We couldn't have asked for a better dog chaperone for Amber our show cocker spaniel on our wedding day.
From our initial call with Chris it's so clear she's so kind, gentle, professional and cares deepening about your dogs needs.
Chris handled Amber on the day with such care and ease, making sure she was comfortable and happy - as well as perfectly on schedule for her ring bearer duties. She got Amber prepped, calm and fed - before adding her flower collar and rings for her ring bearing duties. Thanks for making her look amazing!
She was flexible on the day, helping with photos and taking Amber around to our guests and accommodating when we wanted Amber to be with us too. Spotting when she needed water and a quick toilet.
What truly stood out was how personable and warm Chris was with us, our dog and our guests too.
Our guests commented how great she was and they assumed she was a family/friend because of how well she handled Amber and how Amber settled with her through the whole day.
Chris had even messaged beforehand to ask what our bridal party were wearing so she'd fit in - she was dressed impeccably as well as having a stash of her own treats for Amber (which she had checked on our initial call about any dietary needs).
Chris took Amber back to our Airbnb and stayed there into the evening with Amber-pup and a few days later sent us pics of Amber enjoying their time together (Amber of course snoozing!). Chris closed blinds in our Airbnb for us ahead of us returning, left notes and was just fab - so thoughtful and respectful!
With thanks to her help, we were able to fully enjoy her day knowing that our furry family member was in the best hands.

She was a delight to look after and to spend the day with I couldn't have wished for more. The photos reflect what a fantastic day you had and how lovely all of your family and guests were. I would also mention the joy of working with the other suppliers, Marcello and Fiona of CotswoldVWWeddings as well as the pleasure of getting to be at Ivy Lodge for the first time. Amazing dog sitting service!!
Chris looked after our two dogs for the day at our wedding venue & she provided an amazing service and care for our pooches! She even walked our dog around the reception to greet everyone which is the cutest touch.
Our dog seemed really happy and content in Chris’ care - highly recommend:) -

Chris was Amazing
Chris was incredible. Our little dog, Lola, can be a bit nervous sometimes but she warmed to Chris like I’ve never seen her warm to a stranger. I don’t think I even heard her bark during the day!
Chris was extremely attentive, squeaking a toy so Lola looked up at the camera, bringing her to see me while I was getting ready and making sure to take her for plenty of breaks so she didn’t get overwhelmed.
I genuinely cannot recommend Chris enough. Thank you for making our wedding day even more special! -

Chris at Short Legs Dog Care was absolutely fantastic looking after our miniature schnauzer, Cleo, during our wedding. She picked Cleo up and dropped her off at our venue (Manor by the Lake), making the whole process smooth and stress-free. Chris also brought her along for photos, and even though Cleo was nervous, she was well looked after and included in our special moments. Knowing Cleo was in such good hands gave us complete peace of mind, allowing us to fully enjoy our day. We couldn’t have asked for better care—highly recommend! -

Ralph’s new best friend
Easy to book - a few emails and a short phone call meant that Chris had everything she needed ahead of the big day.
No fuss - Chris was on time and quickly took control of looking after Ralph meaning no one else needed to worry about him.
Love of dogs - Chris got on amazingly with Ralph and he was very happy in her company. He snuggled up to her for warmth and seemed calm with her even in the big crowds of people.
Photo opportunities - having Chris there made Ralph bringing the rings down the aisle so easy. She kept him quiet during the ceremony and worked brilliantly with the venue to keep him hidden until the big entrance. Whilst we were having our photos taken she was also always on hand to pass him over when we needed him and keep him busy for the other photos. She also had some great tricks up her sleeve to make sure he was looking in the right direction for the pictures.
After care - I was a little worried about Ralph going to the kennels afterwards but Chris sorted everything. Making sure he was settled before leaving him for the night. We didn’t have any issues and I didn’t need to worry at all.
We would definitely recommend booking Chris if you are considering her for your wedding! -

The best thing we did for our big day
Chris was absolutely lovely! We knew from the day we started planning our wedding that we wanted our dog Reg there and Chris was the perfect solution. She was absolutely brilliant with Reg and took such great care of him. She was patient and kind even though he was a bit out of sorts all day. Worth every single penny in my opinion. Thank you for being such an important part of our day ❤️ -

We cannot recommend Chris at Short Legs Dog Chaperone highly enough! From the moment we met her, it was clear that she is not only outstandingly kind and patient but also an absolute joy to be around. Our dogs Teddie and Winnie adored her from the start, and it was so reassuring to know they were in such loving and capable hands.
Chris brought Teddie and Winnie to the ceremony, and they behaved impeccably—all thanks to her gentle guidance and expert care. Our guests absolutely adored her, and her professionalism shone through in every detail. She was impeccably dressed, adding even more elegance to the day, and her warm presence made everything feel seamless. She truly went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better.

Chris was really flexible and eager to work around our day to suit our needs and our dogs (Nellie) when we were going through the booking process. On the day, Chris was just great. She went with the flow of changed plans due to the weather, she helped Nellie to pose for some great pictures, and overall was just an amazing companion for Nellie - she absolutely loved Chris. We really couldn’t have done the day without her - to completely take away the worry of us or family having to mind Nellie throughout the day, but to also have her included in our day was really special and absolutely worth it! She was fussed, walked, fed, and then dropped back at the end of the evening - we couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you so much :)
