different countries and all had the best time at Culdees Estates!Culdees Castle Estate's reply:

What can we say about Tracey, Rob and Culdees Castle? Quite simply, I doubt there is anyone better in this industry. Nothing is ever a problem or too much. The venue itself its absolutely breathtaking and we had the most wonderful day! It's excellent value for money considering how much these guys will do for you before, during and after the big day. Tracey listened to us and delivered the perfect vibe for our celebration. She was responsible for all of the table decorations, cutlery, dinnerware and even adding fresh fruit and flowers to suit. What I will say however, is do not mess with Tracey! She is the perfect person to deal with your suppliers and she insures everything runs as it should. Our day was completely stress free and went without a single hitch. I can't recommend Culdees highly enough. Not because it's a beautiful castle in stunning grounds. Not because of the outdoor spaces with fire pits and fairy lights. But because of Rob, Tracey and their family. They are the best. The end.Culdees Castle Estate's reply:

Culdees Castle Estate Unforgettable Wedding
So we first viewed Culdees Castle as a bit of an in between rustic/barn style wedding but it was way more than that! It is so unique and truly unforgettable!
We met with Tracey who shared her passion of the building with us and we fell in love with her story and the story of the castle too.
Once we had booked with Tracey we had a personal service set up where we could chat and pass ideas over but really whatever the style you want and how you want your wedding is completely flexible making it such a personalised venue.
We were advised by Tracey a few local suppliers like a DJ, cake, furniture hire bar team and caterers which all of them didn’t disappoint. It was nice that they a we’re all familiar with Culdees Castle too but even if your supplier isn’t familiar Tracey offers the opportunity to get to know your suppliers beforehand inviting them to visit and get to know the team.
On the day I couldn’t fault Tracey and her team they were absolutely phenomenal, providing an outstanding service where absolutely everybody was looked after nothing was a problem. Our baby fell asleep before the wedding ceremony and she was so well looked after by the team. Unfortunately the weather was torrential rain and storms but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits and the pavilion was great and kept us all dry and warm.
We had a wedding that was different, it was fun, relaxed and it was exactly what we wanted and more. Tracey and her team are experts at running weddings and know exactly what they are doing to make things run smoothly.
I can’t wait to see all of our final photographs - another thing Tracey managed to do on the day for us was to take lots of candid shots so we have them all to look at whilst we wait for our photographer which was a lovely touch.
Honestly I loved our wedding and our venue we wouldn’t have chosen another one which was perfect and everything we ever wanted

We fell in love with this place when we first stayed in the glamping pods back in 2024, so when it came to planning our wedding it immediately came to mind. Tracey was fantastic the whole way through, with multiple meetings in the lead up, lists of supplier recommendations, tons of decorations on hand for us to use, and helping organise the schedule in the background between the suppliers so we didn't have anything to worry about on the final day.
And what a day it was. It couldn't have been more perfect (Tracey even managed to persuade the sky to stay blue and clear between the rain and storm the day before and after). All our guests commented on the venue, with many questions about the renovations going on. The whole team were fantastic the whole way through, with nothing being too much trouble. Not just a wedding venue!
We couldn’t have imagined a more magical place to celebrate our wedding than Culdees Castle Estate. From the moment we first visited, we were completely enchanted by the stunning grounds and the serene beauty of the chapel — it was love at first sight. The estate has a timeless charm that made our day feel like a fairytale.
Tracey, Rob, and the entire team were nothing short of phenomenal. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made the entire experience seamless and joyful. Tracey was especially incredible — her support in the months leading up to the wedding was invaluable, and the day before the wedding she was right there helping us set up, making sure everything was perfect.
The pavilion was the ideal space for both our meal and the evening party. It was beautifully set up, spacious, and had the perfect atmosphere for celebrating with our loved ones. Every moment felt special, and the flow of the day was flawless thanks to the team’s hard work and care.
One of the most meaningful aspects of choosing Culdees Castle Estate was knowing that our wedding contributed to the ongoing renovation of this historic gem. It feels wonderful to be part of its story and to support the restoration of such a unique and beautiful place.
We are so grateful to everyone at Culdees for making our wedding unforgettable. If you’re looking for a venue that combines elegance, heart, and history — this is it. -
