Great venue, great staff, poor flexibility

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day at Cottesmore. The venue itself was incredible, and everything ran so smoothly on the day.

A particular mention has to go to the bar manager and the lovely lady on the team who worked tirelessly throughout the day to make sure everything ran seamlessly. The staff who were present throughout the wedding breakfast and into the evening were, by far, the standout members of the Cottesmore team. They were attentive, friendly, professional and seemed to genuinely care about making sure everything went perfectly for us and our guests. They were absolutely fantastic and nothing seemed too much trouble.

The planning team were also brilliant in the lead-up to the wedding and were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the process. However, on the actual wedding day, we barely saw the planners themselves. This was a little disappointing, particularly given how much time and money goes into planning a wedding and how important the day is. In contrast, the staff who were actually present throughout the breakfast and evening were exceptional and, in our opinion, far more present and helpful on the day than the planners themselves. It would have been lovely to have had more of the planning team present and involved on the day, as they had been so great in the run-up.

Our one major disappointment was the policy around wedding photography on the golf course. We had specifically set aside around 20 minutes to take some photos, but golfers were prioritised over us throughout that time. We completely understand that Cottesmore is a golf venue and that golfers need to be accommodated, but when couples are spending upwards of £10,000 on their wedding venue, we would expect a short, pre-arranged window for wedding photographs to be given some priority.

Unfortunately, this meant we missed several photo opportunities that we simply couldn’t recreate. We found this particularly frustrating and genuinely feel this is a policy Cottesmore should reconsider for weddings. A couple’s wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and those photographs are incredibly important. It was particularly disappointing to feel that someone paying for a standard round of golf was given priority over a couple who had paid a substantial amount for their wedding and simply needed 15 to 20 minutes for photographs.

Overall, we would absolutely recommend Cottesmore as a wedding venue. The venue is beautiful, the staff who were present on the day were fantastic, and our wedding was, in so many ways, everything we could have hoped for. We would simply advise future couples, particularly those who place a lot of importance on their wedding photography, to discuss the golf course photography arrangements in detail beforehand and be aware that golfers may take priority on the day.

Despite the few frustrations, we are incredibly grateful to the Cottesmore team, particularly the staff who looked after us throughout the wedding breakfast and evening, for helping make our wedding such a wonderful day. We will always look back on it with very happy memories.

As the lake sits within our working golf course, a member of our team accompanies couples and their photographer to manage the movement of golfers and, most importantly, ensure everyone's safety. We always do our best to give our couples the opportunity to capture these special photographs whilst safely managing everyone using the course, and we are sorry that on this occasion you weren't able to get all of the shots you had hoped for.

The most amazing day at a beautiful venue!

We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we first visited, we fell in love with how beautiful the setting is, and it was even more incredible on our wedding day.

The courtyard was such a lovely social space for everyone to mingle, enjoy drinks and spend time together, and the lawn was honestly the most special place to get married. It felt so private and intimate, and made our ceremony feel incredibly personal and magical.

The food was absolutely amazing too! So many of our guests commented on how delicious everything was and kept raving about how good the food was throughout the day. It was definitely a highlight for everyone.

One of our favourite parts was going down to the lake for our photos. The setting was absolutely stunning and made for some really beautiful and memorable photographs.

Overall, the whole day was everything we could have wished for and more. Everyone we have spoken to has commented on how lovely the venue was and how beautiful the setting is, which just goes to show how special it really is.

A huge thank you to Jackie and Julie as well, who were absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process. Their communication was brilliant and they were so helpful in the lead-up to our wedding, which made everything feel so much easier and stress free.

We will always look back on our wedding day with such happy memories, and a huge part of that is because of this beautiful venue and the amazing team behind it. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

The Koffis

Cottesmore was the first and only venue we looked at and we instantly fell in love , There are lots of options to suit budgets , also with lots of extras included in the package we picked which made planning a lot easier with the help of Jackie and Julie but the communication with all day and night staff at Cottesmore is amazing no job was to big and any worries we had were sorted and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day . Look no further for your wedding venue!! This venue is absolutely beautiful and so well thought out as a wedding venue. The day ran so smoothly and the staff were so friendly. The service for food and drinks was so quick and no one was ever stood waiting long for a drink and we had over 100 guests. The food was absolutely amazing and commented on by guests. The courtyard is absolutely stunning and was spoken about by all guests. Definitely book the getting ready room as it’s perfect. The venue made our day so perfect. I am so grateful for everything the staff did for us. I cannot recommend this venue enough.

The perfect day!

We had the most amazing weekend at Cottesmore two weeks ago. In the days, weeks and months leading up to the wedding, the communication from Julie and Jackie in the events team, Lorraine and Kerry in the accommodation team, and Alyssa and Luke in Food & Beverage was exemplary. They were always on hand to help with any requests and responded positively and promptly.

The venue is stunning: modern, clean, spacious and adaptable to your needs. Both the indoor and outdoor ceremony options are beautiful, although we ultimately opted for the outdoor setting. The food was exactly as we remembered from the tasting, both in flavour and presentation, and the tasting itself was a delight. The canapés were fantastic, and the drink options were popular too!

One of the venue's standout features is the range of on-site accommodation available. In addition to the hotel rooms available on the Saturday night (and on the Friday night if they are not required for another wedding), there are also seven self-catered lodges that can be booked for the entire weekend. Having around 75 of our guests staying on site transformed the wedding into a wonderful weekend-long celebration.

We would recommend Cottesmore to anyone who will listen. We would also highly recommend our suppliers, particularly Forget Me Nots Décor and Dominic Smith Photography, whose knowledge of the venue and attention to detail helped make our day truly unforgettable.

Having your violinist on the lawn to play your entrance music was very romantic and made your ceremony very special, it was a very emotional moment to see you both walk down the aisle with your mums.
Having so many of your guests being able to stay certainly meant that you could celebrate for the whole weekend and is a great benefit for our couples.
We do try to make everything as easy as we can for our couples and it is so good to hear that you felt that the support and communication from all departments was spot on. It is also so good to hear that you and your guests enjoyed the food a drink on that day, we do get such good feedback and we will certainly pass your comments on to our chefs.

The happiest day of our lives

We honestly couldn’t have chosen a more perfect venue than Cottesmore for our wedding.

From the moment we booked, the team made us feel completely looked after. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail meant we could relax and enjoy every moment, knowing everything was in safe hands. A special thank you to Jackie and Julie, who were always so quick to respond to any questions or queries we had throughout the planning process. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their reassurance, efficiency, and friendly approach made everything so much easier.

The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, especially the stunning courtyard and wonderful golf course, which created the most perfect setting for our photographs and for our guests to enjoy throughout the day. It truly has such a special atmosphere.

The food deserves a special mention. So many of our guests commented that it was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. We were also incredibly impressed by how accommodating the team were with dietary requirements. Some of our guests had quite complex dietary restrictions, and every meal was prepared with such care and attention, ensuring everyone felt included and could enjoy the day without worry.

One of the things we loved most was that so many of our family and friends were able to stay overnight. The hotel rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and made the whole celebration feel even more special. Waking up the following morning and enjoying a lovely breakfast together was the perfect way to round off such an unforgettable weekend.

Thank you to everyone at Cottesmore for making our wedding day everything we had hoped for and more. Your hard work, care, and dedication didn’t go unnoticed, and we’ll always be grateful for the incredible memories you helped us create.

Cottesmore hotel and golf course

Would highly recommend the place it’s beautiful there. They have beautiful inside and outside place for the ceremony and staff been so professional and proactive we couldn’t be more happier with our special day.

Our wedding

We first viewed Cottesmore in January 2024 and instantly fell in love with how modern and picturesque the venue was. We went back for a second viewing and honestly we couldn’t stop talking to all our family and friends about the Cottesmore. So when we went back we booked our date, Saturday 23rd May 2026. The whole process was lovely and Jackie explained our next steps. We heard frequently from Jackie via email and the whole communication from January 2024 to May 2026 was incredible. We got invited for menu tasting and when I tell you the food was incredible it was INCREDIBLE! Since the wedding we have had guests say to us how they still can’t get over the beef! Our final meeting was simple and Jackie went over the final steps and gave us our final invoice. The wedding day was absolutely incredible! The staff were so lovely and we wish we could do it all over again! The whole day ran smoothly and I couldn’t thank the staff and Jackie enough for making everything so perfect! Our guests have said it’s the best wedding they have ever been to and they all raved about how gorgeous and modern everything was!

We highly recommend getting married at The Cottesmore!

Amazing venue

I couldn’t recommend Cottesmore’s enough, the staff are all so lovely, friendly and helpful! The venue itself is perfect and good value for money! We loved the amount of accommodation onsite for guests! All the food we had was amazing and the guests all commented on how nice the food was! If you’re looking for a wedding venue I’d 100% recommend :)
