Wedding of our dreams
Our wedding weekend at Forte Sorgnano was truly everything we could have dreamed of and more. From the moment we arrived, everything was taken care of down to the smallest detail. The entire setting is absolutely magical, but what made our experience even more special were the people.
The staff were exceptional — genuinely some of the kindest, warmest and most helpful people we have ever met. Nothing was ever too much to ask. Every question, request or little last-minute detail was handled with a smile, and we felt so incredibly welcome throughout the entire weekend.
A very special thank you has to go to Marco, the owner. He is such a warm and wonderful person and was always available for our questions and requests. You can truly feel how much he cares about the couples and guests who stay at Forte Sorgnano, and that personal touch made such a difference to us.
The food was another highlight. Everything was beautifully prepared, absolutely delicious and there was SO much of it! Our guests were amazed by both the quality and the quantity. The pizza party the evening before our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. The pizzas were incredible, the atmosphere was exactly what we had hoped for, and there was more than enough food for everyone — nobody was going to bed hungry!
Having all of our favourite people together in this beautiful place in Umbria for an entire weekend felt like a dream. Forte Sorgnano gave us so much more than just a wedding venue; it gave us an experience and memories that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.
We honestly could not have wished for a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding. If you are dreaming of an Italian destination wedding where you and your guests can truly enjoy an entire weekend together, Forte Sorgnano is an incredibly special place.
Thank you Marco and the entire team for giving us the wedding weekend of our dreams. We would choose you again in a heartbeat. 🤍🇮🇹 -

Forte Sorgnano was such an incredible venue to host our wedding. We booked this venue for our wedding in June 2026 and we could not have picked a more beautiful place. The restored castle set against the uninterrupted view of the Umbrian countryside made for unbelievable photos and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the setting was.
We had about 40 guests staying in the hamlet itself and another 20 or so in the nearby sister accommodation. The accommodation was comfortable and had loads of space for people to relax and get ready before the ceremony. We hosted a pasta party the night before the wedding and a pizza party the day after the wedding and on both occasions the food was delicious, everyone had loads to eat and the service was great. On the wedding day itself, the terrace made a stunning backdrop for the ceremony, we had another delicious meal under the marquee outside and the courtyard of the castle makes a brilliant venue for a dancefloor into the night. Everyone was so complimentary about the food, including some very picky eaters, and the castle made such a good environment for the Bridal party to get ready and for our guests to have a great party. Overall having such a secluded space completely to ourselves for the whole stay made everything feel so intimate and meant everyone could relax and enjoy themselves. Marco made everything so easy for us as well, he was great through the planning process, suggesting what would work best with the space and suggesting vendors he’d worked with which we were a bit nervous about as we live in the UK and had no contacts in Italy. On the day he worked so well with our wedding coordinator so that problems were being solved before we even knew they were happening. Marco was always so relaxed and approachable but really organised and looked after the details. He even offered to stitch up the father of the groom after he fell down the hill and hit his head.
It’s a beautiful venue and if you’re looking for an intimate wedding venue you’d struggle to do better. -

Best wedding venue ever
We had the best wedding ever here. Marco was great, answering all my questions, but also so organised and helped the whole day run smoothly. All of our friends and family commented how incredible the venue was. The views and landscape were stunning. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend not only our wedding day, but a fantastic mini holiday with our nearest and dearest. We would highly recommend to everyone! -

Venue of our dreams
I honestly don’t think we could’ve chosen a better venue. When we first started planning, we were completely overwhelmed (in the best way) - there are so many venues out there now. We must have looked at hundreds online before narrowing it down and flying out to Italy to view six in person.
And then we found Sorgnano… and it just ticked every single box.
Not only is it absolutely stunning, with the most breathtaking views, a gorgeous Plan B option inside (which is just as beautiful as outside), and the ability to have all of our guests stay together in one place, which was really important to us. To add to that, because of how perfectly tucked away and peaceful Sorgnano is, that was never an issue - we could actually relax and enjoy the party without watching the clock.
But as incredible as the venue itself is, what really made the whole experience was Marco. We planned everything over two years from the UK, and having him there throughout was an actual godsend. No question was ever too small (and I asked a lot), and he was always so responsive, helpful, and genuinely kind. You can just tell he really cares.
We visited three times in total, first to see the venue, then for our food tasting (which was unreal), and finally for the wedding itself, and every single time it just felt better and better. By the time the wedding came around, we felt so comfortable and looked after, which made such a difference.
Our guests are still talking about it. The whole two days, not just the wedding - how amazing the whole experience was, how out-of-this-world the food was (special mention to the truffle pasta, which I think about regularly), and just how beautiful the setting is.
What really stood out was the flexibility, the ease of communication, and how supported we felt the entire time. Planning a wedding abroad could have been stressful, but they made it feel so easy and so enjoyable.
It never ever felt transactional, it felt like they genuinely wanted us to have the best experience possible. And they gave us exactly that.
We’d choose Sorgnano (and Marco) a million times over 🤍 -

Umbrian love story
Our wedding was truly a fairytale, beyond anything we could have imagined. From the very beginning, everything was handled with care, professionalism, and genuine warmth.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the homemade wine was a highlight that all our guests deeply appreciated—it added such an authentic and special touch to the celebration.
Marco was always available to answer our questions and guided us through every step of the organization. His support was invaluable, and the ideas he suggested were precious and truly made our event unforgettable.
The entire staff was highly professional, attentive, and perfectly coordinated—there was nothing that could have gone wrong. Even when we traveled specifically for the tasting, we were welcomed so warmly that we immediately felt at home and completely confident in our choice.
We cannot express enough gratitude to Marco and his entire team for turning our dream into reality. Thanks to them, our wedding was not just an event, but a magical experience we will cherish forever. -

Wedding of a Lifetime. Best day of our Lives.
From the very first visit back in 2023 Marco and his team helped us create our wedding in August 2025 to perfection. There’s nothing I would change about it (apart from the last day pool party thunderstorm!) and even then, everything ran smoothly. Marco was able to communicate with us on the wedding day when the weather may have turned and was able to act flexibly to ensure all parts of the day ran as smoothly as it could. Fly out visit, do the food tasting, stay in the castle do it all because you won’t regret it. Vendors can be provided through Marco and Lavinia (Wedding Planner) who was also spot on. No hidden costs, everything was communicated as it should be. The rooms are fairly standard, but that’s okay, perfect for what you need and to be honest you want to be outside taking it all in! We had a pre wedding pizza party and post wedding bbq (do not miss this!) Wine tasting can also be organised on site. Absolutely no faults and I hope to come and visit here time and time again to relive the memories. Thank you so so much Marco. -

Fairytale wedding in Umbrian countryside
My husband and I recently got married in Tenuta di Forte Sorgnano and it was a magical experience.
From the very beginning communication with Marco was so easy, he provided all the information in relation to what could be done at the venue. After talking with Marco and seeing the magnificent photos of the estate we were keen to go and view it. It did not disappoint, in fact it was more spectacular in real life than the photos. Marco was such a pleasure to deal with and made our visit a great experience. The estate had everything needed to escape the hustle and bustle of real life including a pool, restaurant, bar, kiddies play area and lots more.
We instantly fell in love with the venue and booked it immediately when we got home. During our time planning the wedding Marco was extremely helping in providing information about the vendors and pointing us in the right direction. His kind nature always put our minds at ease every time we had a call with him, making the process feel like a breeze.
Considering we found the wedding planning process so enjoyable we knew that our time at Forte Sorgnano was going to be great, but we could not have imagined how amazing it turned out to be. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, all the staff were wonderful going out of their way to help us in any way possible. Everything ran so smoothly it was like a dream.
My husband, I and all of our guests have been using the words “fairytale wedding" to describe the experience.
The food was spectacular and Marco was so accommodating to dietary restrictions and requirements. Marco even organised a cooking class for some of our guests one of the days which everybody thoroughly enjoyed.
The day of our wedding at Forte Sorgnano is one we will never forget and we have Marco and all of his wonderful staff to thank for this. -
