Easterbrook Hall and The Crichton Church are historic wedding venues within The Crichton estate in Dumfries, Dumfries Galloway and Ayrshire. The Crichton is significant in Scottish history. It served as an esteemed medical research facility for 150 years from 1839. In 1995 it became a university campus, continuing its tradition of sharing knowledge and promoting innovation. Today, it is managed by The Crichton Trust and continues to act as a place that connects people pursuing education and development. Set in 85 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and gardens, The Crichton provides a breathtaking backdrop for your wedding day.

The richly detailed Crichton Memorial Church stands proudly at the heart of the estate. Made from local red sandstone from Locharbriggs and Thornhill and impressive stained-glass windows.

Crichton Memorial Church is non-denominational and is open to weddings of all kinds, accommodating up to 250 guests for your ceremony. The Heritage package is perfect for couples who are looking for a unique location for their wedding day; the church can be transformed into a breathtaking reception venue for up to 120 guests which is licensable until midnight

Other spaces, such as the manicured lawns, Easterbrook terrace, and various rooms within the Easterbrook Hall, are licenced for civil ceremonies. The Duncan Rooms within Easterbrook Hall offer an ideal venue for smaller, more intimate weddings. Undergoing refurbishment in early 2027, the rooms will be lighter and brighter, with neutral tones and the original parquet flooring restored.

The Crichton welcomes grand celebrations and intimate affairs, accommodating weddings for 30 to 400 guests. Dining arrangements for formal sit-down dinners and buffet-style meals are available depending on the couple’s preference. The Crichton is fully equipped for evening entertainment, boasting a large dance floor, as well as DJ and live music facilities. The nearby Holiday Inn is a walking distance from the venue and is perfect for your guests to retreat after a long night of festivities.
