Wedding at Kelham Island Museum
In the run up to the wedding, our wedding coordinator Anna was brilliant. She was always in communication with us no matter what the question was, made contact with all our vendors and arranged timings with them for the day. This helped me and my wife massively, Anna eased the organising of the day massively in the build up and it made it a lot less stressful for me and my wife.
On the day, the Kelham island team and in particular Anna were great, the day ran so smoothly from start to finish. They truely are experts at what they do.
Not many people can say this but our day was perfect, everything just flowed from the ceremony into the reception without any issues and this was no small part thanks to Anna.
We would 100% recommend this venue, not just how it turned out when it was set up, but the fact the people who organise the day for you take real pride in what they do.

An unforgettable day
We had both our ceremony and reception there and the spaces are amazing. We started in the Crucible room for the ceremony before moving into the museum for the drinks reception. Our guests had full access to the museum and were served canapes and drinks whilst a string quartet played in the background. We then moved upstairs to the function room which is a huge space and can be transformed to suit your own personal style. We especially loved the tiled wall and vintage clock. Many of the guest praised the uniqueness of the venue and felt it really captured essence of Sheffield.
The whole planning experience was enjoyable and the day ran seamlessly thanks to our wedding coordinator Anna. She honestly could not have done any more for us, going above and beyond to make our day special. She put us at ease every step of the way.
Thank you Kelham Island Museum for a wonderful day, we will cherish memories of it forever.
Interesting venue loved by guests with great service
Kelham Island Museum Wedding
We didn’t have our ceremony here (but you can!). We went across to the museum for our drinks reception, wedding breakfast, and evening reception and it was perfect!
The drinks reception can be held in the museum itself which is unique!
The room upstairs is a blank canvas and really can be decorated as much or as little as you want, it’s is perfect, and really gives the Sheffield industrial vibes!
The bar is set for you (The Real Kelham Events) so no leniency with this, but they were great - no issues what so ever! Catering wise, they have suggested catering teams - we used Roister - again amazing. If you wanted to use an external caterer, I believe there is just a small surcharge.
A big pro for us, is that we were able to go and set up the venue the day before, which a lot of venues don’t offer!
The communication from the venue leading up to the day was great. Anna was our co-ordinator on the day, and she was incredible. We met with her beforehand to go through everything we wanted on the day. She ensured everything ran smoothly and to plan! We honestly can’t thank her enough - She was amazing!
If you’re debating booking this venue, don’t! Just go ahead and book!

Great wedding venue
Perfect venue for a laid back wedding
It has an industrial charm and the reception room needs so little decoration due to its original features.
The team were so helpful and did everything they could to make our day just as we wanted it. Although there are some restrictions (I believe you are limited to certain caterers due to the venue not having a kitchen, and limitations on where confetti can be thrown), the team were flexible to our wishes.
Booking process was easy and we were welcome to view as many times as we needed. We had a very useful meeting with the wedding co-ordinator a week before which meant everything ran smoothly.
Extra points for not having to pack up the venue yourself on the night and not having to be there super early the next day to collect things.
We would highly recommend this venue - 10/10 would marry here again
