Our wedding at The Village Hotel was absolutely perfect from start to finish! The venue itself is beautiful, modern, and incredibly well-kept, creating the ideal backdrop for our special day. From the moment we booked, we felt completely supported and reassured.
A huge thank you to Kieran and Sue, who went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. Kieran’s professionalism, attention to detail, and calm approach kept us feeling relaxed throughout, while Sue’s warmth, friendliness, and endless patience made the planning process a joy. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them, and they truly made us feel like our day mattered just as much to them as it did to us.
The food was fantastic, the staff were attentive and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere was perfect from beginning to end. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Five-Star Wedding Experience – Outstanding Care, Organisation & Love

I just have to say, if you are looking for a wedding venue — day, night, or both — and are feeling worried or anxious (as most brides are), please trust me when I say that from the moment we decided to book our wedding at the Village Hotel Cardiff, the love and care we received was second to none.

The communication between the coordinator and ourselves was so on point. Every conversation was written down in detail and emailed back to me for checking. A few weeks after booking, we changed our minds from having a full wedding to just a party. My dream had always been Gretna, for the romance and historic tales, and once my partner said, “Well why aren’t we doing that?”, it suddenly made sense. We realised we could still have our evening do at the Village.

All of our requests were accommodated — the wedding coordinator, Sue, didn’t miss a thing. We were going to Gretna Green for our ceremony alone and decided we still wanted our party here, but we didn’t just want it to be a party. We wanted our guests to feel like they were part of our wedding — like a reception three weeks later.

We still wanted our first dance, speeches, and I still wanted my dad to walk me in and give me away to my husband John, even though we had already married privately with two witnesses in Scotland three weeks before. We wondered with anticipation: could the hotel set the scene, pull off the emotional atmosphere, and give our guests the feeling that they were attending our actual wedding day — minus the vows?

On the day itself, from the moment we arrived, Sue was by both my side and John’s side. How is that possible? That woman is a superhero in a suit. John and I still stayed separate (even though he had already seen my dress), and somehow Sue made it all work. She was right there whenever I needed her.

I spent the afternoon with my three daughters in a room where we could relax, have a drink, chat, and take our time getting ready. Sue had communicated so clearly with both of us that we always knew what the next step was. Just knowing she was nearby brought so much comfort and reassurance.

We also met Kieron, Sue’s assistant, on our wedding day — and he was phenomenal. He got straight into it, made a few suggestions that I could instantly see would work better due to small changes I’d wanted to make on the day, and then carried out his duties with such calmness and excitement. This guy absolutely loves his job. Everything was overseen and approved by Sue — the calmest yet most organised person I know. I was truly in the safest hands. These two together were dynamite.

The confidence they both oozed reassured me that everything was going to plan, smoothly and perfectly, and allowed me to fully enjoy my personal time with my grown-up daughters, making memories in the moment.

While waiting for the doors to open, my entrance song to start, and my dad to stand by my side, Sue said, “I’ve got you some tissues.” I replied, “It’s fine, Sue — thanks to you and Kieron I’m actually surprisingly relaxed and not feeling emotional.” John had also text me to say he was doing great and couldn’t wait to see me and get dancing.

Sue and Kieron gathered everyone and kindly seated our guests. Then my music started. I looked at Sue and said, “I think I’m going to need that tissue.” She was right there by my side, ready ❤️

As I walked in and saw our families, all those beautiful, emotional, nervous feelings I’d had at our actual wedding three weeks earlier came flooding back tenfold. I looked at all the happy, smiling, crying faces and then found John’s — and I was a mess. My dad walked me to him along a red carpet, proud and tall. I felt like a princess all over again.

Wow. That moment — and every moment after — was epic. We embraced, full of tears, kissed, and looked around the room as our families and friends cheered and clapped. We moved straight onto the dance floor for our first dance to “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole. The DJ then encouraged everyone to join us. We hugged, danced, and celebrated with our loved ones — it was incredible and far more emotional than I ever expected.

Sue then handed the reins over to Kieron to see us through the evening. He did quick checks to ensure guests were seated correctly, especially those with dietary requirements. He made sure they were served first at the buffet, just as I had requested — and everything was perfectly in place.

The buffet was incredible — we didn’t even notice it had come into the room. The presentation was beautiful, and everything that was meant to be hot was hot. Guests commented on how delicious the food was and how well it catered for everyone, especially those with dietary requirements. It was exactly what we had hoped for and more.

We danced our feet off, and let me tell you — that sparkle dance floor certainly helped. Book it! The DJ took requests from everyone and very quickly sussed out our music taste. He read the room perfectly. Whenever we needed a breather, he’d smash out another hit that pulled us right back onto the dance floor. It was never empty. He was absolutely brilliant — smiling, laughing, and clearly loving every second.

The coordinators also allowed me to set up my own activities table for the children. They had an amazing time gluing, glittering, sticking, cutting, crafting pictures, eating sweets, and making happy messes — while the parents relaxed. They also loved the sparkle dance floor!

Every moment was timed perfectly: the short speeches, first dance, mother-and-son dance, flowers for the grandparents, and a poem my mum wrote which a friend read aloud about John and me. It was emotional, fun, and unforgettable.

We danced, ate, laughed, and celebrated all night. Eventually, Kieron hugged us goodbye and left. I felt so proud of the work Sue and Kieron had done. Their communication, organisation, and attention to detail were flawless — not a single hiccup.

The DJ was still smiling, playing our favourite songs, and the atmosphere was electric. It truly felt like we had married in Gretna and flown straight here for our reception — with everyone included.

I also want to thank the hotel reception staff, who were so welcoming as our guests arrived and checked in. They were friendly, chatty, and smiling — and it made such a difference. The kitchen staff prepared a beautiful buffet, and everything that was meant to be hot was hot. The presentation was perfect.

We left the reception room while guests were still dancing and the DJ was still smiling, and headed to our room completely overwhelmed with happiness. The next morning, all our belongings had been neatly placed in the room we’d used to get ready. I hadn’t even realised I’d left my shoes behind — everything was safe and cared for while we slept. Knowing the team were still working through the night to look after us honestly melts my heart.

To the Village Hotel manager: you truly have qthe dream team. Every single member of staff went above and beyond — reception, coordinators, bar staff, kitchen staff, cleaners, security, and DJ. They never stopped smiling. I hope you are incredibly proud of each and every one of them, and that you appreciate them as much as John and I do.

Heaven truly sent us the dream team — so please don’t change a thing.

We recently had our wedding at the Village hotel Cardiff, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. From start to finish, the entire day ran so smoothly — it truly felt effortless, and that’s all thanks to the incredible team behind the scenes.

The coordinators Sue and Kieran were absolute stars — professional, organized, and so attentive. They made sure every little detail was taken care of and kept everything running on time without us ever feeling rushed. Their calm presence and clear communication made the whole planning process (and the big day itself!) a breeze.

The food was absolutely lovely — beautifully presented, full of flavor, and enjoyed by every single one of our guests.

We recently had our wedding reception at Village Hotel Cardiff, and we honestly couldn’t have wished for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, every single member of staff went above and beyond to make us feel supported, cared for, and truly special.

Although there was a small hiccup with our connecting rooms at the start, it was resolved quickly and efficiently—and from that point on, everything ran seamlessly. The professionalism, kindness, and dedication shown by the team were outstanding.

There were so many people who made our day unforgettable. Christian from the restaurant showed incredible kindness when our son became overwhelmed—he instantly brought him some chips without hesitation, which allowed us to relax and enjoy the moment. The Assistant Restaurant Manager was equally fantastic, calm, and attentive during our family meal. Laura from housekeeping and her colleagues were so approachable and genuinely friendly, which really added to the warm atmosphere of our stay.

Sue and her events team deserve the biggest thank you. They worked tirelessly to keep the day running smoothly and made it all look effortless. The little touches Sue added to support our autistic son William were above and beyond—something we will never forget. She truly is an asset to the hotel.

The bar staff were brilliant too—friendly, efficient, and full of energy, they helped create a lively, fun atmosphere that so many of our guests commented on afterwards.

Looking back, what made our day so special wasn’t just the venue, but the people. The team at Village Hotel Cardiff managed to combine professionalism with genuine warmth, and it made all the difference. We will always remember our wedding reception with immense joy, thanks in no small part to this amazing team.

The team at the Village were absolutely amazing! Sue kept us informed throughout the whole process from booking to the day and nothing was too much trouble making the actual day perfect. The venue is so perfect, everything you need in one place which is what we wanted for our special day. It was within our budget and great value for what we received which was way more than expected! We had so many complements on the food too which was a hog roast buffet! All the guests came to congratulate us on an excellent venue choice. Everyone who work at the village, the receptionists the restaurant staff, Starbucks staff, the cleaning staff and especially the wedding coordinator team were just brilliant and cannot fault the professionalism on the day and leading up to it! We had our wedding here Saturday 26th July 2025 we were so pleased with how smoothly it all went and how organised sue and Kieran was with helping us always communicating with us through our making sure we were ok and if we had any requests for them to do etc it was amazing and to have it all done in under one roof was the best thank you both so much I highly recommend this venue for ur wedding or any sort of function to be honest the food is amazing and there was plenty for everyone the dj was great too just a great over all experience so thank you to all the village hotel staff and management for such a great wedding and birthday celebrations

What a fantastic day we had, from the very beginning of booking with the village hotel the communication was spot on. No question was too silly to ask and I felt that my wishes were being listened to wholeheartedly. Sue and Kieran were fabulous and genuinely cared about making sure we were happy throughout the day engaging with our guests not just ourselves. The food was to die for and pipping hot, great portions and food service went without a hitch!

The evening turn around was seamless also and the room looked fantastic again!

We've had so many positive comments of our day with not one fault being found, people will remember our wedding with fond memories and the village hotel played a big part in that!

Got married here on the 5/4/25 and all I can say is wow.

Sue and Leighton the co ordinators were very attentive of what I wanted and guided me through the whole process relieving all pressure off myself.

On the day of the wedding they set up everything in the way requested and better than imagined. They made it my fairytale I dreamed off.

They really looked after us and made everything so seamless. Everything went without a hitch. There was nothing too much to ask. Even my external vendors commented how amazing they were.

Keiron was amazing on the day. Liaising with me through out and the food was beautiful and plentiful.

Bruce the DJ was incredible too. Cannot thank everyone enough for the seamless effort they put in and would recommend to anyone.

We had an absolutely amazing wedding at the Village Hotel in Cardiff on 01.08.24.
We can’t thank the staff enough, they really looked after us and our guests. The wedding coordinator Victoria was amazing and really made sure that everything ran smoothly. We really appreciate the time and effort Victoria put into making sure our day was so great. So many of our guests commented that it was one of the best weddings they’d ever been to. The operations staff were excellent too, they really went over and above to look after us. There was a last minute issue with the original but staff quickly organised another and we weren’t even aware until afterwards. The wedding breakfast was of very high quality too. I would definitely recommend this venue to others.

We got married at the Village hotel Cardiff on 1st May 2011. From the moment we booked this venue, the service was excellent thanks to the wedding co-ordinater Sarah. She was always helpful with advice and any questions I had (no matter how silly!) and our wedding day went very smoothly and we have absolutely no doubt that we chose the right venue for our wedding. The food was lovely which everyone commented on and the staff present on the day went out of their way to make sure the day went how we wanted.

I cant express how pleased we were with our wedding here last Saturday. Martin Eagle was faultless a credit to the hotel! The day went perfectly from start to finish, the staff were fantastic and made us feel so special.As for Ian the DJ if you get a chance book him, he was great and fantastic especially with the children The only problem is its over, I want to do it all again!!

We got married 24th April 2010. From the moment we viewed the Village Hotel Martin Eagle and the staff were very polite and extremely helpful. We booked straight away and any questions we had or if we wanted to add or change certain things it was never a problem. The day itself was absolutely fantastic, the service provided by all the staff was excellent. We were very pleased with the way the inspiration suite looked for the ceremony it was beautiful and the reception looked stunning. The food was lovely, everone was impressed! The day went without a hitch and the staff at the Village had a lot to do with that. We couldnt have asked for it to go better. We would definately reccommend the Village Hotel to others for special events, especially a wedding. We loved it so huge thanks to everyone at the Village!!

We had our wedding breakfast and reception at The Village on Fri 24th July 09 and it really was the best day of our lives and we couldn''t have done it without the Village, in particular Martin Eagle. Nothing we asked for was too much, every aspect of the day was taken care of and we wouldn''t change it for the world. If we could do it all over again then we would still use the Village! We would deinately recommend using the Village for any celebration, most importantly Weddings!!
