Congratulations on your decision to get married!

I'm Alison McIntyre and I'm a qualified Wedding Celebrant, trained and accredited by Humanists UK. I provide non-religious ceremonies that are a meaningful and joyful celebration of you and your partner's love for one another.

A Humanist wedding can be whatever you want it to be and wherever you want it to be: there are no rules! The huge difference from the alternatives is that you take centre stage.

How does it work?

We start with a "meet and greet" conversation, followed by an in-depth, but hopefully relaxed, interview where we'll delve into how you met, when you fell in love, who proposed to whom and why you are about to make deep commitments to one another. This is a big ask and I feel very privileged to share these details. It gives me the material to weave into a script, not unlike the text of a play, which includes music, readings, vows, symbolic gestures (like the exchange of rings), moves and even entrances and exits. This script will be passed back and forth between us until you are satisfied it will create the wedding that reflects you as a couple.

Ideally, we will have a rehearsal at your chosen venue before the wedding itself. Then, on the "big day", I can deliver the ceremony and you can relax and concentrate on enjoying yourselves.

Why me?

I love ceremonies; I always have. I'm intensely curious about people and what makes them tick; I'm good at listening; I'm a practised writer and I love performance (I went to drama school).

By the way, I've got your back no matter who you are or who you love! You can feel completely comfortable that I'll create the wedding that reflects you as a couple.

I will guide you and your guests through the proceedings in a cocoon of warmth and love, laughter and tears: a special day to remember for ever!
