A magnificent example of classic English architecture. Moor Park Mansion has in past centuries housed Archbishops, Queens and Peers of the Realm. Moor Park is settled within its 250 acres of Capability Brown landscape and is decorated and maintained to the highest standards. The Mansion plays host to many original works of art dating back to 1680. Today it provides the perfect setting to hold your Wedding Ceremony, reception and dance celebrations. We pride ourselves on the level of expertise that we supply. Once booked, one of our Wedding Managers will be allocated to your event and will work through all detail with you. You will receive their personal attention with completing a full step by step confirmation and estimate of account to menu selection and food tasting. Your Wedding Manager will normally be running your event on the day. Strictly speaking there are no set packages as there can be only one winner in this situation. We will advise you and then set agreed limits for wines and bar accounts so that you keep full control of your event and have therefore no unexpected surprises. Moor Park is situated in Hertfordshire close to the boarders of both Middlesex and Buckinghamshire.
The Mansion
Moor Park Mansion is a Grade I listed Palladian mansion set within over 300 hundred acres in Hertfordshire. The name Moor Park originates from the old park of the Manor of More, which is where the mansion and golf courses now sit. The original house was built in 1678 for James, Duke of Monmouth. In 1732, Benjamin Hoskins Styles, who had made a fortune in The South Sea Company, purchased it and the current appearance of the mansion, including the magnificent paintings within the Main Hall, Thornhill Room and Grand Staircase can be traced to his time at the mansion.
Wedding Dreams Become Reality At Moor Park
The beauty of Moor Park extends to the outside too, with impressive gardens that make a picture-postcard backdrop for your wedding album as well as the ideal place to serve the welcome drinks to your guests on a balmy summer's day.
Romantic candlelit receptions can be catered for in the intimate setting of the Thornhill Room, a drinks reception served amidst the Italian murals of the Main Hall, whilst those wanting an exclusive area can use the Orangery Suite. Each room of the Mansion offers a distinct character and with eight to choose from, you are sure to feel like the Lord and Lady of the Manor in whichever rooms you choose.
