What an amazing venue. Carol and Nik were fantastic. We married in the wood on a very hot day. Nik damped down the wood the day before which resulted in a perfect temperature for our ceremony. Nik even set up a misting line in the reception area which our guests absolutely loved. We were a bit clueless on a few things but ideas were put forward which we really appreciated as it's always pays to listen to the experts and they certainly are. We used Amp and Dec, Dominic Carter and Bar Rumba from the Barns recommendation list and we weren't disappointed. Our guests were blown away by the food, we danced the night away as the music was spot on and the bar staff were superb.
We can't thank Carol and Nik enough.
With Tracey Davies as our photographer our day at this beautiful venue was captured perfectly.

Two years ago we began our search for a venue. I had always known that I wanted a rustic wedding and wanted to be married outside. Little did I know that a family connection would lead us to our perfect venue. Some 17 years ago my father helped Nic and Carol get their beautiful barns ready to become a wedding venue and as soon as we visited and walked around with Carol I knew that this was the place that I wanted my wedding to be.
The outdoor ceremony glade is so picturesque and tranquil it matched my vision for the wedding perfectly, the way the light danced through the trees and foliage on the hottest day of the year created the ethereal atmosphere I was hoping for. See my new husband's face as I walked down the aisle of the arm of my father is a moment I will never forget. With Carol 'floofing' my train and Nic directing music and movement it was seamless.
The barn itself is so flexible in terms of what it can offer for your reception. Nic and Carol were on hand with ideas of what would and wouldn't work and on the day itself everything was seamless. Guests were so happy, the children were entertained and it really is a venue where you can bring your dreams to life (within reason)
The extensive list of recommended suppliers really helped us with organisation and even when we brought in some of our own they were welcomed with open arms. Our DJ went and spent a happy evening with Nic discussing speakers and inputs and outputs and my chauffer made a special trip to meet Nic and Carol so that he knew exactly what would happen on the day.
Overall I would not hesitate to recommend the barns to anyone if they are looking for a picturesque, unique venue. Nic and Carol go over and above for their couples and really do help to make your day as magical as you would like it to be.Alpheton Hall Barns's reply:

The barns are stunning. Nic and Carol go out of their way to make your day perfect and personalised to you as a couple - any request we made, they found a way to make it happen! They also recommend the most amazing suppliers. We have had so many guests tell us that it’s the best wedding they’ve been to and, although we are completely biased, we completely agree and that’s definitely because it was held at Alpheton Hall Barns!Alpheton Hall Barns's reply:

Words are not enough to describe the effort, dedication and commitment that Carol and Nic put in for our very special day.
They are not your standard factory setting, and take absolute personal pride in their work and in their couples. Nic was absolutely amazing with the details and had everything thought through - even a special mauritian / English flag combo!
Carol was very responsive and was so patient with all our questions, which put us at ease leading up to the day. (We absolutely loved her campervan)
The woodland area is absolutely magical and we wish we could redo the day again.
The place is only what it is because of the immense work Carol and Nic put in. 100% would recommend without any hesitation to any future couples!Alpheton Hall Barns's reply:

Scott Sent on 22/07/2026A Wonderful Wedding at AHB
We had a wonderful wedding at Alpheton Hall Barns.
Being a wedding singer - I have performed at many venues all over Essex and Suffolk and I was keen to go somewhere that felt a bit different, somewhere that didn't have that corporate feel. We knew as soon as we met Carol and Nic and walked into the barns that AHB was the place for us.
Carol and Nic were so helpful from start to finish. They responded to all questions and went the extra mile to make our day feel both personal and special: from drone footage over the confetti garden (which was mowed into the shape of a heart), to filming our ceremony and providing pictures of our day which came up on the screen behind the band during the night. It was a blast from start to finish.
A particularly memorable moment was when Nic set me up with a Britney Spears/Madonna style headset and had me sing my own entrance music to the camera the day before the wedding. It really helped to have a good laugh amongst the chaos as we prepared for the day ahead.

Gemma Sent on 28/04/2026Gemma & Bradley - Wedding 21st March 2026
We got married at Alpheton Hall Barns on 21st March 2026, the build up to the day was smooth and well organised with the help of the fantastic Carol and Nic.
On the day they could not do anything more to make our day run to plan, anything and everything we wanted they make sure it happened.
At the end of the evening Nic handed us a memory stick full of photos and videos which he had taken throughout the day which made it even more special as he had captured the day from a different angle from our photographer.
The venue was lovely and we would highly recommend getting married there, everything we needed was in one place which made the day stress free as there was no traveling involved.

Fabulous rustic Suffolk barn venue!
We couldn’t have dreamed of a better wedding venue or better hosts than Nic and Carol. They went above and beyond from start to finish and were genuinely invested in making our day perfect. They added so much fun and positive energy, and ensured everything ran smoothly. The venue itself is a beautiful indoor/outdoor space that worked perfectly for our day.
Nic and Carol have so many ideas to bring so you’re not starting completely from scratch! They were completely supportive of us bringing in our own vendors and worked with each of them with ease.

We couldn't have achieved our vision anywhere else
During our wedding venue search, we browsed many barns across Essex. And while there were lots of lovely options, we just found that they all felt too similar. On top of that, most came with a long list of rules and additional charges that would’ve forced our big ideas into their mould and pushed us over budget. Thankfully, we found a venue that was the complete opposite.
We wanted somewhere that felt authentic and warm, full of character, with a stunning woodland ceremony area and a back-up option we’d be equally excited about if it rained. We found all that and more at Alpheton Hall Barns.
But it’s not just the space that makes this place special, it’s the people at the heart of it. From the very first visit, Carol and Nic’s passion for weddings was obvious. Unlike so many other venues, they don’t treat it like a business. They simply want your day to be the best it can be and give you the freedom and flexibility to make it truly yours.
From lending us decor and letting us set everything up the day before, creating a bespoke music and light show for our grand entrance as Mr & Mrs, to even driving us in their vintage VW camper to and from the ceremony area when we didn’t have any budget for a car, Carol, Nic and their family went above and beyond to help us create our perfect day.
Simply put, we had the absolute best day of our lives and can confidently say we couldn’t have achieved our vision anywhere else but Alpheton Hall Barns. So, if you want a venue unlike any other, and a wedding day that feels truly authentic, wholesome and unique to you, you’ve found your place.Alpheton Hall Barns's reply:
