Gordon Wight Toastmaster

Speaking form the perspective as “Father of the Bride”, I didn’t have any contact with Gordon until we meet at the walk through at the venue a few weeks before the big event. My daughter had waxed lyrical about Gordon, and upon meeting him for the first time I could see why, with him effortless charm and relaxed manor it felt like meeting an old friend. During the walk through any potential problems or causes for concern were brought up and contingencies discussed. The level of details that he asked about clearly showed that his knowledge and experience of coordinating special events was second to none.
As for the big day, he was there from an early start through to the evenings celebration, making sure everything was done on time, but it all done in a relaxed, stressless manor. From liaising with the registrar, organising people for the official photos to getting everyone seated for the wedding breakfast, nothing was too much trouble.
Gordon also ensured that there was time along the way so that the newlyweds could have a moments where they could catch there their breath and take in all that was happening around them before the next stage commenced. At the start of the day he arranged “The Brides Reveal “ where I got to see my daughter for the first time in her dress accompanied by all her bridesmaids, which was quite an emotional moment. From the start to the end Gordon was there guiding the event with effortless ease, thereby making the day stress free and enjoyable for everyone.

I have been and will continue to recommend him to anyone who is thinking of planning, not just a wedding but any major event. Many thanks once again Gordon and I wish you all the success for the future.

Gordon, we cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us both in the lead up and on the day itself to make our wedding absolutely perfect! From our very first interaction with you at a wedding fayre, your passion and dedication to this role shone through in abundance, and knowing we had you on our side helped us to relax and enjoy our day as we knew without doubt that you had everything under control.

I want to start by saying Gordon is simply one of the loveliest people we have ever met and had the pleasure of working with - his calm demeanour, endless kindness and humour made every meeting and communication with him a joy; it helped to take the edge off of the most overwhelming moments, and he was always able to reassure us and make planning our wedding seem far less stressful! We met with Gordon a couple of times in person before the wedding to discuss our hopes and wishes for our big day and to go over timings and all the finer details, and I cannot stress enough how helpful we found this. Gordon listened to and took on board everything little thing we were imagining for our big day and gave us so many pointers and things to consider that would not have crossed our minds at all without his expertise - including a reveal with my Dad before the ceremony, and giving our dog her own music track to enter the ceremony to as our ringbearer to make it even more of a moment! We also had some last minute, unexpected timing changes a couple of weeks before the wedding, so we approached Gordon for some guidance regarding this and within 48 hours he had tweaked all of the timings accordingly and scheduled a video meeting with us to go over these and check that we were happy with everything. From the day we booked him, we both felt that we could have contacted Gordon at any time with any issue and nothing would have been too much trouble for him - his genuine care for what he does and the couples he is looking after is so obvious (and deeply appreciated by us), and his attention to detail is unmatched!

Our wedding day itself was absolutely perfect - everything we dreamed of came to fruition, everything ran perfectly to schedule, and if there were any issues that arose I certainly wasn't aware of them! Having Gordon there to make all the formal announcements and perform ceremonial rituals such as the sabrage made the day even more special, and so many of our guests stopped us on the day to comment on how impressed they were by him (as were we)! Everything Gordon did was executed with the highest level of professionalism, and he even surprised us with an extra ceremony at the end of our wedding breakfast by presenting us the cork from the champagne bottle he performed the sabrage with and helping us literally tie the knot around it to preserve it forever - such a thoughtful touch that we really enjoyed! Not only that, but Gordon took such great care of us all day - including carrying my train and veil to help me move around more easily, storing my bouquet safely when it wasn't needed and fetching it again for photos etc, and always making sure we had a full glass at all times!! This care also extended to our parents, wedding party and guests, who he coordinated perfectly to make sure everyone was exactly where they needed to be and at the right time.

In short, Gordon was hands-down our favourite wedding supplier we booked and by far the best investment we made - this man is worth his weight in gold and then some! Thank you a million times over for absolutely everything, we will never be able to put into words how grateful we are for you and would recommend you to any couple getting married in a heartbeat! We will miss working with you now the wedding is done, and wish you all the best for the future.

From the moment we met him, his calm, reassuring presence immediately put us at ease. Wedding planning can be overwhelming at times, but Gordon took so much of the stress away, making the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish.

Gordon joined us for our wedding day on 31-01-2026 and all I can say is what a man!
From the second we met him at the wedding fayre, Seb (Husband) knew straight away Gordon needed to be a part of our day, and I am so glad he was!
As all Bride/Grooms know, wedding planning is STRESSFUL, Gordon will take away this stress entirely! He does a fantastic job to ensure that the Bride and Groom can enjoy every single part of the day, and there is not a dot out of place whilst doing so!
I have never seen anyone have so much dedication, attention to detail and most of all.. Care, to making sure everyone has the best time, but rest assured, Gordon will do exactly that!

He goes above and beyond to ensure not only the happy couple, but every guest is happy, got everything they need and are supported! Our elderly uncle was massively grateful for Gordon, as he treated him with the upmost respect, whilst ensuring he was able to get around the venue, have food and drink and enjoy the day!
Not a glass was left empty whilst Gordon was around and his presence felt like he was just another part of the family making our day just as special!

I honestly cannot recommend Gordon enough and i know I definitely will be making sure that any future event we have, Gordon is top of the list to attend!

Amazing, amazing, amazing! When the idea of a Toastmaster came up during the wedding planning, I had no idea what one was, but I am so glad we asked Gordon to be ours! From the first meeting to the night before, Gordon made sure everything was planned and ready to run smoothly.

On the day, I didn't need to worry about anything—like suppliers turning up or guests not knowing where to go. Any worry I did have, Gordon already had a solution for; any last-minute changes I made, he put them in place. When we had a bridesmaid dress issue, Gordon was even there with a sewing kit to fix it!

Honestly, the day would not have gone as smoothly as it did had it not been for Gordon. From the bottom of my heart, I can’t thank him enough for making our day as perfect as it was. Thank you so much for everything you did on the day and beforehand. For anybody wondering if a Toastmaster is worth it: 110% yes, especially if it’s Gordon!
