Planning a wedding always has its challenges but doing so from a time zone five hours ahead (Atlanta & NYC in EST) only magnifies them. The team at The Macdonald House Bath Spa Hotel rose to meet those challenges every step of the way. We started a year out from our date with a FaceTime tour of the property and venues with Event Manager Benice Hampton. When we made our first visit to the property we met with Camy Mitchell to get some of the specifics in place and finalize pricing. Camy provided us with a go to list of vendors (Celebrant, D.J., Cake, Photographer) to connect with for our event.
We did Zoom call interviews and were really pleased with our final choices. About two months out from our Wedding Macdonald House added Cat Johnson to their team as a Wedding Specialist. Cat's detailed approach to the final planning stages was amazing. She managed last minute requests (rooms, meal selections, food allergies) seamlessly and insured that everything and everyone was in place for the Wedding Day. We had planned for an outdoor ceremony which involved special circular seating and floral arrangements in specific trees surrounding the ceremony. When Mother Nature intervened with heavy rains the morning of the Wedding, Cat implemented the back up plan she already had in place so that everything went seamlessly (even the floral arrangements were repositioned to the inside venues). We have had nothing but wonderful feedback from our friends and family who attended our wedding and The Macdonald House bath Spa Hotel has been front and center in that feedback. All of the staff from front desk to servers, bar tenders and Bell staff were absolutely Five Star. We very much look forward to return visits in our future England travels.

Fantastic wedding reception venue
We had our wedding reception at the end of January with 25 guests and had the most amazing day ! Cat Johnson was our wedding planner and we cannot thank her enough for all her hard work organising our day - she is a star !
Beautiful venue, great food, lovely grounds, really good value for money as well and we highly recommend the MacDonald hotel ! -

A great venue for a quality wedding reception
We recently used this venue for our wedding reception. The grounds were stunning and provided a sacred space in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city centre, despite the hotel being close enough to the station that access is incredibly easy. There was a perfect amount of space for the numbers we had, 80 seated and 130 in the evening. It felt full but not crowded. As for the honeymoon suite, its the kind of room you see in movies or royal households. Absolutely stunning and a great treat to be thrown in with the package. The food was excellent and many commented on it in particular. The staff were professional, helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly. What impressed me the most, a guest caused some accidental damage to a furniture and they wrote it off at their own expense, when they could have charged us. Thanks Cat for a great experience. I'm so glad this hotel decided to start a renewed focus on wedding events recently, its a great find. -
