In between St. Andrews and Edinburgh, Balbirnie House Hotel is a 1777 Georgian mansion and sits on 400-acre parkland. This flexible venue can host up to 250 guests for an evening reception and up to 216 attendees for a wedding banquet. Multiple event spaces are available, and the knowledgeable staff will help you find the one that suits your special day. The Long Gallery is the central room of the original house, featuring tromps d'oeuil painted on the ceiling, lunette windows, and an arched ceiling. For large ceremonies, the Millenium Ballroom is an elegant option. The Orangery has stunning floor-to-ceiling Georgian windows, a tinted mirrored glass ceiling, and beautiful parkland views. For couples who want to say 'I do' outdoors, they can choose to say their vows on the gorgeous manicured lawns, followed by a drinks reception on the adjacent grounds. There are 31 comfortable bedrooms on the property for you and your overnight guests to stay in during your celebration.

Best imaginable wedding team / venue
Although the venue hosts weddings regularly, we did not feel that we were required to follow a fixed format and the team went out of their way to accommodate requests to do things differently making us feel that our wedding was individual to us.
The team on the day (led by our wonderful MC David) exceeded all expectations - they were amazingly organised, accommodating, hard working and just generally good people to have around on your wedding day. Various guests commented on how well organised the wedding day was. David really took control on the day and made us feel like we could relax and enjoy the day knowing everything was in safe hands.
We also cannot thank Katy enough for her help throughout the wedding planning process - her attention to detail and dedication to making our day exactly how we wanted it made the planning process so much easier than it might otherwise have been.
The food was also wonderful on the day - we received lots of positive feedback from guests and were very grateful to the kitchen staff for listening to our feedback from our menu tasting and incorporating that into the dishes that were served on the day.

The most incredible venue!
The setting is beautiful - we married in the Orangery which is so beautiful, it doesn’t really need any extra decor. The dinner and dancing was in the Ballroom which is a beautiful room, especially when it’s dark outside as it really shows off the fairy lights.
We were so impressed at the incredible quality of food. And served in such good time as well.
The staff though were what made it. They go out of their way to make it the most special day. They were so accommodating to our requests, and were so organised and managed everything throughout the day. We were able to just focus on our celebrations. They were also very organised and responsive in the build up, making it very easy for us to plan. Massive thanks to Leah, Angela and the rest of the Balbirnie team for making us and our guests so welcome and feel so special! We wouldn’t have changed a thing.
