Hey there! I'm Gary Williams, an award-winning wedding photographer, and I specialise in capturing beautiful, natural moments for people who don’t like to pose.
My work has been exhibited in galleries worldwide, featured in books, published in The New York Times, and even displayed on billboards. Most impressively, it's also been printed on tea towels!
Before moving to London, I spent most of my life in Grimsby (home of fish and chips), so you'l find me down-to-earth and straightforward. Before photography, I was a full-time singer, performing everywhere from Buckingham Palace to Carnegie Hall—so I know how to handle high-pressure moments and deliver when it really counts.
What I love most about wedding photography is capturing real, heartfelt moments—the kind that take you straight back to your day, make you smile, laugh, and maybe even shed a tear. Telling your story through images that feel alive and full of emotion is what truly excites me.
I’ve been honoured to have my work featured in The New York Times, ArtDoc Photography Magazine, World of Interiors Magazine, and Dodho Magazine (Photography Awards). My photos have been officially selected for the International Photography Awards, received Honourable Mentions in the London Photography Awards, and been included in the Historic England National Archive. I’ve exhibited at Decode Gallery in Arizona, the Hellenic American Union Annual Exhibition, Art Square Gallery in New York, the Chania International Photo Festival, the Trieste Photo Festival, the Glasgow Gallery of Photography (Masters of Street Photography), the Shutter Hub Annual Exhibition at Cambridge University, and F-Stop Magazine’s 20th Anniversary Exhibition.
And of course, I love wedding photography, which is why I was thrilled to win the Hitched Wedding Awards 2024. But at the end of the day, the accolades don’t matter as much as you and your story—that’s what truly matters to me.

Felix and Sophie wedding
Working with Gary was a really great experience. We were not particularly familiar with the venue of Islington Town Hall but Gary had worked it more than a few times. We spoke over the phone and we talked through some ideas and he filled me with confidence. We then had a video call with me and my partner involved and he talked us through timings and some things we hadn't thought about or weren't even aware about for registry weddings at Islington. All of this was before we even committed to using him. We did, as we felt very confident in his ability to help orchestrate the necessary photos in the time we had in the venue. We're so glad we did. Gary has given us an amazing collection of memories in some stunning photos, a short Instagram reel and a lovely 3 minute video, with some elements of the ceremony he captured with a microphone. We honestly couldn't be happier with the outcome and I would highly recommend Gary Williams to other couples.

Charisma and efficiency!
If I could give me more than 5 stars I would.
Gary is a true legend. He is full of charisma, efficiency and patience. He's worked against the clock to get our photos in incredible timing after our wedding. Gary got so many candid shots, he was a ninja- we didn't notice him there for some wonderful wholesome and pivotal moments. He also managed to get amazingly beautiful photos with fading daylight and with many groups to get through. I couldn't have asked for more and he made me feel very calm, special and comfortable. We are both so thankful to you Gary!

Wow! Amazing photos.
Look no further than Gary as your wedding photographer! We couldn’t be happier with our photos.
As a couple, we don’t feel comfortable posing for photos, Gary made us feel at ease, he blended in with our guests and that has resulted in some amazing photos. He got to know us beforehand, a couple of video calls and a questionnaire ensured he knew what we wanted. He also helped us plan some of the day; we were unsure when to do the confetti toss (as we couldn’t do it at our ceremony venue) and some sequencing on cake cutting, toasts etc. Also a photo real was ready the next day and all our photos available within a week! The photos we have from our special day are amazing.

Just perfection 🌟
My husband and I got married in secret, and we both decided that a professional photographer is a must so we can share what went on our special day to our family and friends afterwards. Clueless where to find photographers, I fortunately stumbled upon Gary’s website and the rest is history. We met up with him a few days before the wedding, and I guess that is his way of getting to know us better, which made us more comfortable in front of the camera on our special day. It was an amazing experience with Gary. My husband and I often dont have couple photos because we are very awkward lol, but wow Gary did wonders! We are very thankful. Thank you again Gary. We would highly recommend Gary to grace your special occasions and take wonderful, amazing photos

Absolute magic
Gary was absolutely stellar and captured all the joy of our special day. He was kind, helpful, and supportive. The photos are incredible, and they got everyone in the family crying. Everyone looked beautiful.

The perfect wedding photographer!
We found Gary from a recommendation of another photographer at Camden Town Hall’s wedding fair, and what an amazing recommendation it was!
From our very first call, Gary made us feel incredibly calm, giving us the perfect balance of being able to plan our wedding day like we wanted but also giving us golden advice from his own experiences in photographing weddings.
Gary was always available for idea calls and met us a few weeks before the wedding, spending almost 2 hours with us roaming around the Kings Cross canals where we really wanted to take photos after the wedding, making sure to plan out the photo spots to make use of time effectively on the actual day.
On the actual wedding day, Gary was so professional and INCREDIBLY kind to all our guests (we received multiple compliments to forward to Gary on the day and for weeks to come after the wedding). We’re incredibly awkward with posing and Gary lived true to the promise of taking some beautiful photographs whilst making us feel natural and comfortable. We have countless, gorgeous photographs of our guests having fun, our wedding and vows and group shots after the wedding.
Also, my dad mentioned to Gary that he’s excited to see the photos soon and be able to send them to the family and Gary took this to heart and had our photos ready for us to download and view the very next day!!
Overall, we could not have been any happier choosing Gary as our photographer and we’d recommend him to anyone and everyone in a heartbeat ❤️
