07 Mar, 2026Our Real Wedding
Where do I start? Our day was full of spookiness and silliness. We danced down the aisle together and shocked our guests. Our ceremony was personal, beautiful and funny. Starting with our story, crystals to wish us love, Handfasting to tie the knot, vows and finishing off with jumping the broom. We exchanged our handmade (by us) wedding rings.
We flew away through the confetti and had some couples photos taken whilst our guests grabbed drinks and mingled. Then laughed and laughed at the silly speeches, finishing off with the Beetlejuice dance to banana boat song! Followed by our delicious wedding breakfast food. We had witch hat Napkins and Halloween crackers, filled with jokes, hates and silly toys.
We had a through-the-years display out on the table, which shows from the moment we met until the day we got married. Our family and friends looked over this in awe. We had an entertainment table which included props and a Polaroid for special selfies; Temporary tattoos, and board/card games. This meant there was entertainment for those who were not big dancers. We also provided a Marshmallow stand in a coffin (made by my dad) next to the fire pit. This helped those with a sweet tooth!
Continue reading »Our main entertainment was a fire dancer. She performed so beautifully, everyone watched as she swung around the fire as it sizzled away. She finished each set with a blow of flaming fury! Our gift table displayed our loved ones who couldn't celebrate with us in person but were definitely celebrating on the other side. We also decided to have a guest skull instead of a guest book, this way we can display it, and it looked amazing!
We decided that we wanted a cheese tower instead of a cake, as we thought it would suit us far better. So that was delivered with a beautiful fruit display, and we sliced it together with our Axe! Then we had our first dance that was both magical and silly, we had dips and lifts and twerking! Then we spent the night dancing to all our favourite songs! Whether it be the cha cha slide, chop suey or Sabrina Carpenter! We asked for an Irish good byes, as we decided to enjoy the night!
We did a lot of DIY and budget friendly decor which not only saved a chunk of money, it also allowed us to make things more personal and gave me more control. Which is what I like and what I needed! All of our vendors were amazing, and I couldn't recommend them more highly: Stretton Manor Barn, The Style Lounge, Third Eye Photography, Wonderland Ceremonies, Cromford Mill Cheese Shop, Alisha Twine (AST Entertainment), Legend Bridal Designs, FORT S.J.S Smith jewellery.
