We booked the Crowne Plaza for our 60th birthday party/secret wedding celebration due to the location and we were not disappointed. The venue was ideal and the staff could not be more helpful in helping us arrange everything and to keep our wedding reveal secret. They went above and beyond to help us organise everything so that it went smoothly. The buffet was also excellent. A special mention for Carla and Kasey who were very friendly, professional and helpful. My only criticism would be communicating with the hub. Although, they answered any questions promptly they, on occasions, provided the wrong information. For example, one 3 separate occasions they planned a meeting for me at the hotel with a named member of staff but, when arriving the particular member of staff was not available. On one occasion we had to wait 45 minutes for a different member of staff to arrive. However, the staff at the hotel sorted out any problems and restored my confidence in that we had chosen the right venue. It's a shame that the Hub and hotel don't communicate with each other to ensure there are no worries/problems. Dealing with the staff at the hotel straight away was the ideal solution.
All the staff at the hotel, including the breakfast staff, reception (Charley), catering and bar staff and as mentioned previously; Carla and Kasey were an asset to the hotel. Thank you

We thought this was an excellent choice of venue for our wedding and would not hesitate in recommending it to other people. The team working there (Sophie and Carla) were first class right from the first time we met them through to the wedding day. We dealt primarily with Sophie who was very knowledgeable in answering all of our questions and sorting out the details of our wedding. What made this different to other venues we saw was how personally invested Sophie was in making our special day perfect. We had no issues leading up to the wedding and she was always on hand to answer our questions, mention things that we hadn't thought about and to essentially take the pressure away from us.

On the wedding day itself, the whole team were fantastic. The ceremony room and the "holding room" were set up just the way we imagined and that theme of taking pressure away from us continued from Sophie and Carla. The room dressing was done by a company called KRM (local Liverpool company) who were also very personable and easy to deal with. The buffet food was really good and went down extremely well! The team worked tirelessly all night and nothing was too much trouble for them. The bride and bridesmaids stayed the night before the wedding and were treated so well by the team.

The only criticism we would have for this venue is the remote team called The Hub. We had to deal with them on a few occasions, particularly when it came to agreeing pricing, the contract and paying the money. We didn't have good experiences with this team and, in such a contrast to the on-site team, we just felt like a business transaction to them as opposed to planning one of the best days of our lives! Based on our experience, we would advise for all actions to do with wedding bookings to be dealt with by the local team (Sophie and Carla) rather than this remote Hub team as they are more than capable of doing this. Their person-centred approach allows you to build a trusting relationship with the on-site team as opposed to someone at the other end of the phone.

Overall, we were extremely happy with our choice of venue and were thankful to have the staffing team that we had. We would like to thank all of them for making our day so special.
