Hi, I'm Karen, the owner of Contour & Cuticles, offering professional makeup and nail services in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
I'm a VTCT-qualified makeup artist and Bio Sculpture-qualified nail technician, specialising in wedding and special occasion makeup. My aim is to ensure that brides and their wedding parties look and feel absolutely perfect, just as they envision for their special day.
My passion for makeup began with my own journey—after struggling with oily skin, I spent years perfecting my skincare and makeup routine. As a result, my kit is now tailored to suit a variety of skin types and tones.
Although I'm relatively new to the professional makeup industry, my passion and skills are unwavering. I believe that having the perfect makeup look on one of the biggest days of your life is non-negotiable.

I offer professional makeup services for the bride, bridesmaids, and any special family members who would like to feel their best on the big day.
When it comes to makeup, I'm a strong advocate for cruelty-free brands and always prioritise vegan options where possible. I use only the highest-quality products that not only align with these values but also ensure your makeup lasts throughout the day with minimal, if any, touch-ups, allowing you to fully enjoy your special day and all its moments.
I use several high-end brands, including Lisa Eldridge, Hourglass, Tarte, Tatcha, Charlotte Tilbury, VB Beauty, and Anastasia Beverly Hills.
A consultation and trial aren't compulsory but highly recommended to ensure the perfect look. I offer them from my quiet and cosy home salon in Chesterfield.

I'm more than happy to travel beyond Derbyshire, including neighbouring counties like Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, or Lincolnshire. I also offer bespoke packages tailored to the size of your bridal party and any travel requirements, ensuring everything fits your needs perfectly.

Beautiful make up
My trial with Karen was fantastic, as someone who doesn't wear makeup normally, I was very nervous about not looking like me. She put me at ease immediately, and I felt so safe in her capable hands. We tried a few looks and agreed on the best colourways.
On the day of the wedding, she came in perfect time, did mine, my four bridesmaids, my mother and even a dusting of sparkle on my 8 year old daughter. I never felt rushed, and she was friendly and chatty with us all throughout the morning. She made all of us look beautiful, and was open to any changes I wanted. At one point my eyeshadow wouldn't sit right, so she removed the whole work she had done on the eye and started again, so it was perfect, which I really appreciated.
Everyone said how beautiful we looked, and the makeup stayed on all day - even in 31c heat!!
Karen is honest and fair with her pricing and I would not hesitate to recommend her to absolutely anyone looking for that magical touch.

Exceptionally natural and down-to-earth
Her 'above and beyond' goes beyond make-up! I was having difficulty getting transport to our ceremony - I only needed a one way trip, as we hired a vintage double decker for all our guests, and wedding party, to transport us to the reception. Karen stepped up! She happily drove me to the ceremony (perfect stealth move - no one saw me coming ;)).
