Hey there! I'm Gary Williams, an award-winning wedding photographer, and I specialise in capturing beautiful, natural moments for people who don’t like to pose.
My work has been exhibited in galleries worldwide, featured in books, published in The New York Times, and even displayed on billboards. Most impressively, it's also been printed on tea towels!
Before moving to London, I spent most of my life in Grimsby (home of fish and chips), so you'l find me down-to-earth and straightforward. Before photography, I was a full-time singer, performing everywhere from Buckingham Palace to Carnegie Hall—so I know how to handle high-pressure moments and deliver when it really counts.
What I love most about wedding photography is capturing real, heartfelt moments—the kind that take you straight back to your day, make you smile, laugh, and maybe even shed a tear. Telling your story through images that feel alive and full of emotion is what truly excites me.
I’ve been honoured to have my work featured in The New York Times, ArtDoc Photography Magazine, World of Interiors Magazine, and Dodho Magazine (Photography Awards). My photos have been officially selected for the International Photography Awards, received Honourable Mentions in the London Photography Awards, and been included in the Historic England National Archive. I’ve exhibited at Decode Gallery in Arizona, the Hellenic American Union Annual Exhibition, Art Square Gallery in New York, the Chania International Photo Festival, the Trieste Photo Festival, the Glasgow Gallery of Photography (Masters of Street Photography), the Shutter Hub Annual Exhibition at Cambridge University, and F-Stop Magazine’s 20th Anniversary Exhibition.
And of course, I love wedding photography, which is why I was thrilled to win the Hitched Wedding Awards 2024. But at the end of the day, the accolades don’t matter as much as you and your story—that’s what truly matters to me.

More than just a photographer
Having Gary as part of our wedding day was an absolute pleasure. From the very first conversation, his attentiveness and deep knowledge of London weddings gave us complete confidence. On the day, Gary put everyone at ease and made the whole experience enjoyable—we were more than happy to trust him completely.
Despite us being two very awkward people in front of the camera, Gary managed to put us at ease and capture amazing, natural candid shots that truly reflect the atmosphere of the day. Prior to meeting us on the day he explored the area to plan some of the images he would like to try and capture in advance, which made the shots so much easier, especially given the challenge that it was Chelsea Christmas lights switch on and extremely busy.
He went above and beyond and stayed up late that night, getting the images ready for us to view online so we had access to them the day after the wedding which was incredible. When we were looking through the album we were blown away at the quality of the images and the moments that Gary had managed to capture, there were lots of moments where we didn’t even realise he was there.
He wasn’t just a photographer; he felt like a guest and a wedding coordinator at times, keeping everything and everyone on track. We couldn’t have asked for more and would not hesitate to recommend Gary to anyone looking for a talented, friendly, and professional photographer.

Absolutely love this guy
Gary was absolutely brilliant from start to finish, made everything perfect. We felt so comfortable and confident. Gary was the perfect photographer, took some great pictures and made all our guests feel at ease…. He was very open to what pictures we wanted. Gary is very light hearted, friendly and exceptionally professional. We would highly recommend him. Our wedding was very small but he made us feel like we were the most special people in the world. The photos are amazing. Gary captured every moment, every smile, every hug and I felt like a princess. Gary is such an easy going guy. Once again. We cannot recommend Gary highly enough!
We could not have been happier with our choice of Gary as photographer for our important day and we are delighted with the photos we have to remember it by!
Gary clearly takes great photos but what really differentiated him was how he worked with us for a couple of hours through both our small ceremony and at a few locations immediately afterwards. Gary was never intrusive, he tuned in so well to the moment and he was prepared to accommodate our (sometimes slightly crazy!) ideas, gently making suggestions in a timely way to ensure we got great pictures. It felt like he joined us in the rush of energy and joy we were experiencing and captured the moment so well. In addition to the great pictures we have, we will look back and remember how much fun we had working with Gary on the day.

Amazing Wedding Photograpgher! A Joy to Work With
Working with Gary was absolutely perfect! From the minute we met, we felt he was attentive, friendly and really took joy in his work. Extremely professional and hard working and our pictures speak for themselves! Amazing photographer who went above and beyond to ensure he captured our day perfectly. From the moment we booked him, Gary was a dream to work with: highly communicative, always available for questions, and somehow delivered the final photos faster than we ever expected.
Gary knows Islington Town Hall inside out – staff, spaces, hidden corners – which meant we were whisked into all the best spots and had everything running seamlessly. He somehow wrangled our entire family (including eight excitable children!) with ease, making group shots fun rather than stressful. Everyone instantly felt relaxed and at ease.
Gary also knew the area around the Town Hall so well, taking us to unique locations for couple shots. We held a casual dinner celebration at The Drapers Arms immediately following the wedding, and he blended in as though he was one of the family, capturing the most fantastic, candid shots of everyone celebrating and all the little moments we would have missed.
Gary is exceptionally talented, fun, personable, and professional in equal measure. The photos speak for themselves, as they're natural, joyful, and full of life. He was the perfect photographer for our wedding, and we can’t recommend him highly enough!

Book Gary!!
Gary shot our wedding in Hackney last weekend. Oh gosh, Gary is simply Devine. He made us feel at ease all day. The finished pictures were just incredible and Gary really got our vibe. Wonderful service and photos!
Gary was great to work with — both in the lead up to the day and the day itself he was professional and reassuring. We wanted an understated, elegant style that made both ourselves and our guests feel at ease — he definitely delivered on all fronts.
