We couldn't have asked for a better dog chaperone for Amber our show cocker spaniel on our wedding day.
From our initial call with Chris it's so clear she's so kind, gentle, professional and cares deepening about your dogs needs.
Chris handled Amber on the day with such care and ease, making sure she was comfortable and happy - as well as perfectly on schedule for her ring bearer duties. She got Amber prepped, calm and fed - before adding her flower collar and rings for her ring bearing duties. Thanks for making her look amazing!
She was flexible on the day, helping with photos and taking Amber around to our guests and accommodating when we wanted Amber to be with us too. Spotting when she needed water and a quick toilet.
What truly stood out was how personable and warm Chris was with us, our dog and our guests too.
Our guests commented how great she was and they assumed she was a family/friend because of how well she handled Amber and how Amber settled with her through the whole day.
Chris had even messaged beforehand to ask what our bridal party were wearing so she'd fit in - she was dressed impeccably as well as having a stash of her own treats for Amber (which she had checked on our initial call about any dietary needs).
Chris took Amber back to our Airbnb and stayed there into the evening with Amber-pup and a few days later sent us pics of Amber enjoying their time together (Amber of course snoozing!). Chris closed blinds in our Airbnb for us ahead of us returning, left notes and was just fab - so thoughtful and respectful!
With thanks to her help, we were able to fully enjoy her day knowing that our furry family member was in the best hands.
We really recommend Chris and her kind nature - she's fantastic! -

The best dog chaperone for our wedding day!
Chris was incredible from start to finish as Otis’s wedding day chaperone. From the planning stages through to the day itself, she was attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. Otis warmed to her almost immediately, which put us completely at ease.
She is kind, calm, and so thoughtful, and knowing Otis was in such safe hands meant we could fully enjoy our day. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Chris to any couple wanting their dog to be part of their wedding. -

Definitely recommend!
Chris was absolutely amazing from start to finish and completely put our minds at ease. It was so special to have our golden retriever be a part of our special day without any of the stress. We would definitely recommend shortlegs daycare to anyone thinking of having their dog on their wedding day for an stress-free and magical day! -

Chris was amazing!
We cannot recommend our Chris highly enough! From start to finish, she took such wonderful care of our dog Dexter on our wedding day. Knowing he was in safe, loving, and capable hands allowed us to fully relax and enjoy every moment. Chris made sure he was calm, happy, and perfectly looked after, and they timed everything seamlessly so Dexter could be part of the day without any stress for us or for him.
She did an incredible job getting Dexter calmly and confidently down the aisle, which was such a special moment for us and something we will treasure forever. She also worked seamlessly with our photographer, helping to get the exact photos we had hoped for - capturing Dexter at his very best and making the whole process feel effortless.
Chris’ professionalism, kindness, and genuine love for dogs truly shone through. Dexter absolutely adored her. Having Dexter with us on our wedding day meant the world, and it simply wouldn’t have been possible without such incredible care. Thank you for going above and beyond - we are so grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for a dog chaperone for a special occasion! -

We had the absolute best experience with our dog chaperone service for our wedding! Trish was truly incredible—so caring, patient, and loving to our dog Oscar. Like many pet parents, it can be scary trusting someone else to look after him, especially on such an important day, but Trish was beyond amazing and immediately put all of our worries at ease.
We cannot thank Trish enough for the genuine love, attention, and care she gave Oscar throughout the day. Knowing he was happy, comfortable, and so well looked after meant everything to us and allowed us to fully enjoy our wedding.
Chris, who runs Short Legs, was also fantastic. Her communication was clear, prompt, and reassuring from start to finish, making the entire experience smooth and stress-free.
Anyone who has similar worries about leaving their dog in someone else’s care can be completely assured—you will be more than happy choosing this team. We would pick them 100 times over and could not recommend them more highly! 🐾💛 -

Amazing from start to finish!
Chris was absolutely incredible as our dog wedding chaperone. She worked with us on every detail to make sure Gordon’s needs were met and that he felt comfortable throughout the entire day. She blended seamlessly into the background but was always there keeping an eye on our fur baby, taking all the stress off our shoulders.
Gordon looked so happy and even posed perfectly for photos thanks to her care and attention! Chris is trustworthy, reliable, and truly goes above and beyond. We couldn’t recommend her more highly! -

5 star service, looking after an injured dog
We then bumped into Chris at the Kingscote Barn open day and booked 12 hours for our wedding day, which was then followed up with a video call to speak again and for Chris to see Peach (dog).
Sadly, Peach tore her ACL a few weeks out from her special day of being ring bearer, and the recovery time from her operation was a bit too short for us to risk it so she handed over the duties to the best man.
Which meant, she had to spend the majority of the time in a cage, and when stepping out for a toilet and short walk she had to be kept on a short lead and any wooden flooring have a yoga mat on the floor to walk on to stop any sliding of her leg.
This in turn took a lot of pressure and worry off our plate, on a day which is already very stressful.
Thanks again for taking on the responsibility of looking after an injured dog, and I’m glad to say Peach has full recovered! -

Chris was amazing from our first conversations we knew she was the best person to look after our Loki. From the moment she arrived on the morning of our wedding, she was brilliant. During our initial conversations, we had pre warned Chris that Loki is a very anxious dog and doesn't tend to cope too well with lots of people. On the day, we decided it was probably best for the dog that he didn't join us at our reception. We are so glad that we booked with Chris and highly recommend her 😊 -

The best dog chaperone we could have asked for!
We hired Chris from Short Legs Dog Care to chaperone our sprocker spaniel Arnie on our wedding day at Old Gore, and she was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. We booked her almost two years ago, and from our very first conversation, we knew she was the perfect person to look after our little man. You truly cannot put a price on the peace of mind that comes from knowing your dog is being cared for by someone so kind, professional, and trustworthy.
Chris collected Arnie from my husband’s hotel on the morning of the wedding and brought him safely to the venue. She looked after him throughout the day, keeping him happy and comfortable while we had our photographs taken and enjoyed the celebrations. She was so calm and caring with him, which meant we could completely relax and enjoy every moment of our day knowing he was in the best hands.
That evening, she took Arnie back to her home, looked after him overnight, and even stored his food for us while we were away on our mini moon. The following morning, she dropped him back to our hotel with a big smile and such warmth and kindness.
Chris is just the loveliest person and an absolute professional. We are so grateful for her help, her support, and the genuine care she showed for Arnie. We can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for someone dependable and wonderful to care for their dog on such an important day. She really went above and beyond in every way. -
