It truly was a lovely day, perfect in fact!
I will be writing a proper thank you, but wanted to thank you and all you staff asap for the wonderful wedding that you all organised for Alice and Michael. It truly was a lovely day - perfect in fact. Not a thing went wrong, although I understand Gareth fell in the river Ouse whilst taking photo’s ? !! Oh dear.
It took me all yesterday to sort out the flowers and now our houses are full of vases with the wonderful flowers and bouquets which we all love. The cake was so beautiful and I hope that the family tradition of the photos of the cake not coming out doesn’t happen on this occasion, apparently Gareth heard this story and went back and took even more to ‘belt and braces’ it! I believe our son and his fiancée are hoping that Gareth and Sarah will do their wedding photos as they were very friendly and so hard working all day even though they were meant to be guests. Your staff all deserve a medal they too were very helpful, friendly very good at whatever was each of their tasks. The meal was wonderful. I am sure you are proud of them, but pat yourself on the back for making such a wonderful team.
I will recommend Villiers for any event when people ask my opinion on venue choices. As you know you can even make the weather shine at the right moment.

Please don't use as your wedding reception venue!
Over promised and under delivered. Wedding cordinator took 3+ weeks to respond to emails and only after follow up chase emails were sent did we eventually get something back. The grand entrance we were promised wasn't coned off to stop nearby traffic so we had to park up on the road blocking traffic on a roundabout!! missed multiple photos with a classic car, the service lift we were promised use of for my elderly grandparent didn't work so the guests had to watch an 80 year struggle up the steps in pain, the service for clearing tables were extremely slow so speeches were delayed for 45 minutes, the security they insisted we paid for was non exisitent and to top it all off we almost didn't have a bed for the night because the hotel didn't bother making sure we had checked in!!! (a very panicked rush to reception at 11pm on your wedding night as the lights are being switched off to request your room key is not what you want!) We logged a formal complaint with Villiers - their response? 'our version of events differ from yours and you must drive 30 minutes out of your way for another face to face meeting' . No offer of a courtesy call from the manager, no apology or empathy. We paid £6000 for extremely poor service! Will not be recommending to any family or friends!Over promised and under delivered. Such a special day!
Where do we start to say thank you for our wedding reception. For all of your staff's effort, and to you Ellie for coming to our rescue in our time of need. For not only making sure that our day was special, but also our guests, as they all only had good things to say. We personally felt that you all where part of our family that day and we can truly say that we would recommend you to anyone at anytime, just not when we want to book you again.Where do we start to say thank you for our wedding reception. We just wish we could do it all again!
From the first show round 13 months before our wedding, through to the hotel barman entertaining our last standing guests at 5am on the morning after our wedding, the service we received from all the staff at The Villiers was exceptional, making our entire wedding experience a truly magical time of our lives! Taking on board everything we requested - from the fairy lights entwined up the stairs, to the tablecloth creases running in the same direction, even the special pasta meal for the bride, not once were our requests overlooked or laughed at! You all have the patience of saints! Thank you for the excellent Wedding Reception
My wife and I would like to thank you for the excellent Wedding Reception we enjoyed at Villiers in the Old Town Hall on 28th July. From the moment we arrived, the attentive service of the staff helped to reduce the stress that always occurs on these occasions. The whole event went very smoothly and this was due in no small part to the detailed planning put in by Ms Ellie Shea and her colleagues. The buffet service was most efficient and the food was delicious. The staff liaised well with the Master of Ceremonies and helped him perform the ‘sabrage’ with a minimum of disruption. We were very impressed!
We decided to get married in Buckingham after we visited the Villiers Hotel with a view to using for reception, we loved the size of the ballroom, the charm and ambiance of the Hotel. We were very impressed from the initial visit, the planning meetings where we discussed some great ideas on how to make the reception special to us, loved the wedding meal and wine tasting in the classy restaurant. Nothing was too much for the staff.We decided to get married in Buckingham after we visited the Villiers Hotel with a view to using for reception, we loved the size of the ballroom, the charm and ambiance of the Hotel. Villiers in Buckingham; is an amazing venue. We couldn’t believe how easy the coordinators made the whole process. Even catering for the small needs on the run up and during your wedding day made being a bride effortless.
Plus - Hosting all of your guests in such a grand room was amazing, the details of your own wedding shone through whilst captured by the grandness of the huge space – high ceilings and beautiful chandeliers and décor.
The food was amazing; we picked this particular venue originally because of the awards won for the food.
