We got married at Clearwell Castle on 27th June 2026 and can honestly say it exceeded every expectation we had.
From the moment we first visited, we knew it was somewhere special. The castle itself is stunning, with beautiful grounds, incredible ceremony spaces and a real sense of occasion that made our wedding feel magical from start to finish.
What truly sets Clearwell apart is the team. Every member of staff was professional, organised, friendly and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. The planning process was seamless, and on the day itself everything ran like clockwork. We felt completely relaxed knowing we were in such capable hands.
Our guests were blown away by the venue. Many commented that it was the best wedding they had ever attended. The food was excellent, the service was flawless, and the attention to detail throughout the day was outstanding.
As a same-sex couple, we also felt completely welcomed and celebrated throughout the entire process. The team made us feel special from beginning to end and helped create a day that reflected us perfectly.
The castle provided the most incredible backdrop for our photographs, and everywhere you looked there was another beautiful space to enjoy. From the ceremony to the reception and evening party, every part of the day felt effortless and memorable.
If you're considering Clearwell Castle for your wedding, we couldn't recommend it highly enough. It gave us the most amazing day of our lives and memories that we, along with our family and friends, will cherish forever.

Everything about Clearwell went above and beyond my expectations! From the professionalism, service, flexibility with changes and demands, quality of upkeep, and food - I have nothing but positive things to say from me and all my guests who attended. My wedding planner, Jo was so kind and accommodating, and her calm and positive demeanour was really nice to have around as a steadiness to the emotional rollercoaster I had on the day. She took care of all the boring planning and logistics like food, vendors, and clean up; whereas we took care of all the fun. I felt stress free on the day and never had any problems with where guests would go, when food was served, and moving things around the castle. Even the clean up part was all handled by the castle staff and I couldn’t be more thankful to have everything in one piece after a night of partying.
If you are having any hesitations about booking a wedding here - DON’T. I had the wedding my dreams made easy at Clearwell! -

Would recommend to anyone!
We had the best wedding day at Clearwell.
Every detail was fantastic - from the accommodation to the decoration to the food. We got countless guest compliments on the quality of the food & drinks, and unexpected highlight was the evening fish and chip buffet which was incredible! The venue is absolutely stunning and made a dramatic backdrop for pictures.
Our wedding manager Rosie made everything seem effortless and genuinely got every single detail spot-on, making the day so stress-free for us. No question was too difficult for her in the run-up to the day, and we really appreciated all the personal touches we were able to make to the day.
Thank you Rosie and the whole Clearwell Castle team - we’re in awe of what you managed to deliver!

We chose Clearwell Castle because not only is it an absolutely stunning venue inside and out, but it offers so much value for money! We booked the classical package which was for 60 guests, although we didn’t have 60 guests, Clearwell were flexible and still gave us extra food and the correct number of drinks to reflect the number we’d paid for. There are a variety of extra add ons that make the day fun, we bought the sweet cart and mini golf which gave our guests so much to do. We also bought the inside aisle package which was easier for us and made the ballroom look even more beautiful and ceremony / wedding breakfast ready with very little effort from us. The food was delicious and there was so much of it, nobody was left hungry! The day ran smoothly because of our fantastic wedding manager Rosie! Rosie was calm, organised and listened to what we wanted and made it happen. Every time we’ve visited Clearwell, we’ve been impressed by the professionalism of every member of staff and the wedding day was no different. Every member of staff welcomed us, helped us and even danced with us later in the evening - it felt like they were family! We had a wedding I could’ve only have dreamed of and it’s all thanks to the wonderful venue and team at Clearwell. We can’t wait to go back and visit! We’ll be reminiscing about this day for the rest of our lives. Thankyou! -

We had the most wonderful day and genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better wedding. Joanne and her team were absolutely fantastic from start to finish, making sure everything ran smoothly and to time, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment of our special day.
All of our guests complimented the food and the venue, and Joanne and her team did an amazing job displaying all of the personal items we had provided, exactly as we had hoped.
The whole day ran seamlessly and was everything we had dreamed of. We are so grateful to Joanne and her team for all their hard work, care and attention to detail. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough! -

Gold star venue and staff
I cannot rate this venue and it's team on site highly enough. All of our guests commented on how professional, friendly and all round super stars the staff were throughout our day. They made sure everything ran smoothly and I no issues or stress were bought to me. Ann my wedding manager was an absolute superstar! Nothing was an issue and she kept the day flowing and guests informed. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, our guests were totally overwhelmed by the beauty of the castle and grounds. Our wedding took place in the middle of a heatwave and was around 32-34degrees. Our ceremony was outside and the venue did everything to keep guests comfortable, we sat them literally as we were about to start so they could stay in the shade, they let them retreat to shade during the signing of certificates and just got them back for our exit. We had water stations all around the venue and we'd provided guests with paper fans. The venue and it's accomodation doesn't have any Aircon, it did get quite warm indoors but we had all windows and doors open and guests managed many just needed to step out from time to time. But everyone still had the most amazing day! The food was devine and the quails scotch egg canape was a guest favourite with staff being ambushed when more came out!! I truly believe the venue and staff played a big part in the magic we felt on our day and I would recommend them in a heartbeat.Clearwell Castle's reply:

We got married here on the 10th May and the day was perfect, Ela did the most fantastic job of running everything smoothly. The food was all amazing! I am glad we upgraded to luxe as we didn’t have to worry about decorations and all the added extras made a real difference to our day.
To be able to stay in keepers cottage was perfect for the night before as this saved a wedding morning stress of getting to the venue. Thank you so much to everyone at clearwell castle.Clearwell Castle's reply:

Brilliant venue!
We had our big day on 7th May 2026. The venue was stunning and although it looked as though the forcast was not on our side, we managed to get married outdoors. The staff were lovely and supportive throughout. Although some additional items can be pricey, they are very accomodating in bringing your own decor to the venue. I made our table centrepieces, signage etc. and the staff are happy to set all of these up.
The food was lovely and we had many compliments from guests. We had guests also state that it was the best wedding they have ever attended with one stating that because their children were talking about how it was the best day of their lives that it is actually sad that nothing is likely to measure up which is a massive compliment to not just ourselves but also the venue and how hard they worked.
The wedding support team were very responsive and allowed us to make payments whenever we requested as long as it was prior to the final invoice.
Once paid, we were also able tp make additional purchases and add rooms/guests with ease.

We had a lovely day at Clearwell Castle. It is a gorgeous, dramatic venue and has stunning grounds. We felt very much like royalty all day. The food and drink is lovely and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Staying the night before was a big perk. We really enjoyed the hot tub at Keeper's Cottage! On the day, there were a few small errors but nothing that a guest would notice. We would absolutely recommend this venue if you want to experience a magical wedding, where everything is taken care of for you, with minimal stress.Clearwell Castle's reply:
