Our Real Wedding
Our wedding day was everything we had ever dreamed of — full of love, laughter, and a few surprises along the way!
We got married at The Great Barn, a venue we fell in love with the moment we stepped through the doors. It had the perfect rustic charm and warmth that we wanted for our autumn wedding. Grace, our coordinator, was a star from start to finish, making sure everything ran perfectly. We chose the sharing boards for our wedding breakfast, and they were a huge hit — the roast beef was especially delicious!
The morning of the wedding was such a special time. The atmosphere was calm but full of excitement as I got ready with my bridesmaids, my mum, and my little niece. My hair and makeup team were amazing — they made me feel relaxed, pampered, and completely ready to walk down the aisle. I remember looking in the mirror just before getting into my dress and feeling like the best version of myself.
Finding my dress had been a journey in itself, but the moment I tried it on, I knew it was the one. With a few perfect alterations, it felt like it was made just for me. I couldn’t stop smiling all morning as I finally stepped into it — it really was everything I’d imagined and more.

Our colour theme was rich and autumnal — deep burgundy tones with sunflowers and red roses. The flowers added such warmth to the day, and seeing my bouquet for the first time made me tear up. The flower girls loved their little wands, and they were so proud walking down the aisle.
The ceremony itself was emotional and full of joy. Walking down the aisle and seeing my husband waiting for me was a moment I’ll never forget. We both laughed and cried through our vows, and as soon as we were pronounced married, the whole barn erupted in cheers.
One of my favourite moments of the day was the surprise we planned for my husband — a tractor! He’s a big tractor lover, so seeing one arrive just for him was priceless. His face lit up, and it’s a memory we’ll always cherish.
The evening was full of dancing, laughter, and pure happiness. Our band were fantastic and had everyone on their feet — it was so special having them perform our first and last dance live.
The day went by in a blur of hugs, happy tears, and endless smiles. Looking back through our photos now, I’m amazed at how every emotion and little detail was captured so beautifully.
Afterwards, we escaped to Cornwall for a lovely little mini-moon with our dog, Pat, and spent the week reminiscing about the best day of our lives. We’re already wishing we could do it all over again — it truly was the most magical day. ❤️
