I cannot say enough good things about this venue and the team at Inchyra. They looked after us so well from the first day we enquired about a viewing, to the day after our wedding when we said goodbye. Our wedding day was everything we hoped for and more - the venue looked incredible, we had so many compliments from guests, and the day ran seamlessly. Wish we could go back and do it all again! I can’t recommend this venue enough. It is excellent!! -

Wedding at the Byre March 2025
We got married here March 2025 and although the day was everything we wanted, we did have a few hiccups on the lead up and on the day itself!
During the planning stage we were dealing with Tim and it was majority my husband who was planning the wedding so most communication was through him. However whenever I had a question, I would send an email from my own email address and Tim would send the reply to my husband (not including me). I even sent a enquiry through the website with the question and again the reply would go to my husband.
We had a lot of questions due to the fact everything is done yourself and we have obviously never planned a wedding before, a lot of the answers we got were basically like “it will get done somehow” which isn’t really handy when planning a wedding as we need someone to actually do it! We also were told to come for a walkthrough and a mock table plan would be set out for us as we had an idea set out that wasn’t one of the suggested one, when we came to the venue nothing was set out and Tim just said it will work.
On the day, me and the bridal party were getting ready at the cottage across the road (6 people) and the shower was basically hanging off the wall which made for a very awkward morning shower and the toilet flush also stopped working in both toilets! There was also a lot of dust around the cottage but I assume this is because of the older style, the carpets are almost a rope carpet so can be quite sore in feet, definitely recommend wearing slippers!
We were told we would get access to the building from 8:30am and Tim would meet us there, just before my husband got a text with a code and to basically let himself into the building via the storage room and was told where the lights were. Thankfully our caterer was already in the building otherwise it would have felt like we were breaking in!
During setting up the venue in the morning of the venue there was also another couple being shown around which we didn’t think would happen since we were told it was exclusive access.
Also when I went to have a check of the venue after set up was completed, Tim still didn’t talk to me but I found out he was talking to my husband just before, the only time he talked to me was when I asked if the seating plan was okay were it was.
There was also an issue with a staff member shouting at some of the kids at the wedding for touching the stones outside, I completely understand that the kids shouldn’t be doing this but this could have been brought up to an adult at the wedding and not at the kids!
One of our suppliers told us of some bother they were also having with a staff member while setting up due to their van being at the side of the building next to the access door, the supplier said they have had bother from the person in the past.
As we were only a one day hire which was still over £3000 for only the venue, we were told the venue had to be completely cleared by the end of the night which me, my husband and the bridal party did by moving everything to the cars outside before the end, it would have been nice to even offer a 30 minute slot for the day after while the cleaners were in to stop this stress during the wedding.
Overall our wedding itself was perfect for us and the venue itself is incredible, I just feel it could have been slightly better ran/communication could have been better! It almost felt like we were looked down on because we were young and only the one day hire instead of the 3 day hire that they now only offer however our wedding still cost us around £27,000 so definitely wasn’t cheap. The three day hire was just too expensive for us for the shell of a venue and nothing else! -
