Chris Gorst-Smith Photography is a North West-based wedding and portrait photographer operating out of Lancashire, but covering Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Cumbria, West Yorkshire and the rest of the UK by arrangement.

Always there but never intrusive, Chris has a gift for blending into the nuptials, soaking in the energy and catching those genuine moments. His aim is simply to capture you in the natural moments surrounded by those who love you most.

With experience of working with couples of all ages, cultures and diversity, Chris is someone who will work with you, to deliver the results you want.

Chris Gorst-Smith Photography offers a transparent pricing system that will allow you to curate your ideal wedding package.

Chris's approach to photography is two-fold. During the day, they aim to tell your unique story through natural, documentary-style imagery. Switching to their notable fine-art aesthetic, they will take you for a private portrait session where you can cement your look in a timeless fashion.

Chris' aim at every stage is to have you feeling at ease with the camera and free to enjoy the excitement of your day.

As far ahead as you can to secure dates, but I do still have some availability for 2023

Yes, lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Cumbria. Anywhere by arrangement

What is the charge for travelling?

Up to 100 miles from BL7 in Lancashire is included. Further by negotiation - overnight stays by arrangement

What kind of technology do you use?

Digital

Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?

I've a natural, relaxed style, following the action and making sure I capture those moments that you didn't know happened is key. You should be with your guests as much as possible

What kind of equipment do you use?

2 professional Nikon camera bodies, a variety of prime and zoom lenses to cover all requirements. Tripods, speedlight etc

Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?

Yes, i use a hosted client gallery, linked to my website where you have password protected access for both proofing, and then accessing/sharing the final edited images

What's the delivery time for a photographic report?

1 month

Do you send all the photos taken?

No

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

Alone

In case of unforeseen circumstances, do you have a replacement photographer?

Yes

Do you have the rights to publish the wedding photos?

Yes

Do you charge per hour or per event?

Per event

If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

Yes

How do you charge extra time?

A full day package covers roughly 10 hours - but if things are livening up after the first dance, I'll stick around to capture the fun. If a more bespoke package is needed, that can be negotiated

What are the forms of payment?

Paypal, Stripe, Direct transfer

How do you work?

I work by understanding what my couple really wants in terms of style, content, group shots etc. The included initial consultation is key for this, either remotely if preferred, or face to face

Our wedding day.

We met up with Chris prior to our wedding day to discuss our requirements he was extremely helpful with his suggestions .On the day he was warm and friendly and put our family and friends at ease. We are very happy with the photos he provided he certainly captured the emotion of our day..Would highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing!

Chris is FANTASTIC at what he does. He took time before the big day to find out exactly what we wanted, and went above and beyond to make sure he delivered. Friendly, approachable and filled us with confidence both before and on the day, Chris was discreet and snapped away catching so many precious memories that would have otherwise been missed. Turn around time to see the final pictures was really impressive and we have had so many compliments from friends and family. We can’t thank Chris enough and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a seriously good photographer for their special day!
