Set in the spectacular scenery of Mid Wales, Plas Dinam is a family-run country wedding venue located in Newtown, Powys. Featuring a unique old stabled wedding barn, this rural property offers to-be-weds absolute freedom to make the grounds their own. With exclusive access for their special day, couples can enjoy a weekend wedding oasis complete with the suppliers and drinks of their choice. Facilities and Capacity
The grounds at Plas Dinam are bursting with a vibrant array of wildflower meadows and mountain vistas ideal for a fairytale romance. During summery months, to-be-weds and their loved ones can soak up the occasion on the picturesque lawn. Here against breathtaking views, guests can sip on refreshing drinks and enjoy outdoor games while the newlyweds take advantage of the ample photo opportunities. Recently renovated, The Old Stables is a decidedly chic country setting featuring atmospheric lighting, a glass ceiling, and quirky bathroom facilities. Up to 160 guests can be comfortably seated in the main courtyard, while the beautiful oak dance floor is an ideal space for letting loose. Winter weddings can enjoy an intimate wonderland in the elegant indoor rooms. The drawing room is an excellent option for a touching ceremony shared with 60 friends and family. The hall also offers a delightful space for feasting amidst toasts to the happy couple. Up to 34 guests can avail of the 15 spacious bedrooms for overnight stays, while the exquisite lodge house can provide a further 3.

It wins your heart
Wow! The beautiful house and grounds of Plas Dinam were the perfect setting for our wedding.
We wanted a venue where our family and friends could have a staycation in a remarkable location and witness our wedding in between - well Plas Dinam was just that!
With the added bonus of choice for your ceremony and reception, our set-up wasn’t restricted by the weather. Incredibly we had idyllic weather during our three day take over of PD – making use of the garden games on the front lawns, ceremony on the back lawn under the blazing sun – cooling off with canapes under the stretch tent and feasted the evening away in the Stables.
The house felt very homely and had plenty of space for everyone to relax and socialise, whilst the Stables are so rustic and unique. It was great to have two separate spaces, so the older family could retire to the house whenever they wanted.
We only booked our date 7 months prior and the PD Team could not have been more flexible and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble and they were always on hand.
On the day our wedding co-ordinator Katie was calm and considerate, allowing us both to relax.
These guys know it all - I don’t think you can get any better than Plas Dinam!

Just say yes!
The second we pulled up at Plas Dinam we knew it was the venue for us - Katie, our wedding coordinator, put us at ease and gave us plenty of time to explore the venue, answering any questions we had. There are a range of places you can choose to get married - from outdoors to indoors, grand hall to green lawn; at Plas Dinam you can really make the whole day your own and take the reigns in terms of design, timings and suppliers for the big day. We loved that we could put our own stamp on the place and bring our vision to life.
The fact we could have so many family and friends staying onsite with us was also a massive win - and the house is fantastic! All the original features have been maintained and the bedrooms are beautiful, in between the madness of setting up and getting ready - it felt like a holiday!
For fellow Welsh people; you don't need to go to England to get what you're looking for, the venue of your dreams is closer to home! ;)

Perfection
We couldn’t have dreamt of a better day. The second we saw Plas Dinam we knew it was the venue for us and didn’t have a single doubt in our minds that we, and all our guests would have the most memorable day. We had our hearts set on an outdoorsy wedding, but it was great to know that there were many options for plan b if it rained. It didn’t! The setting was incredible, having the woodlands for our ceremony was everything we could have hoped for, and the stables was unique and brought the outside in. Big shout out to Lou from Plas Dinam who helped us on the day and in the months before making sure everything ran smoothly.

Unforgettable, beautiful and magical
We knew there was no other place to hold our wedding as soon as we saw Plas Dinam. Both bride and groom were made to feel equally as important when we came to see the venue which was really important for us - it was the only venue we saw that acted in this way.
The venue and environment is calm, inviting and warm. It feels like a place you can live in, which is exactly what we did for 4 days. Nothing was a problem, everything had a solution and any suggestion or query was met with simple, clear and concise advice.
The home itself is incredibly well equipped for weddings and for a general stay. There are plenty of rooms with the most comfortable beds we have stayed in away from our own. And with the owners just down the road, they were on hand should anything need fixing, if we had any questions or even for some local tips on where to go and what to do. The size of the place and its grounds mean there are plenty of options for seamlessly dealing with bad weather, or for hosting any kind of wedding you may want - regal, natural, bright, colourful, outdoors, indoors, rustic etc.
There is not a single part of Plas Dinam which doesn't make you feel equally awestruck but comfortable. Sitting in the rear garden, taking in the view and listening to the world was almost as memorable as the wedding itself.
Worth every moment. Unforgettable.

The most incredible venue and people
Plas Dinam exceeded our expectations by a long way. We knew that we’d chosen a great venue and would have the best weekend, but we weren’t prepared for how special Plas Dinam is and much we would fall in love with this place. The setting is beautiful with the most incredible views, the house is stunning and all of the bedrooms feel like a luxury country hotel and the staff are all amazing. Eldrydd, Tyson, Lou and the rest of the team were so helpful and generous, whilst also being very laid back and relaxed. They really put us at ease throughout the entire planning process and on the big day itself. They over delivered on all of our excessive requests and everything we wanted was possible. From the moment we arrived we really felt at home there for the weekend. We were fortunate enough to have nice weather so really got to utilise every part of the venue, with a pre-wedding pizza party on the front lawn the day before, our ceremony out the back with the rolling hills behind us and with the meal and dancing in the glass stables. The stables were stunning and it worked so well having the dance floor open to the dining area, the dance floor was packed the whole evening.
We had Wild Garlic for our caterers who call Plas Dinam their second home, they too over delivered and were great. We would highly recommend Plas Dinam to anyone looking for an incredible countryside venue with lots of accommodation on site, exclusive use and a really relaxed atmosphere. We wish we would go back and re-live it all over again!

The Wedding Venue of Dreams
Plas Dinam Country House is the ultimate fairy-tale wedding venue. Two weeks on from our wedding, I am still pinching myself because it feels unreal to have had our wedding at such a sensational location. The house combines a unique feeling of majesty, homeliness and exclusivity all at once; your imagination really is the limit for how to style your weekend and wedding. I personally think that the most unique selling point for this venue is that your wedding is wrapped up in an intimate weekend away with friends and family (there are a number of accommodation options on site), not only did this give our nearest and dearest an opportunity to meet one another before the big day, but it also gave us the chance to settle in and fully relax before we walked down the aisle! We used the days prior to the wedding to set up the stables, have a Team Bride versus Team Groom rounders match and host a pizza party using the house pizza oven!
Plas Dinam's owners and wedding coordinators are fabulous and were on hand throughout the planning process and over the wedding weekend itself to advise, support and facilitate key events. Katie, Eldrydd and Tyson are all phenomenal at what they do and have created an idyllic set up at Plas Dinam. Our wedding weekend will live with us and our friends and family forever. Thank you Plas Dinam!

Organised from abroad, everything perfect!
I can’t imagine a more perfect blend of professionalism and hands-off management for a wedding venue. They were flexible enough to let us (the couple) arrive a day before the official first night, and aside from a short planning meeting early the next day, the house was ours to entertain with. All the guests could get comfortable and feel totally at ease and we were free to host as we liked . On the day of the wedding, everything for the ceremony, reception, and party was completely organised without any input from us and we could simply get ready for the day. Katie was so helpful and kind on the day that I felt like I had an extra bridesmaid.
This is of course just on the day - but the whole lead up was equally as wonderful! We wanted an outdoors style wedding in winter and they made everything possible, even to the point of doing things in a way they’d not done before! My partner was always contacting them with questions and requests and they gave him great answers, went above and beyond, and gave us both a lot of reassurance and advice.
Our recommendations:
- book the fire pit for an outdoor wedding!
- book the pizza oven for the night before the wedding and order the dough from the recommended supplier (Andy, I think?)
- Wild Garlic are awesome caterers and have a lot of experience at Plas Dinam - i think they even designed the stables kitchen - plus they’re as kind and flexible as Katie, Eldrydd and Tyson (i.e. very)
- The Lodge is great for families with little kids to get away from the main house. We managed to comfortably fit a lot of people in the Lodge.
- if you’re self catering for breakfast or providing drinks, do a big Morrisons order to the house
- make sure you get some time to wander round the gardens!

Truly Stunning
This is a beautiful house that balances space and style with a homeliness. The grounds and countryside are stunning and enable walks, swimming and fun. The morning of our wedding friends were rolling out of bed and going for runs, or swimming in the wild lakes. Others were just clustered around the kitchen table. We married in the woodland which was perfect for us but there are lots of options.
Throughout the planning Louise and Eldrydd were helpful and responsive. Lots of advice on timing and set up. We used lots of wonderful local suppliers I would also recommend from pastries from Andy's bread ("these are better than in France" was one comment!!) to local chocolate! Our flowers were also done by a lady from the village (Jane).

Magic magic magic.
Harry and I can't stop smiling and crying and laughing about all that has been magic over the past week. All of which was only made more magical by the Plas Dinam team. Their care, kindness and "nothing is too much" attitude led to us all having such fun. They took care of us the minute we first got in contact. We got to make our wedding our own. The interior and exterior of the house is incredible, but the to be able to also experience the woodland, the stables and every nook and cranny this wonderful venue has to offer was just spectacular.
A special mention to Katie, our wedding Coordinator. I haven't got enough words to express my gratitude for this beautiful human. She feels like an angel gift that was given to us upon booking Plas Dinam. She was like a fairy god mother in the background that made everything so seamless and easy and made us feel we were constantly safe in her hands! I
Owe her a lot more than an espresso martini... but I simply wish I could have her as part of my team always. Thank you.

The most magical weekend
We had our wedding weekend here! I cant even begin to explain our experience. The house and grounds itself are absolutely stunning, it all went so perfectly. We had a pizza party on the Friday night using their pizza oven, Saturday the morning of the wedding was unreal, we went for a walk to the swimming lake and went for a swim, it was glorious. Such a chilled and magical experience. It’s your house for the weekend so everyone genuinely felt at home and when we needed help Louise was on the other end of the phone, she was brilliant throughout the whole process and guided us to the perfect weekend and wedding. We got most of our suppliers from a list they provided with trusted suppliers of everything and there was not one disappointment. Worth every penny, if only we could take everyone back there for our first anniversary 🤗 highly highly recommended!!
