Emily Harding, a.k.a. Yorkshire Violinist, is a wedding musician based in Huddersfield, in England's West Yorkshire region. This talented professional is an acoustic and electric events violinist trained in Huddersfield and The Royal Northern College of Music. She performs solo and as a member of several ensembles and orchestras (including Symphonic Ibiza), and most recently with the BBC as part of Sir Cliff Richard’s on-stage string orchestra in his 2022 Christmas Special on BBC2.

Emily Harding would be honoured to create the perfect soundtrack for any occasion surrounding your big day. She offers several packages that cater to a range of budgets and needs, including ceremony music only, drinks reception music, and coverage for the whole day. All wedding packages include:

  • All equipment required for the day
  • Initial telephone or email consultation and regular email communication until the day of the event
  • Five-piece requests are included in the wedding ceremony, whether or not they appear on the published Repertoire List:
    • Groom's choice (during the pre-ceremony guests’ welcome music)
    • Entrance / Processional
    • Signing the register (x2)
    • Exit / Recessional
  • Arrival one hour before start time to set up and soundcheck
  • Use of my own PAT-certified equipment
  • Insurance

How far in advance should I contact you?

With as much notice as possible, Emily can ensure you get the best service possible. A minimum of 2 weeks is appreciated and full balance will be required at this point

Is it possible to request something that's not in the repertoire?

Absolutely! Outside the five main ceremony songs, additional song requests (songs not on my repertoire list) are chargeable due to the extra practice time required, and obtaining materials

What's your experience?

Trained at The University of Huddersfield and the Royal Northern College of Music, Emily performs across the UK as solo violinist, in various string quartets and ensembles, including Symphonic Ibiza

Do you have your own equipment?

Yes

Do you need specific materials or conditions to offer your service?

Yes, - Adequate space to perform is required. - Connection to mains electricity a bonus, but not essential. - For outdoor events, please provide suitable cover for performer due to weather changes

Can you travel?

Yes, uK-wide excluding Northern Ireland

Is there a charge for travelling?

Yes, £0.55 per mile of the return journey. Discussion is possible where absolutely necessary

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

No

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

Alone

What is the length of time of the act?

It depends on how long your ceremony is, and whether you would also like Emily to perform for your drinks reception and wedding breakfast. Set lengths are tailored to each couple's individual schedule

How much time do you need to prepare for an act?

Two weeks is appreciated. Contact Emily anyway, even if your event is within two weeks. Full balance will be required upon booking in these circumstances

Do you do open-air acts?

Yes

Do you charge per hour or per event?

Per event

If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

Yes

How do you charge extra time?

£200 for each additional hour on top of existing booking / agreed event time. Included within this extra fee are all the features of the current booking for the additional performance time
