Our Real Wedding
Our wedding day was more than just a celebration — it was the beginning of a new chapter nearly 14 years in the making. We had been together since we were teenagers, true childhood sweethearts, growing up side by side and sharing so much of life before we finally decided to get married. When we did, it felt so intentional and so right — like everything had led us to that moment.
I had always dreamed of getting married in a chapel. There’s something about a chapel that makes me feel deeply connected to my grandparents and their faith. It was important to me in a way I can’t quite put into words. So when we found Hengrave Hall, it honestly felt like fate. The venue is breathtaking, and the fact that it has its own on-site chapel made it everything I had ever imagined. It truly felt like a dream come true.
Finding my dress was just as magical. I went to Martels Bridal and spotted the dress almost immediately — tucked away on a rail at the back. I tried a few others on first, but I couldn’t stop thinking about that one. When I finally put it on, it fit like a glove. In that moment, I felt exactly how I had always hoped to feel on my wedding day — like a princess. Seeing my mum’s face when I stepped out was something I’ll never forget — she was completely overwhelmed and burst into tears. My mother-in-law was just as emotional. Having them both there, crying happy tears, made it all feel so real and so incredibly special.
Continue reading »Choosing our photographer was such an easy decision. Jason Little is an old friend who had moved into wedding photography, and his images were just incredible. Having someone who knew us so well capture our day made it even more special, and I’m so grateful because the photos and video are everything.
After nearly 18 months of planning, the big day finally arrived — and it was more magical than I ever could have imagined. The emotions were so high because the day meant so much, not just to us, but to our parents and our friends who had watched our love story grow from the very beginning. We had recently lost my grandpa and my mum’s best friend, so there was an extra layer of emotion woven through the day. We felt their absence deeply, which made every hug and every smile feel even more meaningful.
And somehow, everything was perfect. The sun came out and lit up Hengrave Hall in the most beautiful way. We were surrounded by all our favourite people, completely overwhelmed by the love and magic in the room. The venue and all of our incredible suppliers made everything feel seamless — like something out of a dream. I honestly couldn’t have asked for it to go any better.
For days afterwards, people were still messaging us, telling us they were in happy tears and that it was one of the most magical weddings they had ever been to. Hearing that meant the world to us. I feel so incredibly thankful — for the experience, for the love, for the memories we created.
And now we have the most beautiful images and video to relive it all whenever we want — a perfect reminder of the most special, emotional, joy-filled day of our lives.
