Intimate Wedding with Grand Style

Ironmongers' Hall was the perfect venue for our wedding, with just the right balance between grandeur and intimacy. All of our guests were thoroughly impressed, and the food was absolutely delicious. Nadia in the Events Team was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, and we couldn't be happier with how everything went. We are very grateful to her and the entire staff at Ironmongers' Hall for giving us the perfect day!

A brilliant experience and magical day

Having our wedding at the Ironmongers Hall was an absolutely fantastic experience. The location is stunning and impressive, as reflected by comments from our friends and family and our beautiful wedding photos. It's also great to have several rooms to work with, and the flexibility to craft your day in different spaces. I also cannot stress enough what a good experience we had working with the team at the Hall, their professionalism, attention to detail and responsiveness was outstanding, and they coordinated so well with all our vendors. We were delighted with the whole thing, and I really recommend as a wedding venue.

The perfect London venue!

We fell in love with Ironmongers' the first time we visited. The venue was ideal for our civil ceremony. It has the wow factor and manages to combine grandeur with an intimate atmosphere. We got married in December and the Hall looked fantastic with a Christmas tree and candlelight.

Throughout the planning and on the day, Alina (Events Coordinator at Ironmongers'), was amazing. Her attention to detail, professional approach and desire to ensure we had the perfect event made a massive difference.

Cannot recommend this venue and the team highly enough, if you are looking for a central London venue.

A fantastic venue for a perfect day

We would like to thank Paulina, Gabor and their team for everything they did to make our wedding such a huge success.

Location: it's very central and it works perfectly for our international guests. I love that it's a hidden gem. Low-key yet classy. Also perfect for site visits and meetings if you work in the City.

Venue: We fell in love with the Ironmongers' Hall the first time we saw it. The venue was breathtaking: the grand staircase, the banqueting hall, the courtroom, the little cute courtyard, the fireplaces, the portraits, the sculptures, the furniture...Everything was so charming that we didn't even need to decorate the venue with any flowers. The candelabras and ivy were already enough for the sit-down meal.

Food: amazing. My husband is from Spain and I am from Hong Kong. Our guests were from the UK, Australia, Thailand and all over the world - everyone from different cultures was very happy with the food.

DJ and music: we strongly suggest anyone who's going to hire the Hall to use the same DJ company. The DJ made our evening a memorable one and people like my dad who never danced, actually danced on the day!

Service: excellent. One of the reasons, if not the most important reason, for us to choose the Hall was Paulina. She was friendly, smart, professional, efficient, responsive, honest, flexible with requests and with a good sense of humour. There was almost no stress when it came to the logistics on the day. Paulina and her team made it work like clockwork. Everything went perfectly on the day and all our guests were extremely happy. You can't ask for more from an experienced event manager. It made a huge difference on the wedding day - thank you Paulina, Gabor and team!

Perfect London venue - phenomenal team!

We held our wedding (ceremony and reception) at Ironmongers' Hall and we had an absolutely fantastic day.
The Hall is a beautiful venue with a lot of character; it has all of the convenience of a City location, with a lot of historic charm and a quintessentially London feel.
Paulina and the team couldn't have been more helpful and professional both in helping us plan the wedding and in running the day itself. Nothing was too much trouble and Paulina had lots of great ideas and suggestions to make sure that we and our guests enjoyed the day.

The Perfect wedding venue

Ironmongers' Hall really was the most perfect wedding venue for our wedding.

When I was planning our wedding, we wanted to find a venue that would convince our overseas guests that the trip to the UK had been worthwhile. I must have made a list of over 100 venues in the UK.

Ironmongers' Hall is firstly, stunning. It's hidden in the Barbican, and it's like a secret gem. The inside is a grand, gorgeous building. The Great Hall is impressive as is the reception room. Every detail is gorgeous, from the lights to the paintings and the furniture. The atmosphere is romantic and otherworldly.

Most importantly though, the team at Ironmongers' Hall is incredibly professional and kind. There were so many venues and weddings I've been to that felt impersonal. However, Paulina and her team made an effort from the very beginning to make us feel welcome. We had some last minute emergencies - our alcohol order was cancelled, and we wouldn't have known EXCEPT for the fact that the team gave us a call the day before the wedding.

On the day of the wedding, everything ran like clockwork. Everyone commented on the service and the atmosphere.

It felt like we had entered a different world - candlelight, history, beautiful music - it really was magical. I highly recommend this gem as a wedding venue.

A big day made even better by slick management

I would wholly recommend Ironmongers Hall. Working in the hospitality industry myself, I have very high expectations.
From our initial meeting Paulina & Ed understood our needs and delivered our expectations, nothing was too much trouble.

The food was of excellent quality, I literally have nothing negative to say. The portions were a big size, they catered to dietary requirements and was well received by all the guests.

Their attention to detail is second to none. We didn't have to worry at all about anything on the day. Our glasses were always topped up, they preempted our requirements and were always on hand whoever ever needed.

The venue itself is stunning, very well maintained and has many beautiful backdrops for pictures.

The price points for the day are very reasonable, especially considering the lever of service offered.

We had the most memorable day, all of this helped by what i have explained above.
I cannot recommend this venue enough.

Truly amazing day

I kept meaning to write this but the year has passed so quickly. Charlie & I got married on 5th Jan 2013 and it was the best day of our lives partly down the amazing venue and service provided by Christina and Ed. We fell in love with the venue due to its uniqueness - a Tudor style venue is difficult to come by in London. From initial viewing to the day itself the service couldn't have been better. Christina was amazing setting up the contract and helping us to personalise our day for us. We were slightly concerned when she announced she was leaving the company but our fears we're soon put at ease when Ed took over. Nothing was too much trouble - he even took my calls during the Christmas break the week before the wedding! The food was amazing, staff on the day were excellent too. Thanks to all the team there who made the day so memorable.

The Perfect Wedding

We fell in love with Ironmongers' Hall the moment we stepped into it and choosing to have my wedding reception there was the best decision we have made.

The venue itself was amazing, all my guests commented on how grandeur the place was, you don't need any other decorations, just let the paintings, tapestries and their own decor speak for themselves!

All the staff at Ironmongers' were absolutely fantastic as well. Paulina and her team were extremely helpful from the very beginning of the planning. Weere impressed by their attention to details and we knew we were in good hands.

The day itself could not be any better, all the staff were friendly and professional, and the food was delicious! We knew everyone enjoyed the food when we saw many empty plates at the end of the meal.

Thank you for making our special day so perfect!

Amazing venue and top quality service 1 March '14

From start to finish, the staff at Ironmongers Hall helped to make our whole wedding experience perfect - from their up front approach to pricing (their packages are displayed on the site and there are no hidden extras), to their willingness to quickly answer all our questions, show us around (more than once) and just generally be very efficient, helpful, friendly and supportive. The food and service were excellent and we had a fantastic time going along for our tasting session where we had the hall almost entirely to ourselves. Everything went perfectly on the day, due to Paulina and Gabor's meticulous planning and service. Our guests thought the day was magical. We are still buzzing from the whole experience.

Perfect wedding venue

This building is a hidden gem in the heart of London. It has the most unassuming exterior, but I felt this added to the wow factor once inside. It has historical interest and is very well maintained, yet not pristine. The main hall is fantastic for a reception and we were also able to make use of some of the other rooms for different aspects of the occasion.
My main compliment is for the service that we received during and after the event. The team made planning easy. Food and wine were delicious and service during the meal was flawless. I really cannot thank them enough for surpassing our expectations!

The most wonderful place to get married in London

We received amazing help and assistance from the team at Ironmongers' Hall and the caterers. Everything ran like clockwork and was faultless. Our guests had a wonderful time and it is a wonderful setting to get married. It is hard to know what else to say because it was all so brilliant.

Absolutely faultless

We had our wedding at Ironmongers Hall in September 2012. Our ceremony was in the spectacular main hall and we then moved to a canapé reception in the adjacent drawing room. It is a thoroughly impressive venue: the walk in, up the staircase and through to the grand main hall was a great welcome for our guests (or via the lift in my Grandmother’s case!).

The communication in advance and on the day was spot on. Ed, Paulina and Christina were so unfailingly helpful and organised, it really took a lot of pressure off of us: we had complete confidence that everything was under control. They also helped us to incorporate some personal touches, such as our friend being allowed to play the rather special old grand piano in the main hall during the ceremony.

The catering team who ran our canapé reception were also superb: the service on the day was impeccable. And as for the canapés… it would have been worth it for those alone. We had a tasting in advance with the very helpful chef and I dare say the hardest thing about having our wedding in the Hall was narrowing our choices down to a final selection (still thinking about the mini beef wellington and vichyssoise verrine)!!

All the rooms proved a great backdrop for our photos, including squeezing our 90 guests on the staircase for some group shots. After Ironmongers we went on to our main meal and reception in Paternoster Square, which is just a short walk away. My husband and I slipped out a little earlier and made the most of the excellent location with photos on the steps of St Pauls, walking over Millennium Bridge and at the front of the Tate Modern – all in walking distance.

The dream wedding

We met Ed and Cristina almost a year before our wedding and booked in a matter if days.

Through the whole planning process they were attentive, professional, diligent and as interested in the detail as any bride could hope for.

Behind the scenes in the few days/hours up to wedding they worked hard to facilitate all our other suppliers getting into the hall without any problems; wine merchants, florist, photographer, band etc.

The reception itself was run with such efficiency and excellent service that the staff went almost unnoticed. The ability to offer such level of service ensured the whole reception ran to time and the party went on as long as we could dance for.

A number of compliments have been forthcoming regarding the service and the Ironmongers’ hall generally in thank you cards we have received. It is an unusual setting not being a hotel or marquee and many people commented on its magic and the space which allows guests to mingle and relax.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Ironmongers’ hall. It is a fantastic way to start married life and I only hope I can find an excuse in the future to work with Ed and Cristina and use the hall again.
