Nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, Muckrach Country House is a beautifully restored Victorian country house offering an elegant and intimate setting for unforgettable Highland weddings.
Originally built in 1861 as a shooting lodge for the Clan Grant estate, Muckrach has been lovingly restored, retaining many of its original features, including its grand staircase and ornate plasterwork, whilst blending historic charm with contemporary luxury.
Whether you're planning a romantic elopement, an intimate celebration with your closest family and friends, or an exclusive-use wedding weekend, Muckrach provides a truly special setting where you can celebrate at your own pace. We came to view Muckrach around a year and a half ago and knew straight away it was exactly what we wanted for your wedding.
Fast forward to August 2025 we couldn’t have been happier with how our day and weekend went. We had the house and the lodges for a few days. All of our guests and suppliers were amazed with the venue.
We absolutely loved having our wedding celebrations here and couldn’t have done it without the incredible help of the team and flexibility we were given. Donnie was incredible and made everything seem completely hassle free.
If anyone is considering this as their venue we would highly recommend it! We can’t wait to hopefully come back one day.
