Unique and Unusual Wedding Venues in Gwynedd

I fell in love with Ty Afon the first time I saw it. Not only is the venue itself stunning on a regular day and very much worth a stay at any time of year, it is surrounded by absolutely magical views in one of the most beautiful parts of Snowdonia. All of our wedding guests were absolutely blown away despite it being a bit of a drive for a few of them. It was definitely worth the journey - plus there is plenty of accommodation in the wonderful nearby village Beddgelert so many guests can stay within a 10 minute walk to the venue. The owners of Ty Afon, Emma and Regan, take genuine pride in what they do and they have managed to create a wonderful wedding venue that any couple would be lucky to get married at. We had 40ish guests and it was the perfect size for a small-medium wedding like ours, (and I’m sure a larger wedding would work amazingly well too) and you can tailor it to some extent to really bring out your personality on your wedding day. We had a very specific vision for our wedding and Emma and Regan, and all the staff at Ty Afon, went above and beyond to help us make it a reality - they were so helpful and understanding throughout the whole process, even finding ways to reduce costs for us wherever they could. They were also helped out by an incredible wedding planner, Helen, who often works with the venue. We felt very safe in her capable hands and very much knew that she wouldn't let anything go wrong with our wedding on her watch. Diolch to all of you for helping us have the most perfect day!

We held our wedding down in the slate cavern, 18 months ago. It was a fantastic day. Truly unique and totally awesome. The staff at Llechwedd couldn't have been more helpful. The setting was cold (so tell everyone to wrap up warm), it was romantic and the lighting, the candles everything just added to a great day. We weren't expecting much for the buffet, but the staff out-did themselves. The food was better than any wedding buffet that I've ever had. No soggy butties, all freshly made, including a whole salmon - which was unexpected. And the Prosecco choice we were given was absolutely excellent. Can't praise Llechwedd enough.
