Perfect setting for a unique wedding weekend
By Donna Kelly, on 17 Sep 2018Date of Wedding - 18 Aug 2018
Plas Dinam is a hidden gem in mid wales, and it really does not disappoint! If you‘re keen on a wedding / event that doesn’t feel cliche, or similar to other weddings you may have been to, then I urge you to check out Plas Dinam.
From the minute we landed and had our first visit with Jane we knew we had found the right place to get married - no sales pitch, just a friendly chat and the grand tour of the house: what I can only describe as utterly mind blowing! Once you’re past the beauty of the inside, then you need to take a breath before you see the grounds outside - views for days! The hosts are wonderful - so helpful, but really leave you up to your own devices (unless you need them for anything). Their attitude as hosts is ideal, very relaxed but with incredible attention to detail, and you’ll notice this in every corner of the house and grounds. From the welcome gift when we arrived, the beautiful flowers in the garden, the amazing lighting in the stables, to the thoughtful products placed in the rooms. I still can’t decide what I loved the most - the rooms, the grounds or the amazing stables! Our friends and family are still talking about what a fantastic and original venue it is a month later - there‘s so much room for creating a wedding or event that is truly unique. The atmosphere in the stables is electric, and it really isn’t like other venues we‘d seen.
It was so special but we couldn’t have done it without Eldrydd and Tyson’s insight around suppliers, timings and other logistics and their friendliness to all out of our guests.
Perfect Wedding Weekend Venue

I was lucky enough to grow up in the beautiful village of Llandinam. I'd been following Plas Dinam on social media for a few years and had already been eyeing it up as a potential wedding venue.
Pretty much as soon as we got we got engaged we booked a appointment to view the house and stables and instantly fell in love with it.
The main house is amazing, its still got so much of the original charm and character while still being modern. We loved the rustic-ness of the stables and it was the perfect venue for our wedding reception.
It was just the perfect venue for the perfect weekend.
The most magical place...EVER

We were lucky enough to find Plas Dinam on a search for possible wedding venues last year and we are so pleased that we found it. We booked the house for the whole weekend and filled all of the rooms with our closet friends and family for the most magical wedding ever! The old stables, which we decorated for our wedding reception were beautiful, the grounds and gardens were superbly kept and hosts were fantastic in the run up and during the weekend! We could not recommend a better place to get married or spend a long weekend with friends and family!

We had our wedding here May bank holiday weekend and (Although I may be slightly biased) it was the most perfect setting. Eldrydd, Tyson and Julie are the dream team and I cannot thank them enough. From the laid back but ‘on it’ demeanour of Eldrydd leading up to the day, to Tyson’s unflappable help getting everything ready - which included moving 100 chairs from the driveway to dining room when the heavens decided to open 15 minutes before our ceremony, to Julie who greeted us with open arms and managed to keep everything running like clockwork on the day, cracking the whip but having our guests in stitches with her amazing ability to tread the line between fun and ‘this really needs to happen now, and you’re helping me!’
It’s DYI in its most complete form, and if you want that, then you cant really find it much better. No corkage, no suppliers you HAVE to use (Although their list of recommendations are great), and room for your 35 closest family and friends to stay for the whole weekend.

Plas Dinam enabled us to stay alongside our family and friends for 4 nights, it was totally brilliant to be able to have our most important guests stay with us for a long weekend. The house itself is beautiful, every space is just so well put together. It had everything we needed and everybody was able to do their own thing but come together for group activities. The bedrooms were amazing and nobody had to feel like they were getting stuck with a second rate room! And the beds were fantastically comfy! We also had lots of compliments on the amazing bathrooms. The grounds and gardens were fabulous, and it definitely helped that we had four days of perfect sunny weather. Everybody particularly enjoyed being able to make delicious pizzas in the authentic pizza oven, and we rounded the weekend off with a campfire! It was also a bonus to be able to walk to a fabulous pub for a big group dinner. The setting for a wedding was perfect, with plenty of different spaces for the different parts of the day. Games and drinks on the lawns was super fun, and the stables were beautiful and rustic and we had the best time dancing until late. One of the reasons we picked Plas Dinam was because we would have the ability to DIY many elements of the day. Having the venue for 48 hours before the wedding enabled us to set things up exactly how we wanted things. Eldyrdd, Tyson and Julie were all totally amazing and we couldn't have pulled it off without them. They were present and available at all times without being overbearing or intrusive. Overall we are so glad we selected Plas Dinam for one of the best weekends of our lives!
Incredible wedding at Plas Dinam
By Gaby Sarll, on 03 Sep 2017Date of Wedding - 22 Jul 2017
Plas Dinam was the perfect setting for our wedding day. The house, with its 15 gorgeous bedrooms, huge kitchen, majestic dining room, games rooms (and more) easily accommodated us, our close family, and bridesmaids and ushers for the weekend. The house is so big it is easy (and fun) to get lost and we never felt on top of each other. The gardens and grounds, looking over the breath-taking Welsh mountains are simply stunning, especially the wild flowers on the front lawns in July. The barn, where we held our reception dinner comfortably sat our 115 guests, and we all stayed there well into the night to party.
Making the decision to stay at Plas Dinam for three nights was definitely the right one. Having our loved ones with us for the extended period of time meant the wedding felt longer and we enjoyed getting the house and grounds ready together on the Friday, and all went on a long walk on Sunday before enjoying a sing-a-long around the piano!
Eldrydd and Tyson were very helpful throughout the wedding planning process, giving us advice on
local accommodation, taxis, caterers and more, and helping us set up the barn and coming to our aid with some umbrellas when we had a (short, sharp!) shower ahead of the ceremony.
We have said we would like to return and celebrate our 10 year anniversary at Plas Dinam, it truly was a magical place to spend the weekend. We’d advise anyone reading this to give Plas Dinam serious consideration for any party/wedding you may be organising, it won't let you down!

Whilst we have no particular family/ancestral ties to Wales (we're from London), we chose Plas Dinam as our wedding venue because it seemed to offer everything we wanted from our day. It completely exceeded our expectations.
With rooms that could sleep up to 32 people all classily dressed, our guests loved staying there - the kitchens are well equipped, there's a tennis court and snooker table, and lovely reception rooms - you get exclusive use of the space, so it's not run like a hotel.
What appealed to us about Plas Dinam was the DIY nature of it - this is not a venue who pump out wedding after wedding every weekend of the year and tell you what to do, so there's lots of room for you to stamp your own mark on it. Pick your own wines, don't pay corkage, find your own caterers (though their recommendations are worth listening to), end the night at the time you want, stock the bar yourself, make it cash or not, do it up, don't do it up, set up a fire pit for stragglers to have whisky round at the end of the night, bring 400 sausages for a bbq the next morning. It'll feel like your own day.
We were blessed with the weather, but we also picked Plas Dinam because it's somewhere that would not be affected by a wet day - whilst the wildflower meadow of June is a huge plus, and the landscape it stunning, it's the indoor areas that make it.
Nothing but happy memories from a unique venue that stands out from the crowd.
What a wedding!

Plas dinam as a venue, was incredible. To hire such a wonderful home and be able to have the endless flexibility to make it our own really was something special.
To have a large group of our friends and family staying in one house was brilliant. The old stables and it's glass roof filled with sparkling lights was stunning.
Eldrydd and Tyson were phenomenal. They honestly couldn't do enough and nothing was an issue.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue. The relaxed yet professional attitude, the well maintained estate, the beautiful old stables - there's nothing more we could have asked for. Thank you, thank you, thank you x
Amazing and magical
By Nicola, on 05 Jul 2016
Eldrydd promised that Plas Dinam would be a magical place for our wedding party, and she was absolutely right. We really did have the most perfect time and the memories of our wedding will last a lifetime - not just for us, but for our guests too who without exception enjoyed every aspect of the party and its incredible setting. We felt very privileged to be able to stay at Plas Dinam and to hold our party there. It was clear that a huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes to make the house ready, easy to use and beautifully presented. Eldrydd's list of suppliers made the organising so much easier and everyone who we booked or used was brilliant and a great recommendation. We also appreciated all of Eldrydd and Tyson's hard work involved in getting us set up for the ceremony and the room cleared for the band. The bedrooms were very comfortable, all with lovely views, the reception rooms are wonderful and the house has something for everyone.
Beautiful wedding venue
By Emma, on 19 Jan 2016
We held our wedding here in August 2015. We definitely chose the right venue for us. From my initial enquiry Eldrydd was incredibly friendly and helpful. Eldrydd has very high standards and close attention to detail which is exactly what you want from someone helping you organise a wedding, however, she is completely approachable and relaxed at the same time.
The house itself is huge - I don't think I managed to see it all during the four days we were there! There were enough bedrooms to comfortably fit our immediate family and all the bridal party and not once did we feel on top of each other. Eldrydd & Tyson have done a stunning job with the restoration of the place. Everything felt luxurious without being pretentious or stuffy. The ground are beautiful and the views from every window are stunning. I didn't leave the grounds for four days and was really sad to say goodbye!
We were fortunate enough for the rain to hold off long enough to hold our ceremony outside (legally!) the front of the house. We had our reception in the old stables in the grounds - a really interesting space with beautiful old tiles, industrial beams and a concrete floor. Tyson was a tremendous help in the stables - he somehow managed to remain constantly present but never in the way while we were setting up. Nothing was too big an ask for him and the day after the wedding he got stuck right in with the cleaning up!
I can't thank Eldrydd & Tyson enough for all their help and for making sure we had the best wedding day possible. Looking forward to revisiting for an anniversary!
Amazing wedding venue

A phenomenal wedding venue! We truly could not ask for anything more. 3 fabulous nights and a stunning setting for our wedding weekend! We had the big house to ourselves, but Eldrydd and Tyson were available when needed to help everything run smoothly. We would highly recommend Plas Dinam for a wedding or lovely holiday house. We would love to go back!
Perfect venue for intimate wedding
By Jess Fisher, on 09 Oct 2014
Plas Dinam was the perfect venue for the intimate wedding we wanted. Hearing all to often that wedding days are over too quickly, we decided from the outset to have a weekend wedding: four days of fun with our closest friends and family, with extended family and other friends joining us for the 'big day'. After visiting several venues in Devon, which weren't particularly luxurious but with huge price tags, we discovered Plas Dinam via recommendation. It offers 15 luxurious bedrooms, all individually styled exuding a perfect balance of vintage and modern. The grounds are stunning; you have the choice of tennis court, football pitch, croquet pitch, with a mini forest and stream, and horses in a nearby field to visit. The house is big enough to comfortably sleep 32 and although it's an old house, and there is a sense of grandeur, it isn't in the slightest bit ostentatious. On our wedding day we were 92 in the evening and it felt intimate. We couldn't have asked for anything more from the venue - Eldrydd (the PD's manager) has a excellent suppliers list to help you with all your requirements. Would highly recommend Plas Dinam for anyone wanting an intimate wedding in the gorgeous Welsh countryside.
