About

Rebekah Watson Poet, based in Leicester, allows you to add something original and different to the wedding celebration in the form of meaningful, bespoke poetry.

Bespoke Wedding Poetry: your love story, written just for you

Every couple has a story that no one else could tell: how you met, the small moments that made you certain, the inside jokes nobody else gets. I turn those moments into original poems for your wedding day, written for the two of you and no one else.

What I offer

  • Personalised vow poems: help putting what you feel into words, whether you want something tender, playful or a bit of both
  • Ceremony readings: a unique piece for a friend or family member to read in place of the usual standards
  • Speech and toast poems: a rhyming tribute for the best man, maid of honour or parent of the couple
  • Live performance (premium): I'll perform your poem in person at your ceremony or reception, drawing on years of performing internationally as a poet and hip-hop artist. A memorable moment for your guests, with no pressure on anyone in your wedding party to speak.

What it's like working with me

It begins with a relaxed chat or a short questionnaire about the two of you: how you met, what you love about each other, the places and memories that matter. I'm listening for the details that make your story yours: the dog who brought you together, the disastrous first date, the song you always dance to in the kitchen.

From there I write a first draft and and share it with you for feedback. Every poem includes one round of edits before I write the final version. until it sounds exactly right. Some couples want something that brings guests to tears; others want something that makes the whole room laugh. Most want a little of both, and I'm happy to write in whatever tone suits you.

Why couples choose me

I've been writing poetry for over 20 years. Alongside my writing, I'm a hip hop artist and have performed internationally, including a tour of China. That background means I write for the ear as well as the page: your poem will have rhythm and flow, and it will feel natural to read aloud, even for guests who are nervous about speaking.

In my day job, I use poetry in leadership development, helping people find the words for what matters to them. I've also spent more than a decade working in Higher Education, so you can rely on me to be organised, professional and on time. With a wedding, that matters.

Most of all, people describe me as warm and easy to talk to. There's no judgement and no pressure to be "poetic": just tell me about the two of you in your own words, and I'll do the rest.

"You summed them up perfectly and brought tears to my eyes." [Ted, father of the bride, 2026)
