The best photographer out there!
We use Clarkie for her engagement photoshoot and I fell in love with his work. He is so professional, talented, and just a joy to work with. Now, 3 years after our engagement shoot, he is doing my first baby shoot with my newborn and I can’t wait to see those pictures. Do yourself a favor and book him for your next photo shoot. -

Stop your search and book Rich immediately! My husband and I are absolutely speechless over our incredible wedding photos. If you read nothing else in the review below just read this: Rich is beyond talented. He's so much fun to work with, and his photos breathtakingly captured the magic and joy of our day. A couple of years back, we had the pleasure of meeting Rich at our close friend's wedding and we were so impressed by their beautiful photos that we knew that he would be the first (and only) photographer we reached out to once we were engaged. Thank goodness the stars aligned and Rich was available for our wedding date, because I simply cannot imagine our wedding day photographed by anyone else. Working with Rich feels like hanging out with an old friend - he's incredibly down-to-earth, super fun to be around, and brought amazing energy throughout a very hot 100 degree day. Rich's photos are truly magical because not only was he able to capture what seemed like every single element of our wedding day (seriously, it was so impressive), but he did so in a way that so perfectly depicted our personalities, emotion, and love for one another. It's difficult to put into words but his photos truly exude exactly who we are as a couple. Every time we look at them we get emotional. Rich somehow managed to be in one hundred different places at once, and whenever we look through our wedding gallery (all the time!), we continue to be completely flabbergasted at how many incredible and unique shots Rich took. And every. single. shot. is special - we have no favorites because they are ALL favorites. It's seriously mind blowing how he managed to stealthily capture so many beautiful and intimate moments of joy and laughter in a way that feels completely organic and natural. When we received our gallery back, the slideshow Rich put together for us was so beautiful that we immediately broke into tears as we were transported back to our day. Many of our friends and family that we have shared photos with have expressed that they are the most beautiful wedding photos they have ever seen. Rich is so so talented, and we are just beyond grateful for the incredible memories he so beautifully captured for us. Working with him was everything we were hoping for in our wedding photographer and more, and we would absolutely recommend him to anyone. Rich, you are the absolute best - THANK YOU!! -

My husband and I are beside ourselves over Clarkie's incredible photos from our rehearsal dinner and wedding day!!!! We will always remember the overwhelming amount of love that we felt flooded with on the most special day of our lives, but his photos really sealed the deal on that. We started our search really wanting to find a photographer who could capture the candid moments, and Richard delivered on all we could have hoped for, plus more. We cannot thank him enough for covering every single special moment, with such an honest and true eye for everything!! His attention to detail, plus his ability to capture the big picture is UNREAL. In addition, my husband and I, plus our family and friends thoroughly enjoyed his presence. He seamlessly fit in throughout the day, making us and our guests laugh, while also helping us feel very natural and comfortable throughout the more formal, posed picture taking process. Not to mention, he did it all in 105 degree weather, without complaining once!! My husband and I are so in love with all of these photos and we will most definitely be re-visiting the album we received from Clarkie, reminiscing for a veryyyy long time from now. His photos are truly works of art, and we can't wait to have our favorite images printed for our home, although I'm not sure how we'll be able to choose just a few from the 1,000+ incredible ones he delivered. Rich was absolutely fantastic! We were looking for an artistic and candid style, not just someone who would get the typical posed pictures, and he definitely exceeded that expectation. He not only captured the most spectature shots of our Catalina Island wedding, but really preserved the story of the full day. Rich was also amazing to work with! When planning, I didn't quite realize how much time you spend with your photographer and what an impact they have on your general enjoyment throughout the day. He was fun, funny, flexible, efficient, and somehow made everyone feel totally comfortable, which I think really showed in the pictures. He also took the time to have a few prep calls with, which was much appreciated! Overall, I'm so happy to have met Rich, so glad he was a part of our day, and so thrilled with the final outcome! -

Chelsea Sent on 14/03/2023Best Wedding Decision We Made
Chelsea: I stumbled upon Clarkie Photography by chance, looking at Alaskan wedding venue photos on Google and something drew me to the style of the photography. I then realized Richard was based out of LA, and we live in Alaska so I tried to get his photos out of my head, as it was probably not ideal to fly a photographer here. I continued to search for other photographers but I felt like I was going to be settling. My husband looked at his photos and with a little convincing, got to be as excited as I was, so we contacted Rich...Best. Decision. Ever! From the moment we first talked with him he made us feel comfortable and was a breeze to talk with. He offered to do an engagement shoot for us in Alaska, as he just so happened to be flying here for another wedding that summer. We were both a little nervous being in front of a camera like that for the first time but he made it so much fun and so enjoyable. The photos we received were mind blowing. Adam and I both knew that we had made the right decision, even if we did get a few weird looks from family and friends when we would tell them we were flying a photographer in from LA. Then came the time for our wedding. Communication was perfect, he answered any questions we had, and made us 100% comfortable. He arrived wedding day bright and early and was there throughout all the chaos. There was a moment where he even told me to breath, calming me down since my nerves were clearly obvious, moments before walking down the aisle. He just seems like he cares, he is passionate about his work, and for the day, is a part of the family even though he is there for a specific job. My family and friends absolutely adored him. We have had nothing but amazing comments about how fun he was and I can't even put words to how much we love the gallery and slideshow we have now received from our big day. He's a photography wizard and deserves all the praise possible. Thank you so much Rich. Adam and I both appreciate your hard work and will cherish these photos forever.
Adam: When my wife told me she wanted a photographer from LA, I thought she was insane. As a guy, I didn't have many considerations or expectations in a photographer other than a reasonable price; and all that I could think about was the extra cost of a plane ticket. Also as a guy, I wasn't allotted much say in the situation... So we went with Rich. I'm sure I'll get used to saying this, but my wife was right. From the moment we spoke to him I knew he was the right guy. He absolutely blew me away. His photo's were amazing, his attitude was amazing, his interaction with everyone was just simply amazing. He made everyone feel so comfortable, he made us genuinely laugh when needed, and he caught every single moment we could have asked for. Sure, its easy to make my wife look good, so I can't credit him too much on that aspect; but to make MY butt look less chunky than normal?! That's borderline magic. Which is why he has been dubbed the wizard of photography (by me). I would recommend Wizard Rich to literally anyone for anything that needs photographed; unless you don't like perfection. -

Fiona Sent on 24/03/2023Wow! Rich you are original, a talent, tireless, creative, a total legend, the best photographer we could have picked and above all a friend.
Steve and I had the pleasure of knowing Rich when he lived in the UK before he became a professional photographer. When we got engaged Rich was the only person we wanted to shoot the wedding, however he had moved to LA and has since become one of the most sought after wedding photographers in the business. Fortunately though, and to our absolute delight Rich was in the UK on the 20th August and agreed to shoot our wedding at Northbrook Park, in the Hampshire countryside just outside London. Rich was at the venue when I arrived at 9am running about in the rain (after all it is the great British summer!) trying to direct our limo through very tight corners. Knowing Rich made the day even more special and his interaction with our guests was out of this world. He captured every laugh, every tear, every special moment and having just looked at our pictures we cried, laughed out loud and feel transported back to the day....
Particular highlights are my dad lifting his kilt, Steve getting emotional at the Ceremony, my Maid of Honour chasing a runaway dress, a sexy leg/garter shot and some ‘special’ dance moves pulled off by our guests. The wedding was full of love and laughter and this is projected in the images Rich has taken. Rich is the most hardworking, professional and down to earth guy and it is a privilege that he is part of our lives. He went the extra mile and beyond to capture images that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. When we shared the slide show with our friends and family the one resounding word that came back was ‘Wow!’. Rich you are original, a talent, tireless, creative, a total legend, the best photographer we could have picked and above all a friend. Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts. Fiona & Steve
