Sopwell House was a wonderful setting for our wedding in April 2025. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly, welcoming and supportive throughout our time at the venue.
Special thanks to our Wedding Co-ordinator Chloe for her dedication and support throughout our wedding journey from preparations through to the wedding day itself. For her prompt responses to any questions that we had, her professionalism, patience, proactiveness with accommodating various amendments prior to and on the wedding day itself with a good example being arranging brunch for the Make Up Artists at the last minute on the wedding day itself.
Chloe answered all of our questions and gave us the reassurance ahead of our big day. Thank you for liaising with our selected suppliers where required to ensure all parties were aligned for specific segments during the wedding day.
A big thank you also to Alina and the ops team including Chefs, Waiters and Bar staff for their contributions during the wedding day.
For any couples interested in incorporating a fireworks display on their special day, Sopwell House are happy to accommodate this!
We are glad that the weather on the day was perfect for an outdoor wedding to show off an amazing venue in all its glory.

The Sopwell House team were incredible at accommodating all of our requests and calming our nerves during the wedding planning. Massive shout to Chloe, Joanna and the rest of the Sopwell House team for ensuring everything was going as planned before the festivities and during as well. We had the best day of our lives whilst celebrating our wedding and we would highly recommend Sopwell for anyone's special day! -

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue to celebrate our wedding. The grounds are stunning, the spa is incredible, and Sopwell House will always hold such a special place in our hearts. We already can’t wait to return soon and honestly could not fault it at all. Although we dry hired the venue and organised the majority of the wedding through our own external suppliers, your support throughout the process really meant so much to us. From the very first time we met you during our showaround when choosing our venue, you were so warm, helpful and reassuring. You truly went above and beyond throughout the entire process, helping bring everything together and liaising with our suppliers, which made everything feel so much smoother and calmer for us. You were always so patient, kind and lovely to work with, and we really appreciated all of your support and guidance along the way.
We also wanted to mention Emilia, who was absolutely fantastic throughout the hotel room booking process. She was incredibly patient, calm and helpful with both us and our guests, especially when dealing with various challenges and requests along the way. She also went above and beyond for us and our guests, and was always so lovely to work with. We’re so grateful for all of her help and support.
We hope to return for our one year anniversary and are sure we will see you before that as we have an afternoon tea voucher to use that expires that the end of the year!

We had our spring wedding at Sopwell House and couldn’t have asked for a better venue. The St Albans Suite and gardens are beautiful and elegant, but what really made the difference was the amazing team behind it.
Our coordinator Chloe was exceptional throughout — calm, professional, responsive and genuinely caring. On the day itself, everything ran seamlessly, the suite looked stunning, and the food and atmosphere were wonderful. Our suppliers also remarked on how accessible and organised the team was, and the set-up was exactly as we’d hoped.
We had brief showers during the reception, but the foyer provided the perfect back-up space. Having accommodation on site for guests was also hugely appreciated.
The dancefloor layout created an amazing atmosphere in the evening, and the team also set up a thoughtful quiet room next door with soft seating, a screen and games for children or anyone needing a break. We’re so grateful to the entire Sopwell House team and would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Sopwell House is an amazing venue for a wedding. It’s recently had a refurbishment and looks fantastic both inside and out.
The staff were very helpful, professional, friendly and clearly experienced with organising and running events. Our event planner, operations manager and all supporting staff were brilliant.
The food was delicious and so many of our guests said it’s the best wedding food they’ve ever had.
As a wedding venue for Hertfordshire, with the quality of service, food and inclusion of accommodation, Sopwell House is very good value for money.
We couldn’t recommend Sopwell House enough! They made our wedding day really special and we’re forever grateful. -

Chloe was so so helpful from the minute we booked our wedding! Any requests that we had they were fulfilled. Communication was amazing and any questions were answered within 24 hours. Sopwell was amazing for organisation, every detail mattered to make sure the day was perfect even creating a floor plan to make sure everything is where we wanted it. Any spare money we had from our package could be used on anything we wanted from food, to canapes to drinks there was no pressure on what to use it on. We had the most perfect day and wish we could relive it all over again! -

The BEST day - highly recommend!
We cannot recommend Sopwell House highly enough!
Planning a wedding can be so stressful but Chloe in the Events team was wonderful from the initial enquiry right up until the day itself. She was extremely friendly, always on hand for a chat and to answer any questions, and extremely professional throughout. A real joy to communicate with! She made the process so seamless for us and was incredibly organised. We cannot thank her enough.
The team on the day itself were equally as wonderful. They were so attentive and helpful and was always on hand for anything we needed. All our guests were complimenting how beautiful the venue was, how delicious the food was and how incredible the service was.
We really had the perfect day and cannot fault Sopwell House at all.
We highly recommend booking your special day here - you won't regret it!
