Originally built in 1868, the Cheyne Walk Club was originally home to the 1867 mayor of Northampton, James Norman. After, the property then became home to the Church family, who are still internationally renowned for their high quality shoes. With small reminders of the property’s history dotted around the building, from Alfred Church’s initials in the stained glass and inscribed over the fireplace, you are sure to get that home away from home feel for your big day.
Now a private members club formed in 1929, originally for members of the Chamber of Commerce, it is often referred to as one of Northampton’s best kept secrets.
Offering our guests a high quality, traditional atmosphere, we provide you with a place to enjoy your wedding reception, whether it be a small function or a grand celebration.
The catering facilities at the Cheyne Walk Club are second to none and we have two separate dining rooms depending on the size of your function. We are able to offer a variety of catering options to suit your requirements, whether you'd like a full two or three-course wedding breakfast or just a simple buffet for guests to graze at their leisure.
Serving a full selection of wines, lots of excellently kept beers and a selection of unique and exciting cocktails, your guests are sure to toast your big day in style. We can also offer welcome drinks packages to make sure your guests are refreshed from the moment they arrive!
The fully loaded flower gardens and manicured lawn area can be enjoyed from the comfortable garden furniture, or alternatively, should the weather be against you, you can enjoy the view from the comfort of the main bar through the lead-glazed windows.
