A ceremony with freedom, but not chaos. Meaning, but not formality. Warmth, but not performance.

Hi, I’m Sharon — a Humanists UK accredited celebrant based in Alton, Hampshire.

I create personal, non-religious ceremonies for couples who want their wedding, elopement, vow renewal or commitment ceremony to feel calm, warm and completely their own.

Founding Couple Offer: I’m currently offering 50% off for two separate couples who would like a personal, non-religious ceremony written from scratch. Full details are under “Deals” on this profile.

A celebrant-led ceremony is different from a registrar ceremony. The legal part can be done separately, leaving your actual ceremony free to reflect you: your story, your people, your music, your vows, your humour, your rituals, your setting and the atmosphere you want to create.

I’m newly launched as a celebrant, but I’m not new to people. My whole career has been built around listening carefully, understanding what matters, and helping people through important moments with warmth, clarity and care.

But freedom does not mean you have to work it all out alone. I will guide you through the possibilities, help you understand what feels right, and write a ceremony that has structure, meaning and flow — without feeling formal, generic or overdone.

Your ceremony can be joyful, quiet, intimate, funny, emotional, reflective, or all of those things at once. It does not need to follow awkward traditions or sound like anyone else’s wedding. It just needs to feel honest, considered and genuinely like you.

If that sounds like the kind of ceremony you are looking for, I’d love to chat.

Open Door

I’ll be at the Alton House Hotel Wedding Fayre on Sunday 4th October 2026, and I’d love to meet couples who want their ceremony to feel like them.

Maybe you know you don’t want anything too formal, traditional or scripted — but you’re not sure yet what the alternative looks like. That’s exactly the kind of thing we can talk through.

I create personal, non-religious wedding ceremonies that are written from scratch and shaped around you: your story, your values, your people, your way of doing things.

We can chat about what a celebrant-led ceremony can include, from personal vows and readings to music, handfasting, guest involvement or something much simpler.

No pressure, no hard sell, and no need to have it all figured out.

Come and say hello — I’d love to hear what you’re planning.

Date: From 04/10/2026 to 04/10/2026 Schedule 11:00 - 15:00

Celebrant

I’m Sharon, the celebrant behind Simply Human Ceremonies.

I came to celebrancy through my own experience of humanist ceremonies. I had a humanist wedding in 2014, and later a naming ceremony for my daughter in 2019. Both stayed with me because they felt personal, meaningful and honest — not something we were fitting ourselves into, but something that genuinely reflected us.

That is what first drew me to this work.

I have always been someone who is interested in people: what matters to them, what has shaped them, and how they make sense of the important moments in their lives.

My style is calm, warm and quietly organised. I care about getting things right and helping people feel calm and looked after, especially when they are still working out what they want.

I love finding out about couples, especially the small details: the way people talk about each other, the ordinary moments that say something real, the things that might not seem important at first but often become the heart of the ceremony.

Every ceremony I create is written from scratch.

We start with a conversation, and the ceremony grows from there.
