Antica Masseria Martuccio

Antica Masseria Martuccio is a 17th-century masseria (a traditional Puglian farmhouse estate) in Mesagne, in the countryside between Brindisi and the Salento, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. It was built on the old Via Appia and has been hosting weddings and events for over 30 years.

The Masseria hosts only one wedding a day, and the courtyard, halls and reception areas are reserved for the couple. To have the whole Masseria, rooms and pool included, you book all 28 rooms. The ceremony, aperitivo, dinner and party can each take place in a different area, so the day moves naturally from one setting to the next.

A weekend, not just a day

For couples coming from abroad there's the Destination Weekend: a welcome event the evening before, the wedding itself, and a farewell brunch the morning after. The couple and their guests can stay at the Masseria, and add a few experiences to get to know Puglia if they like.

Spaces

• Corte Antica: the old courtyard, with arches, antique wooden doors and terracotta and stone floors, for aperitivo, buffets, cake cutting or dinner outdoors
• Sala Imperiale: the largest indoor hall, with golden stone, wooden beams and wrought-iron chandeliers
• Sala Camini: a stone barrel vault and historic fireplaces, warm in winter and cool in summer
• Giardino d'Inverno: a bright covered space with large windows onto the garden
• La Pineta: the newest space, outdoors under the stars among the pine trees, around the second pool with its stone bridge, for aperitivo and the after-party

Civil ceremonies, both legal and symbolic, indoors or outdoors. For a religious ceremony there are churches a few minutes away. Music until midnight, and fireworks are allowed.

Guests and accommodation

Weddings from 50 to 400 guests. There are 28 rooms and suites on site with up to 68 beds, including an accessible room, plus pools, gardens and private parking. Hair and make-up can be arranged at the Masseria.

Food

The Masseria has its own kitchen team and a wood-fired oven: Puglian and Mediterranean dishes made with local produce. There's a menu tasting before the wedding.

Getting here

Brindisi airport is about 26 km away (30 minutes by car) and Bari airport about 130 km (2 hours). Mesagne train station is 5 km away. The Masseria can arrange airport transfers for the couple and their guests.

Questions couples ask us

Will all our guests sleep at the Masseria?
We have 28 rooms, sleeping 66, 68 at the very most. Up to about 65 guests, everyone stays on the estate. For bigger weddings there are small hotels and guest houses five to fifteen minutes away, and we help you organise them.

How late can the music go on?
Outdoor music ends at midnight, as the law requires in Italy. If your group has all 28 rooms, the party carries on inside the historic halls after midnight with no closing time.

Can we bring our own caterer or drinks?
No. Everything is cooked in our own kitchen, wedding cake included, and the drinks come from us too. Prosecco, wine from our cellar, beer, water and soft drinks are included throughout the reception. Cocktails and an after party can be added.

We're only 40 or 50. Will it feel empty?
No. Nothing is set up in advance: we lay out the courtyard and the halls around your group, and they work well for fifty.

Who looks after us from abroad?
A wedding coordinator is included and is your one point of contact from the first email to the farewell brunch, in English. If you'd like us to handle the suppliers too, our in-house wedding planner can take that on as a separate service.

Do we have to use your suppliers?
No. You choose your photographer, music, florist and so on, and we're happy to recommend people we trust.

What if it rains?
We move into the air-conditioned historic halls, with no change to the programme.

Are there any fixed extra costs?
There's no venue hire, room fee, service charge, cleaning fee or deposit. The SIAE music licence and any outside suppliers you choose are paid by you. There's no tourist tax in Mesagne.

Can children come?
Of course. Under-threes aren't counted and have a cot; older children have their own menu.
