Weddings With a Wild Side.
Nestled in the Olchon Valley near Hereford in England's Herefordshire region, Lower House Farm is a picturesque barn wedding venue. Here, you can escape the world outside and reconnect with nature as you celebrate your once-in-a-lifetime day at the foot of the Black Mountains. Set amongst 70 acres of rolling hills, wildflower meadows, orchards, and streams, the property's charming 17th-century oak-framed barn has been lovingly restored. Take in the beautiful backdrop of the mountains, play lawn games in the meadows, or sneak off to the secret waterfall for some beautiful couple’s portraits. Then, as the sun goes down, toast marshmallows around the firepits and finish the day on a memorably charming note.
Facilities and Capacity
There are plenty of beautiful spots to choose from for hosting your ceremony at Lower House Farm, with stunning local churches or a ceremony at the farm. This includes the magnificent and ever popular oak tree sat on the edge of the Olchon Brook. If an outdoor ceremony isn't an option, there is also a wonderful covered yard space.
The oak-framed barn is an impressive space at the heart of the farm. It can seat up to 100 people for your wedding feast on long wooden tables and sheepskin-adorned benches. Come evening, there is the capacity for up to 140 guests to dance the night away. Light up the firepits and transform the barn into a dance floor, slip on your dancing shoes and make the evening one to remember.

One of the in-house wedding coordinators at Lower House Farm will work closely with you to help you make your dream a reality. They start the process with a venue tour and initial planning meeting to get to know your ideas. The farm's exclusive-use policy offers peace and privacy for your special day.
Cuisine
Catering for events held here is taken care of inhouse by Wild by Nature. Seasonal produce and sustainability are at the heart of everything they do, with simple dishes that let the food's freshness take centre stage. On their menus, you’ll find grass-fed beef and hogget along with free-range pork and home cured charcuterie, prepared right on the farm. Not forgetting the sourdough pizzas for the evening- delicious.

Above and beyond fantastic
We used their all inclusive package, which made wedding planning so much easier, they do all the difficult bits for you and we could enjoy doing the little details that make the day special. The suppliers we used through the all inclusive deal (DJ, photographer, florist) were all above and beyond what we expected, so friendly, helpful and above all talented at what they do, we couldn't of hoped for more from them. The whole day went off so smoothly, the food absolutely blew everyone away, as did the beautiful scenery in which it is set. I couldn't recommend these guys enough, Aime and Natalie went out of their way to make our dream day happen for us, they were open to all our suggestions and overall just really nice to work with. 5 stars, 10/10 could not fault.

We had a wonderful wedding at Lower House Farm. The venue was upfront about its pricing, with a real focus on high quality food, décor and a stunning area. The team were amazing at answering all of our questions, and making a wedding which was perfect to our needs. The venue has two stunning locations for the ceremony - the ancient oak tree is fabulous, but due to rain we instead had the ceremony under the covered yard, which with the addition of the new gate made for a beautiful wedding. Thank you Lower House Farm!

The most perfect wedding venue
The venue is gorgeousss, the landscape is breathtaking and it is clear that a lot of thought is put into the set up, design and management for weddings, which really shows in making the wedding personal to what you want. Natalie and Amie are just the best- so thoughtful, accommodating and organised, they made the planning process very easy and were on hand on the day to ensure it all ran smoothly.
The food is divine, I cannot recommend enough the Bulls Head Inn pub up the road as a side note and the catering on the day by their chefs was superb. Both us and our families stayed at their accommodation, Old Great Marlborough just down the road, a very grand house, beautifully designed and set up with everything you could possible need. It was such a treat to have this house for the whole weekend too and a real haven post- wedding. We had the most perfect time!

Nature-filled, beautiful location
We had such a great experience planning and having our wedding at Lower House Farm. We went for the all-inclusive package, and the whole process felt easy and well organised. The wedding was planned in nine months and we felt that it couldn't have gone better. The food was delicious, the location is phenomenally beautiful, the barn itself is so pretty. We were lucky enough to get married under their beautiful tree, but the wet weather option is also very beautiful.
The whole thing felt very non-commercial which was important to us.
Both of us would get married here again but hopefully we'll never need to!

Rustic barn wedding venue
If we could get married all over again, we would do it exactly the same. Lower house farm is a beautiful venue, family-run and focussed on good food with local produce.
We were so impressed with the staff from the first meeting all the way to our wedding day. Nothing was too big an ask, and they were completely professional on our wedding day. Some of our guests had dietary requirements and wanted to bring their own meal, and the venue staff didn't make them feel singled out at all, it felt like they were as welcome as anyone else.
We were recommended the venue based on the food and it didn't disappoint! All our guests thought the food was excellent.
We opted for some of our friends and family on site to camp, and it was wonderful to wake up in such a beautiful location the night after the party.

Perfectection
The venue was gorgeous.
Everyone working there was professional and friendly.
Natalie was amazing and communicated throughout.
We were given our own tray of canapes without asking.
The venue provided a fully vegan menu for us.
The inventory list of what we could borrow was extensive, and guests loved the games.

Dream Venue
Our wedding day at Lower House Farm was absolutely amazing and everything we hoped for. From start to finish Natalie and the whole team at Wild By Nature were so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfectly organised for the day. Everything about the venue including the spectacular views, the beautifully kept outdoor areas and the barn helped to make the day special.
The food was one of the reasons we chose Lower House Farm for our wedding - we loved how the produce is either from the farm or locally sourced, and the way it’s cooked over a fire outside is really unique. The dishes were absolutely delicious and plentiful - so many of our guest came and told us it was the best wedding food they’d had!
We also chose to stay at Old Great Marlborough House, the farmhouse owned by the venue, for the weekend which meant we could stay with our families and bridal party. The house is absolutely stunning, with so much character!! There’s so much space for everyone to get ready and makes for some beautiful photos! We loved that it gave us the space to continue the celebrations into the Sunday - it was really fun to have a bbq with family and friends and exchange stories from the previous day!
If you love nature, the outdoors and great food this is the perfect venue and we couldn’t recommend it enough!

September wedding
We had the most magical day celebrating our marriage at Lower House Farm. It is a truly wonderful venue in the most beautiful setting.
From start to finish, everything was easy when it came to organising our special day, with our venue coordinator Natalie on hand at all times for any questions or concerns we had. On the day everything ran seamlessly with a brilliant team.
The food and drinks are an absolute highlight and our wedding guests haven’t stopped talking about it since! Everything is sourced from the farm or locally and we loved their mission for sustainability.
We would really recommend this venue to nature lovers who love the outdoors and good food!

Amazing venue, setting and team!
We had the most beautiful wedding day at Lower House Farm and couldn't have asked for a more supportive or organised venue! Lower House Farm itself is an incredible setting - we had our ceremony under the oak tree which was beautiful and our meal in the barn, photos in the orchard and down by their waterfall. It really is such a special venue, surrounded by countryside and we fell in love with it as soon as we visited.
Amie was incredibly helpful and organised in the lead up to the day, arranging calls to talk things through and answer any questions, making the whole thing so smooth and stress free. We felt there was enough flexibility to make the venue our own and unique, and the team gave us plenty advice on how to make some of ideas for the day come to life, including a walking brass band and hanging decorations in the outside barn.
On the day the team went above and beyond to make sure everyone was catered for. The food was incredible and we've had so many of our guests comment on how friendly the staff were, and how delicious the meal and canapes were, which was a really important element for us. The attention to detail was amazing - we had quite a few guests with specific dietary requirements but they were given separate canapes and meals which meant we didn't have to worry.

We had THE BEST wedding at lower house farm. We booked it 2.5 years in advance there was hardly any stress it was super easy and Natalie our co ordinator was always on hand to answer any questions we had. They were very accommodating to allow multiple visits over the years and the food is just out of this world! We have had so many lovely comments on our wedding and our day was just perfect. Thank you

Would highly recommend!
The team at Lower House Farm couldn't have been kinder, more supportive and fun to work with. They made planning our day easy and straightforward. They are very organised! The venue is stunning, getting married outside under an ancient oak tree was very special. The food was amazing - lots of our guests said how delicious it was - just what we wanted! Thank you Amie and Natalie.
