But because our venue was a public hall, we needed a coordinator, which led us to Beth at Alt Events. From the very first conversation, she filled us with confidence and even showed us how she could actually save us money. Hiring her turned out to be the best decision we made for our wedding.
Beth took all the stress off our shoulders. Every email, every bit of communication went through her, which made everything so much less overwhelming. She even managed the setup and take down at the venue, which meant the stress for us and our families was kept to an absolute minimum. Not only did she make the process easier, but she also got us better deals and options than we could have found on our own. For example, we wanted a band, and she sourced us better and more affordable choices than we ever expected.
On the day itself, she was incredible. She managed everything seamlessly, and we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. We were able to just enjoy the day knowing it was all in her hands. By the end, she didn’t just feel like our wedding planner – she felt like a friend.

Are you planning a DIY wedding? If so, you need Beth. No, absolutely, you need her if you want to feel relaxed on your wedding day and able to take it all in, while knowing that absolutely everything is in hand. You will also make a friend in the process - it was amazing to have Beth by our side as we went through what could have been quite a stressful process.

We first met Beth about a year and a half out from our June 2024 wedding and we instantly got on so well. We had a pretty clear idea for the theme and location, but really felt we needed help in making it all a reality: finding the right suppliers, knowing where to save and where to splurge and in thinking of all the little details that make the day run seamlessly.

Beth went above and beyond for us from the start, working with us throughout the process to make sure everything was as we wanted. Beth has a vast network in the wedding and hospitality industry and made sure our suppliers matched our vibe and budget. Many of our guests commented that the ceremony and food were some of the best they’d ever experienced at weddings and these were both suppliers that Beth recommended. If you’re concerned about the cost of having a wedding planner – don’t be. Beth helped us save money across the board, so our overall budget didn’t change, but we had complete peace of mind throughout the process.

Where Beth really comes into her own is during a crisis! We had a few, none of them Beth’s fault, just to be clear! On each occasion, Beth already had a Plan B (and C!) ready to go, or she had already solved the issue. From having to change our ceremony location due to a rogue BMX festival (no, really…) to sorting a new stage a day before the wedding when a supplier couldn’t deliver due to personal circumstances, Beth got it sorted. She even drove halfway to Liverpool the morning before the wedding to source us a new free lindr machine (you need this to pour beer) because the one at our venue had the wrong connectors for the kegs we bought. I can’t imagine how stressed out we would have been if it had been up to us to find a crucial piece of specialist equipment less than 24 hours before the wedding, but it was all fine due to Beth’s ingenuity and tenacity.

Thanks to Beth, we had happy guests, drinks flowing, seamless service and a day that we’ll look back on with so much joy for the rest of our lives. Thanks so much, we couldn’t have done it without you!!

Beth is fantastic! We had our wedding last year and couldn't have had a better day! Both beforehand and on the day, Beth took care of everything that was a worry to us. Beth was so super helpful when I was planning my wedding. With two small children, a partner working overseas and trips here there and everywhere it was impossible for me to plan the finer details and how the day would be coordinated by myself! Beth has so much experience in the service industry, she helped me figure out how to find good suppliers, work out exactly what we needed at what time and pull all the strings together so that the day went off without a single hitch! A DIY tipi wedding was a huge undertaking and Beth had it all figured out - each supplier worked briliantly with one another. Beth even helped me decorate the tipis and clear down the following day.
