I'm Jack, the celebrant behind Humble Handfasting, based in East London. My mother raised me on old Celtic stories — stone circles, solstice fires — but she was no flighty witch; she was a gardener who knew which herbs healed and when silence spoke loudest. That balance stuck with me.

I trained as an actor, so I know how to hold a room, read the energy, and make sure your words land exactly as they should — whether that's in front of two hundred people or seven. Now I design weddings and handfastings for couples who want depth, humour, and humanity at the heart of their day.

I love weaving ancient traditions like handfasting into modern ceremonies, but if you'd rather skip the Celtic stuff and just say "I do" by the sea with your dog as witness, we can make that completely yours too.

It starts with a relaxed chat: what matters most to you both? Your grandmother's ring? A reading from the novel you both underlined? I fold it into a fully bespoke ceremony — smooth, heartfelt, no fluff, no fuss. Think of me as the calm hand guiding whatever shape your day needs to take.
