100 days before our planned wedding- we got the devastating news that our venue was to be shut with immediate effect. We hadn’t originally looked at The Petwood- but we are so glad that we contacted the Events team at the Petwood whilst in our moment of need!
We were instantly impressed with the venue itself, grounds, welcoming staff and beautiful guest rooms. Jackie and her team truly listened to what we wanted and made our vision come to life with only 100 ish days to go. My mind was put to ease and I instantly felt stress free. Communication was amazing- Jackie is very responsive and answered any questions and queries very quickly. I cannot thank the Team at the Petwood enough, with their help- my wedding was the most magical day and I couldn’t have wished for anymore.
A big shout out to Richard who coordinated the day with the upmost professionalism and helped so much with making sure every detail was addressed for the day itself.
Second shout out to the in-house DJ provided by the Petwood who made not only our first dance so special by mixing it up a little but listened to our love of the 90s and even now 3 weeks later- guests are still saying they have never danced so much!!! You really did get the party started!!!
I’ll be forever grateful. We plan to return each December to celebrate our anniversary!

While the initial investment may appear substantial, the comprehensive organizational services provided significantly mitigate potential challenges, thereby offering exceptional value. These services encompass all aspects, from catering and table arrangements to ceremony room configuration, allowing you to focus on customizing intricate details to craft a truly unique experience.
The culinary offerings were exceptional, exceeding expectations in terms of quality, presentation, and flavor.
The staff demonstrated exemplary professionalism, reflecting positively on Petwood. This includes the events team, who expertly managed the day and collaborated in the planning process with my wife and me, as well as the front desk personnel, who consistently exhibited helpfulness, politeness, and professionalism with a positive demeanor. Furthermore, the bar staff were outstanding, engaging, and consistently displayed a cheerful disposition.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all staff for contributing to such an amazing day. For anyone considering booking a wedding, we highly recommend placing them at the top of your list. From start to finish. The team at the Petwood were amazing, Jackie was a main point of contact throughout the whole process. Thr day before the big day, we met with Richard from the Petwood, who would be our Master of Ceremony and wedding Manager for the following day.
Richard was absolutely incredible, not once was he stood still and was constantly making sure we had everything we needed all day.
Luckily the weather held out for the day and we managed to get some beautiful pictures kn the grounds too.
We'll hopefully be back every year for an anniversary meal and a nights stay back in the Maple suite.

When I say our day was perfect, I mean more than just our wedding day.
From start to finish, the team at The Petwood were nothing short of amazing. Our entire correspondence and meetings with Jackie, our event organiser, made us feel like we were the only couple to ever get married there, nothing was too much trouble! Our master of service, Richard was incredible and made sure, with the help of the entire team, that we had everything taken care of-giving us the most perfect, hassle free day.
The Hotel itself is phenomenal, the grounds are beautiful and it had significant meaning to us (WWII History enthusiasts) with its historical links to the Dambusters.

All I can say is wow. What a day we had. Everything was fabulous. From first viewing the venue and seeing the stunning grounds we knew we wanted to be married in the beautiful temple gardens. The backdrop is simply perfect. With the mixture of impeccably kept grounds with the stone/marble temple, statues and fountain it felt instantly right. We were very lucky that the weather held out for us in September to allow us to do it. In fact it felt like the last day of summer it was magical.
Jackie was our main point of contact and the second reason we booked with the Petwood. Nothing was too much trouble. She helped me quickly with any questions I had. Made suggestions on how best to run the day. She even helped to arrange childcare for a visiting relative so that they too could enjoy the proceedings. She went above and beyond to help and made the whole process enjoyable. I looked forward to our meetings prior to go over details and might nip back for a coffee anyway now that it is over.
The majority of the wedding party and guests stayed the night previous to the wedding. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant and all of the staff accommodated us and look after us all very well.
I was given the Maple room. A very large, spacious beautiful room with a 4 poster bed that over looked the grounds. Not only elegant but plenty of room for myself and the bridesmaids to get ready.
Having made the majority of my own decorations Richard and the team did a great job of setting the wedding breakfast room to how we wished it to be styled. Also making sure that the day ran seamlessly. Everything ran exactly as we wished it too. All of the food was plentiful and delicious. From the canapés, afternoon tea and hog roast. We would not have changed a thing. The staff were fast and efficient. One lovely lady member of staff even offered to nip home to help with something that had gone missing. Luckily it was found anyway but I found this gesture exceeded any expectations.
Then the disco, Ande just made the evening! He played exactly what we wanted and the dance floor was occupied the whole evening from the first song. He read the room perfectly and all the guests have mentioned how good the music was. Everyone throughly enjoyed it, especially us.
We were truly looked after at the Petwood and our day was perfect.

The Petwood Events Team were excellent and had no problems when we asked for menu changes etc. The Wedding Day went without a hitch and the Hotel did everything to make it a special day for us. The Hotel and grounds looked wonderful and our Wedding Photographs were truly excellent. We highly recommend this venue and Jackie and her Events Team.The Petwood Hotel's reply:

My husband and I got married here in June 2025. There is so much I could say but I will try and narrow it down to a half decent size review!!
We booked the Petwood in 2023, over two years before our date. I have always loved the Petwood and dreamed of getting married there since I was a little girl. From the very beginning we had a fantastic experience with everyone. Jackie and Aimee helped plan our day and did it perfectly. Even from two years out they were thinking of ideas for us and giving us plenty of options!
As it got closer to the day, they both were so meticulous in their planning and communication with us. We are so impressed with them and the quality of the service they provided.
On the day itself, it could not have ran any smoother and that is completely down to the staff at the Petwood, including Richard who was our master of ceremonies. He was running round all day on the heat making sure everything was going to plan and he did an amazing job.
It really was our perfect day, and that is credit to everyone at the Petwood. They did a great job in turning the rooms around for the breakfast and evening reception, it was just so smooth we barely noticed! We could not be more happy or grateful to everyone who played a part in our day and making it so special. Thank you to everyone at the Petwood and especially Jackie, Aimee and Richard.
