Cleanliness and General Impressions
We were incredibly impressed by the cleanliness of the entire hotel and grounds - everything was immaculate, with not a speck out of place. Although we didn’t see the housekeeping team during our stay, their work behind the scenes was nothing short of amazing. The venue was faultless.
The Christmas decorations and abundance of trees were incredible. They added such charm and beauty, making our day feel even more special.
Every single staff member we encountered was professional, polite, and were very genuinely kind. Our entire party couldn’t stop talking about how fantastic the team was.
The Lady Isabella King Suite was perfect, the room was incredibly clean and tidy. The furniture and decor was beautiful. We loved our time staying there and appreciated the kind gesture of an upgrade on our final night.
Reception
The reception team was exceptionally warm and welcoming. They made time to engage with all our guests and handled every request with care. There was an overnight red-alert weather warning which impacted on a few suppliers, and when this happened reception stepped in to help try and find a solution, which we deeply appreciated.
Wedding Breakfast
The wedding breakfast team was exceptional. At no point did we need to ask or prompt for anything - they were proactive, respectful, and professional throughout.
The room was beautifully set up, from the fireplace to the table arrangements and the cake display. Everything was handled seamlessly, and we didn’t need to intervene at any stage. Having one large table brought our guests together in a way that was incredibly meaningful to us.
The food was outstanding - beautifully prepared and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. There wasn’t a single complaint.
Other Food and Drink
The bar staff in the conservatory bar were also fantastic, especially Dobrinka. They went above and beyond, rearranging furniture for us and ensuring all our guests were taken care of. Their attentiveness made a big difference and not a single guest went without a drink or two. It was lovely to have a space available for all our party and they really enjoyed their time in there.
On Sunday, we made a last-minute request for afternoon tea, and we were so impressed that this was accommodated without issue. One of the team members even coordinated with the kitchen to arrange a special meal for the father-in-law, which was a lovely gesture. She was incredibly polite and made us feel truly special.
The breakfast in the Lansdown Restaurant was wonderful, the quality of food was great. The staff were very attentive and kind to all of our party.
Room Service
We requested breakfast pastries through room service on both Saturday and Sunday mornings, and they arrived promptly each time and was accommodated with no issues.
On Monday, our breakfast arrived on time and was of excellent quality. The same staff member assisted us all three mornings and was consistently polite and professional.
Planning and Organising
We initially considered an alternative venue in the center of town but had such a poor experience during our initial enquiries that we began to reconsider all of our plans. When I reached out to Bailbrook House Hotel, Victoria Everitt immediately put us at ease. She was incredibly forthcoming with information and made the entire process simple, easy, and enjoyable. From the start, it was clear that every effort would be made to treat us with care and reflect the importance of our special day.
When we visited Bailbrook House for the first time on very short notice, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. They showed us the lounge, suites, and bedrooms, answered all our questions, and spent as much time with us as we needed. Their enthusiasm and attentiveness left a lasting impression.
Once we decided on Bailbrook House Hotel, Victoria Everitt was exceptional in helping us plan our day. She was incredibly responsive to emails and guided us through every little detail to ensure everything was perfect. We are so grateful for all the effort she put in, and we have no doubt that the success of our day was largely due to her meticulous planning, organisation, and support.
Final Thoughts
In summary, we have nothing but praise for Bailbrook House Hotel and its team. Our wedding was always going to be special to us, but the exceptional service elevated it beyond our expectations. We never felt like just another booking in a busy schedule. Instead, we felt valued, welcomed, and treated with genuine kindness and respect by every member of staff. -

Exceptional
We cannot recommend Debby and the Bailbrook house team enough. They went above and beyond for us for our wedding. We had an intimate reception with just close family, Bailbrook reserved an outside area for us to play garden games followed by canapés, champagne and a 3 course lunch in a private room in the house! It was perfect for us! Thanks again, the Dela Rues! -
