From our very first interaction with Dougi, he made us feel at ease. Nothing was too much trouble. Firstly, we met up for a coffee and a chat- there was absolutely no pressure to book, but we knew there would be no-1 else.
Dougi’s down to earth nature was exactly what we both wanted and needed for our special day. We are a no fuss, no rigid plan, no staged photographs required couple….. and that’s exactly what we got.
Dougi captured our day as perfectly as it was, the smiles, the laughs, the happy tears, the dancing….. everything was captured exactly as we wanted it: in the moment.
All of our guests commented on what a lovely photographer we booked, how he was there but not there! Always capturing the natural moments!
We can’t thank you enough, Dougi! Thank you for making our day look exactly as it was: perfect. Everyone has commented on how happy we look in every photos, and I feel that’s down to the fact that Dougi captured us in our natural stance and not forced.

What a pleasure it was working with Dougie on our wedding. He is a gem of a guy, relaxed and easy to work with and even managed to get some great photos of me ( I hate being photographed). We had a pre wedding shoot that helped us get to know his ways which was great fun and on our wedding day he guided us through some great pics, but was never in our faces. He blended in like a guest and took some beautiful natural pictures of us and our guests. A pure joy and our guests loved him. He is filled with joy on your day and we cannot recommend him enough. We had our wedding ceremony on the beach and made a point of keeping it light and casual. Dougi could not have been a better man for the job. The meet and greet before the wedding day helped break the ice. We also got some fantastic pre-wedding photos with the dog to boot. He kept the formal photos to a minimum (as requested) and subtly went about capturing some moving and candid moments. He captured the casual atmosphere to a tee. Very flexible. He even returned to the beach late at night when after we lit the bonfire for some dramatic fire shots. -

We had an amazing experience with our wedding photographer, Dougi! His communication was excellent from start to finish, always making sure we felt comfortable and informed. On the big day, he put us completely at ease, helping everything flow naturally. Our wedding guests have all commented on how great he was on the day. We couldn’t be happier with how beautifully he captured every special moment.

We came across Dougi when looking for a photographer that could produce really natural photos of our wedding. Neither of us are particularly posey people and didn’t want to spend any length of time standing still. Dougi was everything we were looking for and the offering of a ‘pre wedding’ shoot was really appealing to us. We booked 2 years before the wedding and he kept in touch the entire time offering assistance and checking in. Then it came time for our pre shoot, Dougi was really flexible with dates and times and met with us in Edinburgh on a very busy day! He put us at ease instantly over a coffee and seemed genuinely interested in chatting about our lives and wedding. I noticed he had been following us both on social media for a while at this point so he had a good idea of our personalities which I think is a great touch. The shots he got on that day were so fun, he was really easy to follow and you could just see his creative mind at work. We got them back so quickly too.
The Wedding Day - he arrived and brought an air of calm to the suite. I was much more relaxed than anticipated and he just got straight to work, the pictures of the bridesmaids all ready are some of my favourite overall! He was so subtle that morning you wouldn’t have known he was there if he wasn’t making you laugh.
We got married on the day of Storm Darragh and the wind could’ve taken you away, that and it felt like -5 outside… Dougi was really quick in getting our outdoor shots and you wouldn’t know from the pictures that we were absolutely Baltic!
The rest of the night he bounced around and captured loads of great memories for us, people have said they had no idea he was there on the dance floor and has caught so many lovely moments as a result.
Nothing was forced with Dougi, he’s so easy to get along with and his wealth of experience is just so obvious in his work. We couldn’t recommend him more highly if we tried. Don’t look any further than him for gorgeous candid memories of your day! -

From the day we had our initial meeting with Dougi in Edinburgh to the actual big day, Dougi's warm and friendly demeanor immediately put us at ease, making our wedding day even more special. Dougi always made us comfortable to trust his process and his ideas which all translated amazingly. His ability to blend seamlessly with our guests and capture authentic moments was truly impressive. From the very beginning of the day’s activities, the heartfelt exchange of vows at the ceremony, the festive and lively drinks reception, to the unforgettable speeches and joyful dance floor, he truly captured the essence of our celebration.
The stunning photographs with the backdrop of the historic Balmoral Hotel, with its grandeur and elegance, perfectly complemented the beauty of our wedding day. The album he created is a timeless treasure, filled with memories that will be cherished for generations.
We are eternally grateful to Dougi for his talent, professionalism, and dedication. His work has exceeded our expectations and provided us with a beautiful visual record of our special day.
