Azienda Agraria Il Castagno, in Florence, Italy, is a wedding venue located in a panoramic position at 500 meters above sea level in the territory of Gambassi Terme. The structure consists of various spaces: a dining room with a vaulted ceiling, an immense park, a charming swimming pool ideal for setting up your wedding buffet, apartments and rooms, and the church. Azienda Agraria Il Castagno Agricultural Estate has spaces to accommodate ceremonies of over 100 guests, in an elegant and refined environment.

Services Offered

The park of approximately 130 hectares is characterised by a great variety of trees and plants, and a small lake with swans. The space is the ideal backdrop for taking your photos and immortalising your love in a dream setting. Additionally, it's possible to set up the banquet outdoors during the pleasant seasons.

The rooms and apartments are furnished in harmony with the villa's elegance and are suitable for hosting your guests. The accommodations have a capacity of 110 beds. Services of every type are available to guests.

You can choose to celebrate your religious wedding ceremony in one of the beautiful churches of San Gimignano (10 km away), or your civil union in the Palazzo Pretorio of Certaldo (10 km), in the historic palace of Volterra (10 km), or even in the private park of our manor villa.

Historical Notes

The villa was built in 1660 by the Ruccini family of Florence, a senatorial family that used to use the residence during the summer months. Inherited in 1815 by the Marchesi Capponi of Florence, the villa hosted His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Tuscany on various occasions before passing, in 1834, into the hands of Marchese Attilio Incontri.

Il Castagno originally extended from the Era river to the Elsa river with its thousands of hectares. Over the centuries, it became a typical example of a farm, and in 1998, it was purchased by the Bottai family, who, as evidenced by its current reputation, have managed to restore its ancient 17th-century beauty.
