Me and my husband got engaged in 2024 and wanted to get married in a country manor which was local to the majority of our friends and family. From the moment we visited Shuttleworth House, we knew there and then it was the perfect place for us to get married.

The house is absolutely beautiful with so much charm and history. As well as the house, we loved exploring the grounds, and were able to make the most of the outdoors with the weather with guests playing the outdoor games Shuttleworth provided.

We have nothing but good things to say about the Shuttleworth Team which helped to plan our day. Georgia in particular was excellent, she was able to answer all of our questions and did the absolute most to make sure that the day ran seamlessly.

A stand out factor for this venue is that suppliers get access from 8am and we were able to drop some of the decor bits off earlier in the week. This ensured that we had the most relaxed wedding morning possible and didn’t have to rush around last minute. Chloe from Shuttleworth was also incredibly helpful in supporting us in the set up of the decor. The day after the wedding, by the time we woke up and went downstairs, Shuttleworth had already packed up any decor that belonged to us in reception which again made it so much easier to pack everything up when we went home.

We had our wedding day at Shuttleworth House on 30th July 2026, and it was honestly the most amazing day. We fell in love with Shuttleworth the moment we walked around it. We live very locally and have been to Shuttleworth several times for the air shows, but had never been inside the house. The historical features and beautiful décor made the whole place feel so grand and special. We also loved having access to the entire house for our wedding, which is one of the things that makes the venue so versatile. You can use different rooms for different parts of the day, allowing everything to flow naturally from a beautiful and intimate ceremony, to a lovely dinner and then into an evening party atmosphere. We particularly loved having separate rooms for the bridal party and groom's party to get ready in, giving us both our own space to enjoy getting ready with our friends and family. The beautiful setting and grounds also made our wedding photographs so pretty, with so many gorgeous places to capture special moments throughout the day.

We planned our wedding in just six months, so having such an experienced and supportive coordinator was incredibly important to us. Georgia, the wedding coordinator and events planner at Shuttleworth, was incredible. She is so knowledgeable and made what could have been a very stressful six-month planning process feel easy and enjoyable. She has such a calm persona, and nothing is ever too much trouble for her. She was always happy for us to come back several times to look around or measure up, and she was so quick to respond to any questions, no matter how small. The lead-up to the wedding and the wedding day itself ran so seamlessly. Georgia was always on hand, directing suppliers and helping with anything we needed. All of the behind-the-scenes work she does really makes a difference and means you can simply enjoy the build-up and, most importantly, your wedding day.

It was also lovely to be able to bring in our own choice of suppliers for the catering, music, flowers etc. We chose local suppliers, which made the whole day feel even more personal and special. Having that flexibility meant we could create a wedding that felt completely like us, while still having the incredible Shuttleworth House setting as the backdrop.

We had a smaller wedding with 30 guests, and despite the size of the venue, Shuttleworth was set up beautifully to suit our numbers. At the same time, we could easily see how the venue would work equally well for weddings on a much larger scale. The flexibility of the different rooms means the space can really be tailored to the size and style of your wedding.

If you’re looking for a stunning and unique wedding venue, with beautiful grounds, incredible historical features and wonderful photography opportunities, we couldn’t recommend Shuttleworth House highly enough. Georgia and the team there are brilliant and everything felt so well organised. It was the perfect place for our wedding, and we feel so lucky to have celebrated such a special day there.

We had our wedding at Shuttleworth house on 6th June and it was the best day of our lives. Georgia the events coordinator is the most amazing member of the team - she was brilliant from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. She made sure our day went without a hitch and I would 100% recommend this venue for anybody looking to hold a wedding in South Beds.

Shuttleworth is multiple venues in one. There is the grand country house, with multiple rooms - ideal if you are having a lengthy celebration with intimate wedding breakfast, larger evening meal and late night disco, which can all be segregated. But there are also the 100s of acres of rolling grounds, lakes and ponds for more bucolic surroundings (and insulating the house from any intrusion by the real world). For still more beautiful scenery there is the Swiss Garden, a Royal Horticultural society garden complete with Peacocks, ornamental bridges, listed buildings and the all-important steps for that photo with the dress' train laid out.

Those wanting a Church Wedding are well served by St Leonards, a 1000 year old church with stunning stained glass windows, various heraldic shields and nearby paddocks for any horse lovers. The Church sits nearly inside the grounds of the house, just past the cricket pitch and thatched cottage, for the quintenssial English village scene.

There is also of course the Shuttleworth collection itself, a range of vintage aircraft (including Spitfires and Hurricanes of course) and vehicles, which are still taken out and operated. Adding an extra dimension to any celebration - we took one of the Vintage cars back from the Church, and had a vintage bus ride for all the guests to and from the museum. Combined with garden games at the back of the house, there really was something for everyone.

Shuttleworth provides a Wedding Planner which assists with organising the events, however, with so many options (you hire the entire house so need to pick where things happen, and between the House and the Caterers you need to choose dry hire, wet hire, who does what etc.) it is essential to plan ahead. Not least to ensure you don't accidentally book the day before an airshow or other event (unless you want to make that part of the celebrations!) It might even be better to consider two days in order to fit everything in and have an easier time packing up with an unhurried departure. Which is possible thanks to onsite accomodation, including a lovely self-contained flat inside the main house which makes for a great way to start to married life.

From the moment we walked into Shuttleworth House we knew we had found our venue, and it was the first, and only venue we looked at.
The house is simply stunning, both inside and out. Georgia and the team were so helpful from the beginning of the planning process to the day itself, our day went without a hitch, apart from us getting Hitched!
All our guests remarked on the beauty of the venue and there are so many places to take photographs if the weather is not what you wanted for your day.
We also really liked the fact that all profits made on all the events at Shuttleworth go back into maintaining the property and the Collection rather than it just being a standard profit lead wedding venue.
Having the White Rose Bus (other vehicles are available!) outside was an added bonus, it wasn’t just a beautiful stationary photo backdrop, it also took guests on a tour of the estate, I’ve never seen so many adults want to go on a bus ride. The driver and conductor clearly enjoyed telling the passengers about the history of the bus and about the estate.
Cost, seriously we were blown away by how affordable the venue was (when compared to others in the area,) and there were no silly add-ons that other venues charge for!
We really can’t recommend Shuttleworth house enough, go and view it!

I honestly don't know where to start with this review because everything about Shuttleworth House was incredible! It was my dream wedding venue and Georgia- and the rest of her team were superb! Not only is it a beautiful building but they work very hard to ensure that the history of Shuttleworth is preserved and to conserve the building and furnishings. Therefore the House is really well-maintained and not tired like some other wedding venues we looked at. It also feels as though it's your home-away-from-home for the day- if you hire the entire House- because you're free to choose how to use the rooms and have full access, which was perfect for having quiet zones etc. or places for children to play. This also means you have lots of freedom to choose your decor and have ownership over various aspects of the day. Finally, in the lead up to the big day, Georgia and her team were always incredibly responsive to any questions we had, no matter how small. It was so reassuring to have her there and to know that we were in safe hands. I genuinely wish I could get married at Shuttleworth all over again!

Shuttleworth House, or more specifically the Swiss Cottage in the gardens provided us with a delightful intimate wedding venue. Georgia as our wedding planner was very professional and quick to respond to our emails along the way. On the day everything went smoothly and all staff involved were fantastic. Thank you.

Our wedding was in the Swiss cottage in the Swiss Gardens. Our wedding day was perfect! From arrival to the ceremony to the drinks on the lawn. We couldn't fault a single part of our day.

Shuttleworth is an amazing wedding venue - it is great to have it all to yourselves, the different rooms can accommodate different parts of the day really well, Georgia and the team were brilliant at helping us to arrange everything, and the day itself went perfectly.

Cannot recommend Shuttleworth enough. Georgia is such a joy to work with, she really put me at ease for our wedding planning, she is very attentive and remembered all the little details that were important to us l. We also were fortunate to work with Steph who I met when we first looked round Shuttleworth. Steph is so lovely and was great at showing us on the day the best places for photographs. We were so fortunate to get beautiful weather on the day. The Swiss gardens were we had our ceremony is truly such a beautiful venue. I really did feel like I was in a fairytale.

We visited the Swiss gardens in spring and knew if it looked magical in the rain then it would be amazing in Autumn. We could tell Georgia was very experienced, she explained all the options clearly and kept in touch with us throughout the process. They had recently applied for an extended license for the grotto and Georgia kept in touch and confirmed that we could invite a few more guests. On the day of our wedding in early October, everything went smoothly. Georgia and her team ensured everyone was where they were meant to be. Would definitely recommend visiting this beautiful venue!

Beautiful venue, you need to see to believe. From beginning to end the venue was easy to work with, Georgia was amazing. They have a good list of wedding catering and musicians that know and work with the venue well and Shuttleworth was a favourite everyone we spoke to. All our guests loved it and said how lovely it was. I feel very lucky to have had our special day here.

I cannot recommend Shuttleworth enough as a wedding venue, everything from the staff, to the rooms and the location. It was absolutely fantastic and made the wedding magical. Georgia (the wedding/venue manager) is on top of everything and will help you think of things you may have missed! Katie (who was in charge in the evening) was so kind and helpful when we forgot to cut the cake! Overall an absolutely incredible experience. Our guests didn't want to leave!
