Our Real Wedding

Kane proposed on a beautiful sunny day in October 2024 at the top of Calton Hill. As soon as he dropped to one knee, I already knew exactly where I wanted to get my wedding dress from — somewhere I had dreamed about ever since they helped my auntie find her dress years before. Much to my amazement, Kane had already booked viewings at two wedding venues he’d found on Hitched before I had even said yes, and that's how we found the Oak Barn, Frame Farm!

We knew we wanted the day to feel relaxed, romantic and rustic, so we chose lots of natural details throughout our décor — oak tables and chairs, soft table runners, bud vases and plenty of green foliage, especially eucalyptus, to bring everything together beautifully. One of the most special and personal touches was our large Colin and Connie caterpillar cake, lovingly decorated by my mum, which became such a talking point with our guests. The weather may not have been on our side, but we had the best day celebrating with our friends and family.
