Where, oh where, to begin.
We booked The Hogless Roast for our wedding completely blind. A small indie company with outstanding 5-star reviews, trying to change the world by providing delicious plant-based food that truly doesn't cost the earth
Well, if going in blind is anything to go by, then SOMEONE TAKE MY EYES
Just like everything at our wedding, Matt and his crew were beyond perfect. In every way.
Pulled pork burgers that were so close to meat they had my dad - and everyone else - fooled
The most incredible hash browns with a ration of fluffy inside to crispy outside that literally had me crying out for more (I tell you now, from now on, the smaller the hash brown, the better)
A blissfully fresh salad bar with the best vegan coleslaw, pickled red cabbage, and mixed leaves that you ever did see
and Mac 'n' cheese that literally blew everything else out. of. the. park. Honestly, every bite of this meal had me wishing I'd married the food instead, but this creamy richness of was literally the divine holy grail of pasta.
Followed by Hackney Gelaton vegan gelatos which if you aren't aware already, are the best vegan ice creams that exist and I which would willingly trade all my limbs for
Vegan has never tasted so good
But you can tell they're not just there to get the job done, to advertise, or to make a porky profit.
Everyone was so friendly and charming, and an absolute pleasure to talk to. Never thought I'd be bonding with owner Matt about the savagery of online hackers over a box of dirty hash browns, but there we go
If not on your wedding day, then when?
Matt also mentioned that they create almost no food waste which made me love them even more (as if that was even possible)
Guests were saying it was the best wedding food they'd ever had and that they couldn't believe it was vegan I'm not one for militant vegan propaganda but I can't say I wasn't chuffed.

The BEST decision! We had an all vegan wedding and struggled for months to find a vendor that would even respond to me. We found Hogless Roast and were invited to visit them at a local market to try their food for free before we booked. Obviously the food is insanely good so we immediately booked with them. They were super easy to book with and were on board with our weird ideas. Not to mention incredibly friendly people and I didn't have to worry about anything. Majority of our guests weren't vegan and consistently moan about vegan food but they all loved it. The best bit was they boxed up all the portions we paid for that weren't eaten at the end of service so that our guests could take it home. AMAZING! -

Ross and the hogless team were amazing from the get go. we wanted a fully vegan wedding that would impress even the pickiest of meat eaters and that's exactly what they did.
they had some leftover at the end which they boxed up for us, and it was as delicious cold as it was fresh.
everything ran so smooth during food service and we can't fault them at all!The Hogless Roast - Vegan's reply:

Everyone had the best time and couldn't stop talking about the burgers and the very very addictive hash browns. A pleasure to talk to via phone, email and in person. Also v good value for money!!The Hogless Roast - Vegan's reply:

We booked the Hogless Roast for the evening food at our wedding and it went down wonderfully! Considering the vast majority of the guests were meat eaters, we were a little worried they may not like it, but everybody was highly complimentary (with one guest actually asking them what meat he was eating as he liked it so much, having not read the sign that it was vegan!) - the staff were friendly, the booking process was easy, and the portions were great. OMG! What can I say? We booked the Hogless Roast for our festival-themed pagan-style wedding in September 2023. Some of our guests were raving before the supplier's arrived, either because they had their food before or because they had been dying to try it for a while...we also had some staunch meat-eaters who are the types not to be convinced by vegan food.
It was a resounding success, people loved it and kept telling us they have had real hog roast before that was not as tasty or enjoyable! Everyone was sold. We are so glad we booked them!
They are easy to deal with, flexible, responsive and just truly seasoned and professional. I never had to worry about them on the build-up! The guys who ran the catering on the day were lovely, friendly and totally relaxed, even though it was the hottest day of the year. Complete pros! If you want street food or an ethical hog roast, no one will be disappointed by these guys! -
