Best tailors i can trust

I went through a fair bit of weight change between buying the dress and the big day. The alteration process was so smooth, they never made me feel awkward about the changes, just adjusted things gradually over the fittings. It ended up being the perfect fit when it mattered most.

It was everything I hoped for.

The vintage wedding gown I chose had intricate beading, but years in storage had left some areas dull and patchy. Not only did they restore what was there, but they also added just the right amount of sparkle to lift the whole design. It caught the light beautifully on the day.

Best tailors ever

After ordering a couture-inspired dress online, I discovered it was three sizes too big and the hem was uneven. With only three weeks to spare, the wedding dress alterations specialists performed a complete overhaul: they took in the sides, rebalanced the skirt layers, and added a hidden bustle system that allowed me to dance freely all night.

Good always

My wedding spanned a sunny garden service and a long marquee reception. I asked for alterations that would keep me comfortable all day—so they lifted the underarms for airflow, reshaped the skirt panels for easier movement, and added a soft cotton lining. I barely noticed the gown as I ate, mingled, and danced the day away.

Be aware of fake reviews, this business is very dodgy

I regret working with this business and feel compelled to share what happened—especially after seeing similar stories among the 1-star reviews (and a Trustpilot warning about fake ones).

I attempted to cancel my order less than 24 hours after my fitting (which had felt rushed and unwelcoming). Instead of professionalism, I was met with hostility, misleading claims, and increasing demands.

Here’s what happened:

Cancellation denied despite early request
I called the next day after my fitting (they were closed the day of), but was told no cancellation was possible—even though the fitting was brief and no work could have reasonably started.
Aggressive and conflicting communication
A male staff member called and was instantly combative. He claimed work had already begun, which seemed unlikely given their closure and that my next appointment wasn’t for another 6 months. He also claimed my cancellation had led to my tailor being let go—this turned out to be false, as I later learned she was still employed.
Retaliation after my review
After I posted a review describing my experience, I was contacted on WhatsApp by the same staff member, saying they would no longer proceed with my dress. I asked for a refund, which they refused—despite it being their choice to end the service.
Escalating pressure and demands
They refused to return my fully paid-for dress unless I:
Made a direct bank transfer for cancellation fees (instead of a secure payment method),
Promised not to dispute the payment,
Deleted my review,
Signed an unexplained contract (which they later wanted someone to deliver to my home for signature).
At one point, I was told the dress was offsite and couldn’t be accessed.

It was only when I stopped responding and sought help from Citizens Advice that someone else from the business stepped in, apologised, and released the dress.

Terrible experience

I have had a similar experience to the other one star reviews here and believe the five star reviews to be fake. I was quoted 900 to take the sides in, hem up and add some cups in which I paid for upfront. After multiple appointments with different seamstresses my dress was still not completed on the agreed pick up date. After asking for my dress back so I could take it elsewhere they told me they would not give it back to me until I bank transferred the cost of the alterations to them (despite having already paid) effectively blackmailing me into paying them.

On the day, I danced under the chandeliers and truly felt like I’d stepped into the Roaring Twenties.

Dreaming of flapper-era glamour, I found my wedding dress but it lacked the authentic drop-waist cut. The alteration team restructured the bodice, moved the waistline down, and added layers of scalloped lace. On the day, I danced under the chandeliers and truly felt like I’d stepped into the Roaring Twenties.

The new fit was spot-on, and I finally felt comfortable and graceful in every photo.

The sleeves on my gown were stunning but didn’t fit right, they kept slipping and made me feel restricted. During alterations, they redesigned the sleeve heads and added light internal boning for structure. The new fit was spot-on, and I finally felt comfortable and graceful in every photo.

It completely changed the look and gave the gown the wow factor I was hoping for.

The wedding dress I bought was simple and classic, but I always felt it needed something extra. During alterations, I mentioned my thoughts, and they suggested adding a soft tulle overlay and a bit of sparkle at the waist. It completely changed the look and gave the gown the wow factor I was hoping for.

It still looked bridal and graceful without compromising on my comfort or beliefs.

As someone who prefers more coverage, I was worried my options would be limited. Thankfully, this team added custom sleeves and slightly raised the neckline of my gown with delicate lace that matched the original perfectly. It still looked bridal and graceful without compromising on my comfort or beliefs.

I got so many compliments, and no one guessed it was a budget dress to begin with.

I bought a wedding dress from a popular high shop to save money. It fit reasonably well, but looked a bit plain. With alterations, they refined the neckline, reshaped the train, and added delicate hand-beading across the waistline. I got so many compliments, and no one guessed it was a budget dress to begin with.

I felt at one with the landscape and utterly bridal.

I had planned my ceremony among the vines, and my original wedding gown was too formal for the setting. The seamstress softened the hemline, swapped the stiff petticoat for lighter tulle, and added a thin braided belt that echoed the vineyard’s earthy feel. Walking through the rows of grapes, I felt at one with the landscape and utterly bridal.

it hugged my shape beautifully without feeling tight.

The wedding dress I’d ordered a long time didn’t fit quite the same by the time the wedding came around. I was dreading the fitting, but they never made me feel uncomfortable. The gown was let out ever so subtly, with adjustments around the hips and bust, and the result was absolutely seamless, it hugged my shape beautifully without feeling tight.

Everyone commented on how perfectly it all came together.

Getting married in December meant I needed sleeves, fast. The tailor sourced matching lace, built beautiful long sleeves, and lined the bodice for warmth. It looked seamless, and I stayed cosy without compromising on style. Everyone commented on how perfectly it all came together.
